Japan visa news: Two brothers from India, self-proclaimed anime enthusiasts and partners in their family business, have successfully obtained their first-ever international visas to visit Japan. Their dream trip aligns with the Osaka World Expo 2025, and they plan to spend two weeks exploring the country they’ve admired for years. The details were shared on Reddit forum r/visas on July 26.

Visa Approved in Just 4 Working Days

Their visa process was completed in record time under the Chennai Consulate’s jurisdiction. “Our appointment was scheduled for 11:05 AM, but we arrived early at 9:00 AM. Since we were the first ones there, the VFS staff gave us the first token. They collected our documents, and the entire process took about 30 minutes. We were done by 9:30 AM,” the post read.

The brothers tracked their application closely:

July 22 (Tue): Passports forwarded to the consulate (delayed by a Japanese holiday on July 21)

July 24 (Thu): Passports processed and dispatched

July 26 (Sat): Passports received with single-entry visas approved

“Just 4 working days (7 calendar days) from appointment to delivery!” they added.

Comprehensive Documentation for a Smooth Process

The duo credited Reddit user u/ygrules for their Ultimate Japan Visa Guide, which allowed them to handle the process independently. They submitted a detailed set of documents, including:

Digitally filled visa application forms with photos

Passport copies (first and last pages)

Cover letters mentioning each other as travel partners

Day-wise itinerary, flight, and hotel bookings

NOC from their father and GST certificate of their company

Bank statements showing over ₹4 lakh balance each, ITRs, AIS, and Form 26AS

Travel insurance, Aadhaar, PAN copies, and Osaka Expo 2025 tickets

They explained, “Our communication with the Consulate General is only through a cover letter, so make sure it clearly explains your situation. In our case, we mentioned why we only had one year of ITR and included other documents proactively. This likely prevented any further delays or document requests from the consulate.”

Advice for First-Time Travelers

The brothers also shared tips for applicants. “Please don’t pay anyone online for a cover letter, you’ll find plenty of free samples on the internet. Just follow the Ultimate Guide, customize it to your case, and you’ll be fine. You don’t need an agent, the process may seem intimidating, but it’s absolutely doable,” they advised.

They concluded by encouraging others to take the leap, saying, “Feel free to DM or comment if you have any questions I’d be happy to help. Wishing you all the best on your Japan visa journey. Hope everyone gets their visa approved and make their Japan dream trip come true!”
