Tokyo to Shizuoka – Japan 2025 (5 of 18)

[Music] welcome back everyone here’s the fifth video to share the pictures from our trip to Japan uh since we’ve got over 5,000 of them I’m separating them into different videos for each day hope you enjoy waking up early on this day was just as productive as the other days but today we had to head to our next city so we packed our bags and checked out we hit up Sensoji one last time this time I wanted to make sure I I got a stamp the one I got at Tokyo Ekki the Ekki Stampoo was just a minor thing the stamp at Senoji a going was something else they took each person’s stamp book in exchange for a small fee and gave us a number then people in back stamped the book and wrote calligraphy on top of it finally they called our numbers and gave us our books back there was a bit of a line and a wait and I don’t know what the calligraphy says but it was well worth it it did feel a little weird though the place to get the stamp and where we were waiting was one of the buildings of the temple where people come to pray to a variety of Buddhas so there were people practicing their religion while we waited for what is effectively a souvenir for most of the people getting them information only shows trains departing from this platform in order all trains not shown in the order will depart on time from other platforms please check the parking platform the train at track number 15 is 6 4 [Music] in 34 we took our bags to Tokyo Station and stashed them in a locker so we could do a little sightseeing we went over to the Imperial Palace to see if we could get in but had just missed the last morning tour by about 30 minutes the next one would be too late as our reservations for the Shing Center were in just a couple more hours so we walked around for a little bit before returning to the station we got burgers at what was built as an English pub then we got some souvenirs at the shops including the Tama shop and got snacks for our train trip [Music] sometimes Welcome to this express station before arriving at number 18 station is in [Music] Take one leaving more than enough time we got our bags and went to the shing fun and platform really we didn’t have to go so early but since it was our first time we were a little nervous at first we went to the wrong platform so it was good that we went early but then we learned how to properly identify where we should be the Shing Tan Sun was clean and spacious i think the one we had that day was actually a little fancier than the later ones we had but all of them were awesome and fast i think on that train or maybe it was a later one we got them to around 177 mph according to my husband’s iPhone you can see that you’re moving fast but on the inside of the train you you feel very stable and safe i was even able to get up and go to the bathroom with no problem and there was plenty of room for luggage on this first shining concept which had only two seats on each side we put both bags up top one being a carry-on size and the other being a regular check bag size that was not overly large for future trains where there were three seats on each side we simply put the carry-on overhead and kept the larger bag in front of our legs beneath the food train and it was still roomier than an airplane even with the bag there heat heat [Music] [Music] [Music] after disembarking in Shizuoka we found our hotel was very close to the station the room was slightly larger than the last one maybe a few inches on each side this made a huge difference in terms of being able to open our suitcases which meant our room would be much less messy we went out to eat and explore we found another cocoa curry and ate there since we enjoyed the first location it was just as tasty but slightly different from the Tokyo location the curry was mostly the same maybe maybe the a little bit of a different flavor and the things that you could add were different as well after we ate there we ended up finding the street with more restaurants go figure given the long travel day we didn’t stay out too long just long enough to shop for some necessities and explore a few alleyways there was shopping everywhere uh and then also Nomi Hodai which means all you can drink there were also less tourists in this area probably because we weren’t staying behind a major temple like we were back in Asaka the forecast for the next day was rain which we were disappointed about but it couldn’t be helped [Music] well that’s it for this video if there’s anything you want to know more about put it in the comments below i’ll post the next video tomorrow so make sure to like and subscribe for more

I’ve got over 5,000 pictures/videos in my phone from our trip to Japan that I want to share. So, I’m breaking them out into one video for each day, plus other videos as shorter extras for the individual videos from our phones and GoPro. This is the fifth day. Hope you enjoy 😊

One last visit to Sensouji to get a goshuin, then off to Tokyo Station for some lunch and our first shinkansen ride. Shinkansen is definitely the most comfortable way to travel! The hotel room was slightly more spacious than the one in Tokyo. Another Coco Curry for dinner and exploring alleyways before bed. Lots of places with shopping, karaoke, and nomihoudai (all you can drink).
