This hotel offers not just luxury, but also a full hotring experience, a stylish bar, and an exclusive lounge for Marriott Bonvoy members. We’ll show you inside a deluxe king room, share our hot spring moment, and take you to the bar with a stunning view of Sakurajima. Let’s check out why this hotel is becoming one of Kagoshima’s hottest new stays. Let’s start with the location. Sheridan Kagoshima is located in Takarab Cho, just a minute’s walk from Takinohashi tram stop or an 8minut drive from Kagoshima Chuo station. If you’re arriving from Kagoshima Cho station, there’s a free hotel shuttle bus that runs about every 30 minutes. It departs from bus stop number three on the first floor of the Kagoshima Cho Terminal building next to the Caria Nishetsu Hotel. If you’re driving, there’s a dedicated parking area next to the hotel, the Kirki Nangoku parking. The multi-level parking structure holds about 500 vehicles and is shared with a hospital and commercial facilities. For hotel guests, parking costs 1,500 yen per night per car. Regular visitors pay 150 yen for 30 minutes. Reservations are not accepted. As you step into the hotel, the spacious and open lobby welcomes you. The soaring ceiling and airy atmosphere immediately make you feel at ease. Natural wooden textures and stylish furnishings create a calm and luxurious living room vibe. It’s the perfect first impression for a relaxing stay. Now, let’s take a look at the room. After checking in and passing through the open, airy lobby, you walk down a long, elegant hallway with a high ceiling and a calm, modern atmosphere. The quietness of the corridor sets the tone for a relaxing stay. And here is the room we’ll be staying in. As soon as you open the door, the refined interior and the stunning view take your breath away. Let’s start with the bathroom. It features a spacious vanity area with a large mirror and a sleek openstyle shower room that feels airy and refreshing. You’ll find all the essential amenities from toothbrushes and hair brushes to shampoo and body wash. So even if you forgot something, you’re covered. The mini bar is well stocked and the fridge comes with complimentary water and soft drinks. Once you draw the curtains, natural light floods the room, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. With the view outside and the comfortable space, it’s a perfect setting to unwind and relax. Now, let’s head up to the 18th floor, home to the Sheridan Club Lounge. This exclusive space is reserved for guests staying in club rooms or suites. However, even if you’re staying in a standard room, you can still access the lounge for an additional fee. Rates and availability may vary, so be sure to ask at the front desk during check-in. If you’re looking to elevate your stay with a little extra luxury, the Sherin Club is a great option to consider. Just look at this incredible selection of drinks. As you’d expect from Kagoshima, there’s an impressive variety of shou, especially sweet potato shou. Of course, there’s also a wide selection of hard liquor, including whiskey, brandy, and gin. Grab your favorite drink, find a seat with a view of Sakurajima, and savor the moment in style. Plus, you’ll find sake, champagne, and both red and white wine. It’s the perfect place to relax and indulge in a luxurious evening. There’s also a wide variety of tea available. Since this is Kagoshima, you can enjoy locally sourced teas like Kagoshima Cha and Chiran Chop, both hot and cold. In the fridge, you’ll find plenty of juice options. Not freshly squeezed, but still refreshing and pleasant to sip on. And of course, the stunning view of Sakurajima from this lounge makes every drink taste even better. It’s a truly relaxing moment, sipping while enjoying such an iconic view. Now, let’s take a look at the light snacks corner. In addition to the usual items like bread, cheese, and ham, there’s something unique to this region. Satsuma aa. Satsuma aa is a local specialty made from minced fish, deep fried to perfection. It has a slightly sweet flavor and tastes even better when warmed. It’s these kinds of local touches that make the Sheratin Club experience in Koshima feel extra special. And here’s another highlight you shouldn’t miss. Fresh vegetable sticks served with Kagoshima style pork miso. This sweet and savory miso paste is mixed with tender pork and is famous throughout Japan for its rich flavor. It pairs perfectly with plain veggies and makes a surprisingly delicious snack with drinks. It’s a true local delicacy that adds depth to the lounge experience. Now, let’s take a moment to talk about the hot springs at this hotel. Surprisingly, Sherin Kagoshima offers a natural onsen with free flowing spring water, a true rarity in a city hotel. The onsen area is located on the fifth floor. Although filming wasn’t allowed, at the end of this wide corridor, you’ll find a foot bath area, indoor bath, open air bath, sauna, and even a spa. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a long day of travel. Soaking in the natural mineralrich waters is the ultimate way to relax and reset in pure comfort. As you step off the elevator, you’re greeted by a stunning display of wines. It immediately sets the tone for a sophisticated evening. Inside you’ll find a chic and cozy atmosphere perfect for winding down. While the indoor seating is lovely, we chose to sit outside on the rooftop terrace. The sofa seating was incredibly comfortable, and they even provided warm blankets for the cool evening air. Here’s a look at the menu. For snacks, they offer nuts, smoked pork jerky, and even light meals like mini burgers. It’s the perfect menu whether you’re in the mood for a quick bite or a full drink and dine experience. We enjoyed whiskey and Kagoshima’s signature sweet potato shoe on the rocks. And since they were running a seasonal Okinawa fair, we also tried some limited edition tropical cocktails. So colorful and fun. The rooftop bar felt spacious and open, offering a truly relaxing atmosphere. With a gentle evening breeze and cozy sofa seating, we enjoyed a stunning night view of Kagushima City from above. It was the perfect place to unwind.
