【Fukuoka, Japan】A night food tour to enjoy Fukuoka’s charming gourmet food (Part 2)

This time, we will be bringing you a food tour of Fukuoka. Please enjoy this video, along with Part 1, which was released last time, until the end. So, please continue from the last video! Now, let’s enjoy the sweets from “Ito King” that we took out in the last video. I bought these two. This one is “Dora King Nama” (435 yen) with a whole Amaou strawberry. I think I’ll start with this “Ama Panna” (398 yen). It’s a panna cotta with Amaou. Wow, there are lots of strawberries. Layers of strawberry jelly and panna cotta. This must be delicious. Let’s eat. Ah, this is delicious. I was expecting it to be sweet like jam, but it’s lighter than I expected. Still, I can really feel the sweetness of the strawberries♪ The pulp is luxurious. The panna cotta underneath is also rich and not overpowered by the sweetness of the strawberries. This is definitely delicious♪ It’s a sweet treat that makes a great reward. For now, I’ll finish the “Ama Panna” as quickly as possible… Next, I had the “Doraking Nama”. Wow, it’s so chewy you wouldn’t think it was a dorayaki. There’s a strawberry inside. It’s quite puffed up because of the large strawberry inside. Yes, the strawberry is delicious. Even though it’s hidden inside the dorayaki, it’s juicy and full of juice. The sweetness of the cream is well balanced and the strawberry is delicious. Actually, I was curious about the salted vanilla “Doraking Nama”. Unfortunately, it was sold out… I’d like to buy it next time. I finished the “Doraking Nama” in no time. Lastly, I had the “Yoguruppe Hinata Natsu” that I found at a convenience store. It’s been a while since I’ve had “Yoguruppe”. It’s my first time having Hinata Natsu. Wow, it seems to have a stronger flavor than the plain “Yoguruppe”. I had the impression that it was a light lactobacillus drink, but it feels like the richness of Hinata Natsu has been added. It was a luxurious fruit festival of strawberries from Fukuoka and Hinata Natsu from Miyazaki. I worked until the night while leisurely drinking “Yoguruppe”. So, night in Fukuoka. I got on the bus and headed for the Tenjin area. After getting off at the bus stop in Tenjinkita, I headed for the first shop. Ah, there it was. I found the shop I was looking for♪ First, I went to a food stall that I had longed to visit in Fukuoka. The name of the stall is “Happotei”. In front of me was oden and teppan, which made me excited♪ It was small and cozy, and had a nice atmosphere. There were wheels at the feet of the seats, and they assemble the food stall here every day. It’s nice, just having beer at a food stall makes me drunk. Ah, did I put in too much? Ah, it seems fine. Ah, it’s delicious… It feels strange that the warm air is blowing outside. Well, then, what should I order… I looked at the menu and there was a dish that caught my eye first. Here it is♪ I really want to eat this. Mentaiko rolled omelette (720 yen). It’s enough for one person to eat. Come to think of it, I ate it the last time I came to Fukuoka? That brings back memories. It looks delicious when it’s freshly made… Let’s eat. Yes, it’s delicious♪ The warm omelette and the crunchy texture of the mentaiko are great. Of course, it goes well with beer♪ This is what I wanted to eat. It’s luxurious with plenty of mentaiko. The yakitori has also arrived♪ What a beautiful omelette. The sour mayonnaise goes well with it. The yakitori comes with one piece each of the “pork belly,” “gizzard,” and “chicken skin” that were on the menu. Just eating it at a food stall means you can taste it even without chewing it lol. It’s shining♪ Delicious♪ The saltiness is just right. I like chicken skin. I often buy it when I see it at convenience stores. Cold beer is also delicious. Come to think of it, it must be hard to keep it cold at a food stall like this. The crunchy texture of the “gizzard” is great, and the more you chew it, the more flavor it releases. Even so, the food stalls are moving around so fast. A person just paid 580 yen, but I wonder what they ordered…? That means one drink plus one dish, right? I wonder if they’ll go to another restaurant after this? While thinking about that, I found a menu item that caught my eye. What is this “baby ham”? Ah, this sausage. I often eat it in bento. It’s topped with something like mayonnaise sauce and green laver. I can imagine that this is also delicious. Yes, it’s delicious♪ It’s cooked just right and has a nice aroma. This makes beer even more delicious. This sweet mayonnaise sauce goes really well♪ By the way, is “baby ham” the local name? Actually, when I went to Hiroshima last year, I found a menu item that said “flower sausage,” a Hiroshima specialty. This is also a sausage that I’m used to eating. I wonder if there are many local sausages with different names like this? In any case, it was delicious as a snack with beer. And this is what I ordered for the end. It was cooked right in front of my eyes. “Yaki Ramen (720 yen)” was placed♪ It was full of vegetables♪ The noodles were white. It looked delicious…let’s eat! Ah, this is delicious. It looks white and light, but the saltiness is just right♪ It has a junky taste that suits a food stall, and I want to eat more and more. The vegetables are crunchy and delicious. If you add pickled ginger, it looks like tonkotsu ramen at once. The small amount of pork bone soup stock at the bottom of the plate mixes with it and is delicious. Even so, I thoroughly enjoyed my first Fukuoka food stall♪ I had an image of food stalls being along the river in Nakasu. But I was surprised to see food stalls lined up along the main streets like an office district. In principle, food stalls are only allowed to be operated by one generation, and it seems that the number of stalls is decreasing year by year. Recently, there have been public competitions for new food stalls, and there seems to be a movement to preserve them as a resource for Fukuoka. I certainly hope they will remain forever. Thank you for the meal! Well, I’m going to another food stall today. The next one I went to is “Koganechang”, which is located right next to Happotei. A local told me about this restaurant. And this restaurant has the menu I’m looking forward to. Before that, I’ll have a second toast with beer♪ Oh, it’s overflowing this time? Let’s eat♪ Ah, it’s delicious… I also ordered the salted horumon (650 yen), which was recommended. This is also very filling. It’s almost overflowing from the plate. First of all, the horumon. Yes, it’s delicious♪ The elasticity unique to the horumon is great. It’s crunchy and I want to keep chewing it. The vegetables are also well seasoned and delicious. It’s the perfect accompaniment to beer. But even so, it’s outside lol. Come to think of it, I sometimes eat outdoors, even if it’s not a food stall. It’s rare to have my back so close to the road. Well, I think I’ll order the menu I’ve been looking forward to at this food stall. That’s the recommended menu. Koganechang is apparently the restaurant where “yaki ramen” originated. It looked surprisingly soupy. The noodles were coated in tonkotsu soup and sauce. The pond on top is apparently the broth from the doteyaki. The mustard that came with it was a nice accent♪ I was really enjoying the Yaki Ramen, which had an interesting texture similar to a thick sauce, but… There was a camera error and the scene of me eating it wasn’t captured on camera… I’m sorry… I was the only one enjoying myself… There is no footage from this point on, so I will end my review of this restaurant here. Anyway, it was delicious and I ate it all up. I have had Yaki Ramen before, but the original had a new texture and was addictive♪ After enjoying the food stalls, we went to “Futoppara Tenjin Sohonten”. This was also a restaurant that a local recommended to us. The menu has a variety of dishes, including Fukuoka specialties. There was a menu item that caught our eye. It was this “Rasomen” that is said to be the perfect way to end a drinking party. It is said to be a hidden specialty of the Hakata area. Actually, we were planning to go to one more place . It was near Kogane-chan, so we decided to go there first. Here, we ordered oolong tea. While waiting while eating the appetizer “Satsumaage”. Wow, the presentation looks like cold somen noodles… But if you look closely, the noodles are quite thick. As the name suggests, the noodles are ramen. We dipped them in the soup. The visual is also completely somen noodles. Wow, this is another strange taste that we’ve never had before. The texture and smoothness are definitely not somen noodles. It’s ramen, but it’s frozen with ice, so it’s chewy and delicious♪ It goes down smoothly, and it’s just like somen noodles, so it’s easy to eat. And the soup was surprisingly sweet, which surprised me. It’s completely different from soba. The sweet soy sauce-based soup goes surprisingly well with the somen noodles. It’s light and a good way to finish off a meal. I finished it quickly and left the restaurant. It was delicious… Thank you for letting me know. If you come to Fukuoka and want to try something unusual, why not give it a try? Now, I’m going to take a leisurely walk to the last restaurant in Fukuoka. I’m at “Hakata Torikawa Daijin Sumiyoshi Kushibou.” As you can tell from the name, this is a yakitori restaurant that has delicious “chicken skin.” First, I’ll have a beer (530 yen). I’ll have another drink. I guess I’m drinking quite a bit for me? I’ll drink it slowly. Okay, it looks like I’ll be okay this time♪ Apparently, Fukuoka is the first place to serve cabbage at yakitori restaurants. First, I ordered a chicken skin skewer. Two each of salt and sauce (120 yen each). I had it the last time I came to Fukuoka, and it’s delicious. First, a sip of beer. Ah, it’s delicious… I could drink it many times over. Let’s start with the sauce. It’s delicious and chewy. The unique texture of crispy outside and chewy inside is addictive. It’s a luxurious delicacy with condensed flavor. From the counter, you can see a mountain of chicken skin in the kitchen. Watching them grilling whets your appetite. What’s great about this restaurant is that you can eat both sauce and salt. The salt has a crispier texture and a more fragrant feel than the sauce. First, I slowly enjoyed the beer and chicken skin, and then ordered a variety of other skewers♪ In no particular order, I ordered the skewers one after the other. The first thing that came was the “nankotsu” (pork bones) which had a great texture. The crunchy texture was the best♪ This also went great with beer. I also ordered garlic and my favorite “thigh meat”. I like the flavor and elasticity of the fat in the “thigh meat”. It’s rare to see onions sandwiched in between. There was also pork belly and coarsely ground sausage. I ordered this without thinking, but it was super delicious. “Beef hanging” with chicken meat. I ordered juicy “Tomato Roll” and large “Chicken Wing”. As expected, I can’t stop eating skewers. Finally, I ordered a second serving of pork belly. After ordering squid skewers… I ordered the original chicken rice, which also looks good as a final dish♪ (360 yen). Just looking at it makes me feel relieved. I crumbled the rice ball inside soaked in soup stock… Wow, it’s delicious… It has a gentle taste as expected. I added ingredients such as chicken and ginger. Even though it was a final dish, I ate it all in one go lol. Wow, 13 skewers, I’m full… Finally, I drank the special soup that was served for free. I ended my long-awaited stay in Fukuoka with great satisfaction and returned to the hotel. Next Day. I always feel a little sad when I go home. So, to keep the travel feeling going for a little longer. I bought some mentaiko quiche that was sold at “Fukuya”, which is famous for its mentaiko. I haven’t tried it yet, so I decided to buy it. I sat on the bench♪ It was creamy and delicious. It was a little spicy and had a lot of mentaiko flavor. It was freshly made, quite warm, and the crispness was still there, which was nice. It was good to eat while waiting. Thank you for the meal! After eating, I bought souvenirs. I found something interesting this time too. I’m interested in things like this. Well, it’s been a while since I’ve been to Fukuoka, so thank you for watching this time. I hope you’ll watch again next time. Finally, the souvenirs I bought in Fukuoka. Fukuoka Gourmet TourComplete. Souvenirs. It’s been a while since I’ve been to Fukuoka, so I started looking for a souvenir from the standard. While thinking that, I found a unique type of mentaiko. I tried a flavor that I was interested in. I bought four types in total and went home. I immediately prepared rice and opened them. The butter was as rich as I expected. It has a moderate flavor and is probably the closest to regular mentaiko. This feels like herring roe mixed with mentaiko. The appearance and texture are completely herring roe, and it’s delicious and comforting. This really has a lemon flavor. It was a flavor that would go well with pasta or Western food. Personally, my favorite was the salmon fatty cod roe. The texture of the salmon was firm and it was delicious. It was quite luxurious to have four of them lined up. It’s nice to have this kind of unusual cod roe sometimes. If you’re interested, please check it out. Please also see the next video!

  1. Wow, that looks delicious! Fukuoka's noodle dishes are noteworthy. There are many ways to eat hot and cold noodles.
