【Travel Vlog】女生新潟獨遊 Day1|4400円超高質廚師發辦・隱世山上咖啡店・新潟站前好壞參半飯店開箱・白山神社・單車遊新潟市|Chloememories

Today, I’m starting my solo trip! So, I arrived at Tokyo Station in the morning. Stepping into a new place I’ve never been to ~ Niigata! There’s still some time, so first, I’m going to a nearby store to look for something~ I found it! This is a keychain with Japanese railway music. Does this music make you feel like you’re back in Japan in one second? Next stop is Ekiben-ya Matsuri. Here, they offer more than 150 types of bento choices every day. Railway bento is a ritual when riding the Shinkansen. I must prepare one~ Haha! Following the locals, I chose this Salmon Ruibe-zuke Assorted Seafood Bento. This time, I’m taking the 09:12 Shinkansen to Niigata. I bought the JR Pass online and selected a reserved seat. 09:12 departure, Toki 311. Departing! I’m really looking forward to this trip! Let’s take a look at this railway bento~ The bento is made with wild salmon from Hokkaido. It’s full of marinated salmon, salmon roe, salmon slices, and salmon paste. Haha~ I always break the chopsticks every time. Do you have any tips for separating them perfectly? Every bite is salmon, so blissful! When I saw this natural scenery, I knew we were almost there! In just over an hour, I arrived in Niigata City from Tokyo. Today’s plan is to first explore around Niigata City. First, I’m checking my luggage at HOTEL GLOBAL VIEW next to the station. I’ll introduce this hotel at the end of the video. The first stop in Niigata is the Yasuda Yogurt specialty store. Yasuda Yogurt is a famous dairy product store in Niigata. Their yogurt is made with fresh milk, with a rich and creamy texture. But this time at the specialty store, I want to try something you can’t buy elsewhere. This is it! Super rich milk ice cream! The ice cream has a very soft and smooth texture. The strong milk flavor fills your mouth. The taste isn’t too sweet or cloying. I really like it! If you’re traveling for a few days or with friends. I recommend buying this dairy product lucky bag! It’s great value~ One way to travel around Niigata City is to buy the Sightseeing Loop Bus One-Day Pass. For just 500 yen, you can use the loop bus all day for sightseeing in the city. You can buy it at the tourist information center in Niigata Station. To use it, scratch off the date with a coin. At bus stops marked for the Sightseeing Loop Bus, you can board unlimited times in one day. You can refer to the timetable in the booklet provided when purchasing. The sightseeing bus is small and cute! But if it’s a holiday and crowded, queue up early~ Secretly telling everyone, if the weather is good. And if you know how to ride a bike, you can choose another way to tour Niigata City. Niigata City is a bicycle-friendly city. When I discovered this method, I immediately gave up waiting for the bus~ The method of use is not difficult~ Just find these red bicycles in the city. Download the Bike Share app and link your credit card. Then you can select and use a nearby bicycle. Please remember to follow traffic rules and stay safe! Next, I found a relatively hidden coffee shop. The coffee shop is halfway up the hill. You need to walk up a short slope and stairs. It doesn’t open many days or hours. If you see this red flag, it’s open~ The blackboard outside the store lists today’s food offerings. You can place your order at this spot next to the door. My favorite is this Japanese wooden-style decor. The entire coffee shop is filled with baking aromas~ If the outdoor balcony is open, you can enjoy the breeze and take photos there. The scone is baked just right, with a fragrant butter aroma! Today’s scone comes with lemon curd and cream. The scone isn’t too dry. Mix the lemon curd and cream and spread it on the scone. The sour-sweet flavor pairs well with the scone. The cafe latte tastes a bit mild. Personally, I prefer a stronger coffee flavor. I spent a very peaceful hour here. I really like the atmosphere of this coffee shop. When leaving, I saw a beautiful view from outside the coffee shop~ Riding the bicycle back to the city center again. This is a shopping street with few people and very quiet. You can find some vintage clothes, boutiques, small restaurants, and more here. If you like vintage clothes, why not come treasure hunting. I found a nostalgic clock shop here. When I was a kid, we seemed to have a clock like this at home~ So nostalgic!! They sell all kinds of Niigata specialties here. No photos inside, so I’ll leave it for you to explore~ Suzuki Coffee, with 50 years of history, has many branches in Niigata. The one in Kamifurumachi specializes in coffee beans. The most famous is the Yukimuro coffee beans. Selected coffee beans are stored in a “snow room” and slowly matured. Creating a mild and rich flavor, it’s a unique coffee from the snow country! Another one that caught my eye is the coffee beans with whiskey aroma. Raw coffee beans are placed in whiskey barrels. This allows the beans to absorb the whiskey’s aroma! Suzuki Coffee’s beans are very unique. Please don’t miss them! I also bought a few to take home and taste~~ Walking along Kamifurumachi shopping street, you’ll see the large torii gate of Hakusan Shrine. Hakusan Shrine is famous nationwide for matchmaking. It has over 1000 years of history. As the guardian deity of Niigata. Hakusan Shrine is revered by many people, including Niigata citizens. The ema (votive plaques) at Hakusan Shrine feature Hello Kitty. The shrine’s website says you can buy them to take home as souvenirs. Each one is filled with the blessings of Hakusan Shrine. The monthly goshuin (shrine stamps) at Hakusan Shrine are also very unique. There are also fortunes with special shapes. Each type represents a different meaning. I decided to choose this one! Hakusan Shrine limited edition good luck rice ball fortune, homophonic with “matchmaking”~ It’s small and so cute! You can choose to leave the little rice ball here or take it home! Kawaii!!!! Sushi Senryu is a casual omakase restaurant I discovered by chance. There are only 11 seats. This time, I chose the 10-piece set for just 4400 yen (October 2024). Using fresh ingredients from Niigata. Quick look at what I ate~ First, a bowl of warming miso soup. Then various catches from Niigata and Sado. Each one is very fresh. The vinegared rice portion and flavor are just right. I super love this Niigata specialty – Nanban shrimp sushi! The 10-piece portion is actually quite sufficient. But in the end, I added the delicious yuzu vinegar shirako~~ The restaurant has a great atmosphere. The chef is very friendly. It’s a restaurant I’ll return to. It’s really worth eating here! Sushi Senryu has limited seats, remember to call ahead for reservations~ Evening snack time after returning from the hotel’s public bath. I was attracted by this dessert in the mall. It’s a puff filled with red bean paste and custard! The puff is crispy on the outside, but unfortunately a bit too sweet. After eating, today’s journey comes to an end~ Good night! ❤️ At the end of the video, I want to introduce the hotel I stayed at this time. The hotel’s location is very convenient, right across from Niigata Station. The lobby has seating available. Coffee and tea are provided for guests to drink. After check-in, you can pick up clothes to wear to the public bath in the lobby. This time, I stayed in two rooms in total. Room 931 and Room 920 respectively. I only stayed one night in Room 931 before requesting a change. Because the moldy smell in the bathroom was really severe. Early the next morning, I couldn’t stand it and requested a room change. If you’re sensitive to smells like me. This hotel might not be suitable for you~ The second room I stayed in was Room 920. It also has a large bed, and the space is very spacious. There’s a large round table where you can do makeup or eat~ This time, the view is of Niigata Station still under renovation. The TV has smart TV functions, allowing you to watch Netflix, YouTube, etc. Overall, the room’s amenities are quite good. It’s rare for a hotel in a Japanese city to have such large space. The wall decoration is a map of Niigata. On the other wall, there’s a full-length mirror and hangers provided. The bathroom smell in 920 is a bit better. But in the end, I mostly used the public bath. The toiletries are very good POLA products. The hair dryer is Panasonic. Drinking water and in-room WiFi are provided. The fridge is a standard hotel mini-fridge. Finally, the public bath section. The bath area is a bit small. Please avoid peak times when using the public bath. The resting area outside the bath is thoughtfully decorated. Massage chairs are also provided. An entire wall is filled with manga for reading. That’s the introduction and my real experience of this hotel. Thank you for watching. See you in the next Niigata VLOG!!
