【12時間の激安船旅】阪九フェリー“雑魚寝”自由席で夜行フェリー旅|阪九フェリーやまと神戸ー門司
Today’s boat trip is 12 hours and 30 minutes! Please enjoy it until the end. Kobe, Sannomiya. Today, we will be heading to Fukuoka Prefecture from Hyogo Prefecture by boat. From Hankyu Mikage Station, we will walk to the bus stop. Since it is a long walk to the port, we will use the paid shuttle bus. This shuttle bus runs to the port of Hankyu Ferry as well as the port of Sanfuraha Ferry. The Kobe-Shin Moji route of Hankyu Ferry is about 454 km long and takes about 12 hours and 30 minutes. The ferry we will be boarding this time is Hankyu Ferry’s “Yamato”. This ferry was built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and launched in June 2020. It is 195.0 m long and looks great against the blue sky. If you make an online reservation, you will get 20% off the regular price! So I also made an online reservation the day before. I found a capsule toy of Hankyu Ferry. I didn’t see it the last time I boarded, so I wonder if it was recently introduced? There are two types of capsules: key chain type and assorted collection type. Payment cannot be made in cash, only QR code payment. The most advanced capsule machine. When I opened it, I won a key chain of the Hankyu Ferry’s mascot character “Funeko”. Now, let’s board! So , it’s been a while since I last rode the Hankyu Ferry! Wow! A futuristic design! This time, I stayed in the “Standard Japanese Room”, the most reasonable plan on the ferry, but it was a large room with a dormitory type. When I heard about a dormitory room, I was a little worried. It’s so beautiful! The standard Japanese room is a unisex unreserved seating for 14 people. Each partition has a free coin locker . When I opened it, there was a futon and a pillow inside. Other facilities are two outlets. There is a hook and a towel rack. I laid my futon in advance as a mark that “I’m using this place”. There are no sheets on either the mattress or the comforter. However, there was a sheet on the pillow. The futon is ready in no time. I hope there’s no one next to me… The lockers are convenient because you can put your luggage in them after laying the futon. There is a space in the corner of the room that becomes a changing room when you close the curtains. It looks like it will be okay to change clothes here? I take a walk inside the ship. This is the observation room. Anyone can use it freely. From the bow of the ferry, you can see the magnificent sea view. The concept of this ship is “A healing journey overlooking the starry sky and the sea” You can see the sky in 360 degrees. Ah! I found Sunflower! 18:30 Departure from Kobe Port. It’s a very quiet departure. Now it’s time for the exciting dinner. The dinner system on the Hankyu Ferry is that you pay only for what you order. Follow the instructions of the boatman to wash your hands, receive your tray, and move forward. Oh! I found the drink corner! Ah!! I want to drink a bottle of Coke! The Hankyu Ferry has a wide variety of food. The food is colorful and beautiful. In addition, there is a private chef on board, so the food is very delicious. There are many menus, so it’s hard to decide what to eat… This is the salad and sweets area. Isn’t the fruit platter amazing?! I decided on you. And the side dish corner. There are various dishes such as fish, tempura, and mapo tofu, but I chose sukiyaki. For miso soup, I chose clam. I’m happy that there is miso soup with shellfish. . . So here is my dinner! This is so luxurious to have on a ship. First of all, clam miso soup. Ah… It permeates every part of my body… It’s so delicious. The deep-fried tofu is also very large. It has a strong flavor. Delicious! The food on ferries is of high quality, no matter which company it is. After dinner, I headed straight to the shop. There are many “Funeko” goods on sale at the shop. “Funeko” stuffed animals, towels, handkerchiefs, key chains, etc. At the back of the “Funeko” area, there are snacks and drinks. Hankyu Ferry also sells bread baked on board. You can buy freshly baked bread in the morning! At the information counter, there is a route map to the Expo. This is quite easy to understand. I’m going to take a bath after this, so I bought a bath towel and a mysterious Funeko keychain. Funeko screw chocolate is done!! I’m curious, so I’ll buy that too. Finally, I bought the Hankyu Ferry’s Gofunein as a souvenir. The screw chocolate looks good as a souvenir. Inside is a Funeko sticker. Inside is a package of chocolates in the shape of nuts and bolts. It looks cute, but it also has the intricacy of a screw. The mysterious keychain allows you to move the Hankyu Ferry on the map. It’s surreal and fun. The Hankyu Ferry towel looks like this. It ‘s quite big! A cruising map is provided during the voyage, and it has an explanation of the islands and bridges that can be seen from the ship. During the Hankyu Ferry voyage, you will pass under three bridges. I can see the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge! There are a lot of people today! The ferry is almost full due to the Osaka Expo and summer vacation. I’m on a solo cruise among many families. Seeing people my age with their children touches my heart in many ways. I’m sure the time I spent on the cruise will be a lifelong memory. I’m going to carve my memories of the cruise alone. I’m going to wash away all my worries in the bath. The Hankyu Ferry is equipped with a large observation bath and an open-air bath. You can tell at a glance how busy the bath is by the color of the lighting. Photography is not allowed in the bath, so please use the monitor on the ship! The shower room is available 24 hours a day. The lights are turned off on the ship at 22:00. The only things that are open 24 hours a day are the slots and crane games that are familiar from the game corner. This time I’m going to try for 1000 yen. I hope I get something… Since it’s the Hankyu Ferry, I want some “Funeko” goods. Cut the string attached to the stuffed animal to get it. It looks easy at first glance, but the timing is very difficult… I can’t do this! Next!! I bet all my remaining money on this machine. It looks very difficult at first glance, but it is difficult after all… I got nothing this time. Give me my money back!! The ferry is currently sailing off the coast of Ehime Prefecture. Imabari Port is lit up even at night. We pass under the Great Seto Bridge, one of the world’s largest bridges for both railway and road use. It is 12,300 meters long and has been certified by the Guinness World Records. It is late at night, so there are many fewer people than when we were at the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. Wi-Fi is available on board, but it seems difficult to connect in some places. When I returned to the standard Japanese-style room, there was one other passenger. There were fewer people than I expected, so I felt like I got a little something out of it. It’s a little scary when the lights go out, but I’m going to go to bed now. Well, good night… Good morning everyone. It’s the second day of the Hankyu Ferry. Standard Japanese-style room passengers share the toilet and sink. The sink is spacious and very clean. By the way, you can drink as much water as you like. This is very appreciated. Now that we’re ready, let’s head to breakfast. Here is the breakfast menu. This time I’ll have the mackerel set meal. In addition to rice, miso soup, tamagoyaki, and mackerel, you can choose one designated side dish. In addition to the set meals, they also sell sweets such as waffles. Each dish is carefully wrapped, so you can rest assured about hygiene. I got the side dishes of hijiki and tamagoyaki, and also bought a salad for a healthy breakfast. Mojiko Port came into view. The ferry at anchor is the Hankyu Ferry “Hibiki”, which connects Osaka and Moji. You can see it quite close. And the Hankyu Ferry’s Mojiko Port Terminal is so cool! The terminal is modeled after Heijo-kyo in the Nara period. When the Hankyu Ferry docks, the handover of the rope is very calm. At 7:00am, we arrived at Mojiko Port right on schedule. There were so many people on board! Demand for ferries will continue to grow in Japan. After disembarking, a free shuttle bus will take you to Moji Station or Kokura Station. Where should I go next? Thank you for reading until the end.

I have yet to see any one of the Japanese YouTubers get a "Funeko Pillow!" Not fair to have it wrapped in slippery plastic, and then try to pick it up with a weak claw machine, SISH!!!
The kitty mascot is so cute!

Great trip. I like the quality of food onboard every ferry company in Japan. And yeah, every ferry company in Japan have own onboard restaurants policy, in terms of fare and portion of menu. The room feels private and huge if you staying alone, because it's sharing room.
That room is perfect for group travel.
Thanks for the ride.
