A Journey Through White | Japan Hokkaido Travel Film on Sony ZV-E1 ❄️

Lately, I’ve been thinking about the color white Not just as something we see, but something we feel White is often empty quiet still But on this trip, I saw it differently It became a color full of meaning It reminded me of beginnings Of warmth. Of comfort. Of sincerity. We arrived in Hokkaido during the first snowfall of our lives Not the first snowfall of the season— but the first time we’ve ever seen snow in person. We dragged our luggage through slush just to eat grilled lamb in Susukino And somehow, that cold… made the food taste warmer The world outside had gone silent Not because nothing was happening— but because snow has a way of softening everything We reached the land of white chocolate Shiroi Koibito A gentle and sweet place Simple Simple and Pure– like a white heart A symbol of unspoken bonds support support and honest love Winter animals at the zoo Penguins, Red Pandas, Wolf, Owl, Polar Bear, Seal in the snow Seal in the snow, unbothered Like they’ve always belonged there That night, it snowed harder But we ate the same meal again Maybe white isn’t just about stillness Maybe it’s also about repetition About the comfort of returning Every winter, snow falls and rewrites the land New shapes form Snow sculptures Snow sculptures, like memories, are fleeting A reminder that even the brightest moments are never promised to last But thats okay! White can mean a blank slate A beginning I fell a lot But I kept getting back up Maybe white teaches you that too— That falling is part of the process And what matters most, is the ability to start over, like fresh beginnings From the top of Mount Moiwa, I could see the entire city It looked small like a snow globe As soft music played in the distance like the soundtrack to a quiet snowy dream Shiro doesn’t mean emptiness It means space to begin It means noticing the warmth in cold places This was my journey through white It is now my favourite colour on a journey I hope I never forget

What if white wasn’t just a color…?

Join us on a cinematic journey through snowy Hokkaido — from the first snowfall we ever experienced, to quiet mornings, grilled lamb in Susukino, and shimmering snow festivals in Sapporo and Asahikawa. We explored winter zoos, shared warm meals, and found meaning in the stillness.

Shiro (白) became more than snow — it became a symbol of comfort, sincerity, and fresh beginnings.
