NAHA, OKINAWA: I search the blue Japan Sea for a TURTLE

good afternoon everyone we have made it to Okinawa and as per usual this has been a theme on this trip is every time I go somewhere they’re coming off a 56 day stretch of beautiful weather and as soon as I get there it starts pouring and right now it’s raining quite heavily and there are many puddles however that will not stop us and tomorrow we are also going snorkeling and hopefully this weather it slows down and we could go snorkeling in peace right now let’s just try and make it to the hostel and we’ll take it from there wow this is actually crazy rain the streets right now there are massive puddles everywhere my feet are soaked and it’s only been 5 minutes all right guys we’re going to be in trouble because even the small Pari sweat here is 130 so we might be in trouble this is going to be tough that mythical 120 is I’m starting to think it doesn’t really exist let’s keep looking around here i remember there was a vending machine that had the vitamin juice the godly vitamin juice for really cheap so we’ll see if we could find that vending machine maybe a bit of redemption for the lack of uh carry sweat at 120 and there it is that’s the vending machine that’s the one we’ll see if it still has the vitamin juice at 120 we’ll see that is a total monumental fail it does not have the vitamin juice that we’re looking for it’s a different brand of vending machine now incredibly unfortunate we continue to press on just had my first meal in Okinawa was tonkatu and chicken katsu from a place that’s not too far from where I’m staying a little bit more expensive than it would be on the mainland so it was good the two people who served me looked very angry to be taking my money but they were very polite at the same time now we’re going to maybe go find some ice cream okinawa is famous for that blue seal ice cream or maybe a milkshake that’s what we’ll see anyways we’ll check it out we’ll see what we decide to get we are in fact in flip-flops while the shoes dry we’re not going to head back to the hostel to switch out the socks dry the shoes and then we’re going to get ice cream maybe isn’t it nice when there’s no graffiti on the walls this park is one of the coolest parks that I’ve been to i’ve been here in September i got to come back weather sucks both times but it is what it is the rain did subside a little bit and we are now at this park there’s a lot more people than there were the last time I was here we were maybe five people in this entire park it’s not that big but nonetheless we were five it’s only about $3 to visit and it’s just so serene anyway I won’t speak much but rather I’m just going to showcase what it looks like but it’s just wow you got some fly imagine having something like this in your backyard that I think that’s one of the ultimate goals is to have something like this in your backyard can we come here can we walk i think we can all I want is a really big garage with a lot of space to park and a Japanese garden that’s all I want the pool has to be indoors it wouldn’t be outside in terms of outside only a Japanese garden feels like I’m in Uncharted 2 but at the end when they’re in Shambala and I keep bringing this up but this is how I feel really need to visit somewhere like Mongolia Tibet Bhutan Nepal these places with those mountainous regions there’s just something about that style of look and architecture anyways I said I wasn’t going to speak while we tour the gardens obviously I lied i’ll try not to speak imagine living in that apartment right there where every day outside your view is this park imagine you lived in this close proximity you get the yearly pass you just come walking around here every morning and how can I know anyway you understand what I’m getting at i’m already discouraged now just thinking about it you know exactly what I’m talking about yeah I’m living in a simulation it just doesn’t it doesn’t feel real like look at this walk-in it just doesn’t feel real and once again everybody disappeared in the park seems like somehow someway I always end up alone in a park but it just doesn’t seem real look at this walk-in look at this view and it’s quite dark outside but even dark like this just check this out yeah we’re Now I’m mad see now now I got mad now I’m mad because I’m thinking of the situation back home and how this isn’t back home and now I’m mad because I have to come all the way over here to see what I just saw sorry we just had to take a pause because I had to say some words that I’m not allowed to say on this video in my head so I said them in my head and we’ll resume with the video we will continue the tour around the park feel like I need to explain myself when I say I’m mad not that I’m mad but more so disappointed disappointed that I have to come here to see these things that I can’t just see this anywhere it’s disappointing the amount of effort that I have to exert to see parks like this when this is something that’s very achievable it’s very achievable where I am where I live where I spent most of my life very achievable hey look people left money is this uh is this what we’re supposed to do oh yeah look people people are just leaving money i feel like a lot of that might have fell into the water nonetheless I I was on something i was saying something about achievements wow you know what I just realized i forgot all about the ice cream how does this keep happening to me not now for real I’m mad let’s just keep walking in the park what’s going on over here i don’t know what’s going on you know what it is it’s too much brain rot that’s why I just keep forgetting these things especially when it’s important things just so much brain rot that’s clogging my mind so thankfully the tranquility and serenity that I am exposed to here in these parks will assist in reducing that well there’s at least two other groups of people here so I’m not alone that’s a good thing really because parks like this need to get used they need to be seen cuz then when I tell people about them they they just don’t understand so it’s good that people come here and see it for themselves well well well is that a bench let’s go down and check that out hopefully without falling here i almost just slipped and smashed my head on hard rock bench is a little bit wet and will likely stain my baby blue pants we’ll sit on it to get the full experience now I guess I’ll sit on it facing this way with the waterfall to my back or should I face the waterfall i feel like this was meant for me to face the waterfall let’s turn around let’s try both hell yeah i’m getting rained on right now time to get out of here i give that bench a solid eight an eight because remember it’s in a park so I’m taking off.5 we’re being a bit more strict and the bench itself is not very comfortable it’s uh a little bit dirty around get rid of some of those leaves and it would have to be pushed back a little bit it would have to be pushed back from the water maybe about like another five inches nonetheless it’s a good bench it’s a good bench definitely some some good thoughts if I was writing a story I’d sit on that bench and just generate mental lore speaking about speaking remember when I said I wasn’t going to speak and we were just going to get shots at the park once more we lied anyways for real now for real now we won’t we won’t speak heat heat hell yeah [Applause] when in that mountain cave I most definitely did not look up most definitely that’s That’s something we’re not going to do again it’s twice now we go in that cave we’re not doing it a third time come on come on let’s stop exaggerating here there’s water coming from the waterfall out of bamboo into another W come on come on it’s like they just had to do they they had to one up what was already six up imagine just standing on that rock right there imagine just standing on that rock and just reflecting on your life choices how how can you stay mad at yourself for any regrets if you’re standing on that rock just pensively thinking everything here just hits hard i’m telling you it’s it’s you can’t explain it unless you’re here just can’t explain it to someone it’s not the same all these no smoking signs are new i don’t remember any of these no smoking signs I’ve been seeing all over Okinawa which disappoints me quite a bit but I know there’s one specific group of tourists who just smoke anywhere and I know it’s because of them that they put these signs and you could even see the language that it’s written in and it’s that group of tourists because I’ve seen them smoke in places where you shouldn’t be smoking and it’s unfortunate because it ruins the aesthetic when you see these signs everywhere by the way look at the antithesis once more we’re going back to that word of the city streets and then you turn around and there’s this cafe that’s most definitely working at a net loss and then you get this do I have to say we’re we’re on the same wavelength here if you’ve been watching what I’ve been watching we’re we’re both like three four five steps ahead of what it is i’m think You know what I’m talking about if you know you know what I’m talking about all right you just know i don’t have to explain it you know who would understand this my cousins my cousins Jeff and Adam if they were here they would understand exactly what I mean with what I’ve been saying throughout this entire park visit they would understand me like you don’t even have to say it man you don’t even have to you just know you just know what I’m talking about look again if you don’t feel it then you just don’t know if you don’t feel it you’re just too consumed with things that don’t matter that only exist to consume you from being yourself to stop you from being yourself i I worded that horribly you get the point you just know You know what I’m talking about i said I wasn’t going to speak during this park visit but we’re going to cut out the part where I said that in all these parts where I say that I wasn’t going to speak so you won’t have any history or knowledge of any of these clips look even the fish know they know they know they know what I’m getting at when I say these things about being these serene places you know it it is frustrating at times and more so disappointing we could have this we could We should have this we deserve it we just don’t anyway that concludes the park visit we are now going to head out of the park and we shall commence with uh or shall I say continue with whatever adventures are brought our way this evening which perhaps is likely nothing might just go for a walk we’ll see whatever that brings we’ll take it from there we we’ll just do as we usually do we take it as we go this place needs some insane power washing might explain why it’s completely deserted power washing would make this place look insane i mean there’s moss all over the floor here it’s cracking tiles breaking tiles there’s no water here if that was all cleaned up I feel like realistically a group of people could probably do this in under a week they could clean this entire sort of pavilion plaza style park that’s right across the street of that other park that we went to this is just not really a park or maybe it is back there but I feel like there’s a lot of potential here to get a a good aesthetic this in itself is an aesthetic this sort of worn look but I feel like there’s a lot of potential here beneath all this moss i don’t know if that’s moss i’m just calling it moss because that’s what I’m associating the word with let’s be careful i don’t know what I stepped on but it was a little bit sharp where are we going now no let’s just go why are we asking just go it’s what I do whenever I travel i just go whatever happens I mean it is what it is you You either get it right or you learn you don’t make mistakes mistakes is when you do it at least two times the exact same way and both times get it wrong make a mistake once and you learn from it and it becomes a lesson i said all that wrong we’ll we’ll just just cut all that you got You got what I meant though i mean you’re picking up what I’m putting down that one I think I got right picking up what I’m putting down that one I got right okay it’s just an abandoned park man this keeps happening to me it just happened to me yesterday in Taiwan every time I get to a park I was hearing voices all over i get to the park now i was right there i was hearing a bunch of voices i get to the park nobody nobody i was just hearing kids playing in the park and now I get here and there’s no How does this keep happening i’m telling you it’s the simulation effect it’s like when you walk into something it’s like in Grand Theft Auto where the open world just has to spawn or despawns when you walk in how does this keep happening to me what’s going on on a side note there’s a lot of tourists here and the last time I was in Okinawa there was definitely not a lot of tourists but I’m seeing tourists everywhere particularly French tourists but back back to the We’re not going to We’re not going to lose focus this time what was I talking about oh yes why is it so empty what’s going on i was just hearing kids going down the slide when I was over there talking about the power washing and now there’s nobody’s nobody ever believes me when I say this you know I have the camera rolling now but even on the camera you know people still just won’t believe maybe we could use AI or something to put some kids here and we’ll just modify the entire clip where’s everyone there were people walking behind me where man we’re just going to keep moving swear to God there’s people now I’m going to turn off this camera and they’re going to show up oh there’s even a bell all right I don’t know what’s going on let’s just get out of here that bell is creepy it’s giving me some PTSD because it sounds like the bell of when recess was over at school and the only thing I liked at school was gym class and recess and now it’s that same bell what’s going on where’s everybody there was at least a dozen people here moments ago oh is that a vending m Oh it’s two vending machines imagine we find the vitamin water or And by the way I’m not talking about that vitamin water that we know of no I mean this i’ll show you guys and I I think I had it in one of the one of the Japan clips the the vitamin water the red one anyway and they do not have the vitamin water that I’m looking for nor do they have the mythical 120 yen picari sweat by the way this grape Fanta I’ve never had this anywhere but in Japan the grape Fanta and I only have it when I go to Matsunoya and I get the Katsu meal i’ll always take the grape Fanta if it’s offered I’m taking it 100% of the time that’s just the way it is it’s it’s it’s become a staple now it’s starting to rain pretty hard let’s get out of here where am I you know I start walking and I make it a point not to check my phone so I’ll basically not look at my phone for 30 minutes and I’ll say “We’re just going to walk not look at maps we just use you know the vision of things and we walk as such.” Why am I explaining this to you should we walk by here we came from there those clouds are not looking good i really hope my bag has an umbrella in it but those clouds are definitely not looking this only happens when I’m super far from shelter or an accommodation those benches are way too run down to even be acknowledged so we’ll keep going you know what that one has a look it’s run down but that one has a look let me show you guys you see the one right there next to that miniature tree that looks like it should be a really big tree see it’s like a double bench right here let me show you guys check out this bench right here now naturally that one is too close so this this one is too close it would have to be this bench but even at that though I don’t like the overhang but I feel like this tree should be much larger than it really is and you can see that it has been trimmed just about everywhere imagine people are just looking outside their apartments and saying “What’s that random foreigner just doing walking around this park with a camera pointed to his face?” You know what what about it come here we’ll have a street interview or something should we ask this guy for directions let’s ask him hey what’s up bud where can I find anything interesting all right being a little bit rude but nothing I didn’t anticipate i didn’t think he was going to be that friendly to me quite to be quite honest look at him all right stay there alone then i don’t know what to tell you he’s like mean mugging me that’s his problem i think I’m truly becoming unemployable at this point like these videos are not going to get any better it’s just more and more downhill the longer they go and I don’t mind that i mean this is the real deal this is the true expression or you know what it’s we’re we’re 80% there because the other 20% I just can’t express on camera but we’re 80% there this is real this is the real deal what I’m saying and what I do I’m not doing it for the camera i just have the camera rolling but I would be doing this either way and anybody who knows me knows that look how clean this one section is look at that how relatively clean it is over here if that other part of that park if right over there was this clean it would look insane it would be absolute oh is he about to back up into him i don’t know what’s going on with them but that was close they got very close i forgot what I was talking about but we press on cuz that’s what we do guys we just continue to press on you know what we’ll go super hard right now a McDonald’s Sunday and this time I for real know where to get one i know for a fact there’s a McDonald’s about 4 km that way i know for a fact don’t Don’t even try to to throw me off now don’t even try a McDonald’s sundae would go super hard right now or you know what a Blue Seal ice cream because Okinawa is known for Orion and Blue Seal orion the beer Blue Seal the ice cream so we’ll go have a Blue Seal ice cream unless it’s expensive in which case we’ll have a McDonald’s chocolate fudge sundae wow that sounds like a banger right now imagine having that right now like right here in this just like eating that sun okay you know we’ll cut the clip how do I just keep running on with these things this video is going to be so bad and I feel nobody will watch it but we’ll put it up anyway because it’s a matter of principle we must put it up as a matter of principle we will now head towards a sort of touristic main strip it’s just mostly stores selling the same touristic paraphernalia and restaurants that just yell at you to go in and have their food and they’ll have music and everything playing might not clip too much because of the copyright of the music and the music is usually loud and when you’re filming it captures it i’ll go take a walk down that street see if anything’s happening there might even be street performers there might not we’ll see yeah it looks like there’s way too many people in here so we’re just not going to get an ice cream should be another one or two down the street but nonetheless those are crazy lineups good morning everyone we completely forgot about the ice cream last night and then I ended up going back to the hostel once again to dry my shoes ended up speaking to a few people and spent the afternoon doing or should I say spent the evening doing that but this morning we are now on our way we just got off the bus we are on our way to go snorkeling and we are heading to the marina right now so we’re walking a very remote part here very early in the mornings nobody really around and that’s what we’re going to do we are now heading to the boat i’m wearing the swimsuit and hopefully we do not get seasick this time the boat is supposed to be called Love so we’re looking for a boat called Love [Music] abs okay entry okay b team entry okay yes everywhere okay everywhere okay right side thank you hey see B oh yeah come on there you go heat heat [Music] we are searching for a turtle we will find one i’m confident we’ll find a turtle [Music] [Music] [Music] round one done two more to go hopefully we will find the turtle i believe I believe we will find All right we are getting ready for round two it’s cold just go one shot [Applause] this is very cold water those turtles little turtles ah still on the lookout for that turtle we will find one somewhere hopefully [Music] [Music] [Music] heat up [Music] [Music] here [Music] oh yeah [Music] [Music] [Music] what the heat [Music] [Music] all right round two done still didn’t find a turtle but we’ll keep looking all right round three let’s go find a turtle let’s head in the water boom turtle we found the turtle turtle over here did you Did you see it did you see the turtle yeah it’s a big one can I ask you a photo thank you hell yeah [Music] keep coming we did it made it we saw the turtles we’re somewhere in the water but we did it we succeeded time to head back and have an incredibly rough trip back and we are off we are now heading back to the mainland of Okinawa the videos don’t do it justice but this is actually crazy this is this is much these waves are much bigger than they look maybe that’s the next uh adventure that we’ll do we’ll see we’re almost about to land and uh we’ll get off this boat successful day we did it we are back on land we made it highly worth it definitely a good trip the water was good the trip was good the weather was good we saw the turtles hugely successful snorkeling experience nobody got sick on the boat probably a 9.5 experience still thinking about it what a successful snorkeling experience really bad weather these past few days somehow today it all went away somehow so I don’t know what happened but look finally we caught a break so we have in fact caught a break this time guys we leave Okinawa only tomorrow so now we’re going to head back towards the hostel take a proper shower change some some of my clothing and we’ll take it from [Music] there never heard that spin on it but hey that’s I guess that’s what they say here no pain no muscle that thing is terrifying spam Orion and Blue Seal is all you find here on the TE’s for Okinawa i went and eat some guatsu i’ll post a photo somewhere it’s basically like tonkatu or chicken katsu except it’s a wagyu filt in addition to that I then went in search for ice cream but I just wasn’t hungry enough [Music] interesting little basketball court we have here there’s a beach up ahead we’ll head there and see what that looks like blue Water Beach except there’s a bridge and a harbor blocking the view of the sea nonetheless it is blue water quite unfortunate though that there’s that highway oh well we need to be at the airport in about an hour or so but figured we’ll go for a nice little stroll and see what we find quite unfortunate that there’s uh the highways but you know maybe the highway was there first they built the beach afterwards whatever it is I mean as long as people get to use the beach that’s really what matters people get good use of it it is blue water i mean you see it take the beach but there’s a highway but it’s close to the city so pros and cons where are we going and we will cap off the video we’re going to be heading back towards the accommodation pick up my bag and then we will go to the airport for real this time once again thank you for watching hope it was somewhat enjoyable maybe informative or whatever you just had on auto play while you were doing other things check out this table i know you see it i saw it too with the sun beating on half the bench like that just here in the wilderness had to stop to acknowledge us too much vegetation around though i don’t like that the grass around it isn’t properly manicured the bench itself is very cool it’s like a slab of wood i’ll still give it a 7.5 we’ll give that one a seven look at the sun look how it beads just on the bench just felt right had to stop to review that one now for real we’re going to cut the clip
