Stepping into a Serene Masterpiece: Byodoin Temple & Uji Tea | Kyoto, Japan

Hello! Today we will visit the Byodoin (Temple of Equality)
in the city of Uji in Kyoto Prefecture. Arrived to the entrance. Map of Byodoin Temple. Byodoin is a Buddhist temple built in the late Heian period
and is an UNESCO World Heritage site. Making our way to the iconic Phoenix Hall. Dozens of lotus pots are placed around the precinct
when Lotus blooms in late June to August. One of the lotus pots. The most celebrated structure, the Phoenix Hall, was built in 1052. It is the only original building remaining,
gracefully surrounded by a scenic pond. The breathtaking Phoenix Hall appears to float
serenely on the tranquil waters. The Byodoin experience isn’t complete
without savoring the local specialty – Uji tea! We will enjoy authentic Uji matcha at 茶房 藤花 (Sabo Toka),
the exquisite tea house on the temple grounds. Uji Matcha We ordered refreshing chilled matcha (冷抹茶)
and their original confectionery “Shiun” (紫雲). Getting immersed in the flavors and tranquility of this historic setting –
a perfect way to appreciate the true essence of Uji. Thanks for watching!
