Shizuoka to Kyoto – Japan 2025 (8 of 18)

hey y’all all right now we’re on video eight of our series displaying pictures from our trip to Japan over 5,000 of them i had to separate them out into different days enjoy [Music] thank you [Music] out of Since it was a Shinkansen day we went ahead and packed up before getting breakfast at breakfast we chatted with the old man from the day before plus a Japanese mother and daughter who currently live in California rather than take our luggage to the station we left it at the hotel and set out to explore a bit before making our way to the train station [Music] [Music] we finally made it over to Hodaii Temple which was right behind our hotel and was something we’d been wanting to check out but had been running out of time each day this temple was much quieter than the other ones we visited definitely more for people who come to pray than for tourists very serene the garden was perfectly maintained and they even had a rock and sand garden which I later found out for my sensei is actually not very common [Music] [Music] heat heat [Music] [Music] after getting our bags we went to the station and grabbed some Eky Ben station bento for the ride which was going to be longer than any of our other rides but still only half as long as it would have taken to I got a beautiful sushi arrangement and my husband got some barbecue chicken and potato we also got a sakura custard bread for snack and ate some yaki tori while sitting outside and people watching [Music] you know [Music] hey every [Music] Heat [Music] speech do you think you are [Music] [Music] The Shinkhan ride this time was even more scenic than the first one although the train was more packed as well we arrived in Kyoto and got checked into our hotel our room was much more spacious than the first two hotels but the bed was just as hard there was only one pillow so we had to ask for more thankfully this hotel was accommodating as the last one was not this hotel also had a communal bath which I didn’t try that day but during the next two nights of our stay I really enjoyed it [Music] [Music] hey [Music] [Music] hey hey [Music] [Music] [Music] hey [Music] hey hey [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] hey everybody [Music] [Music] hey [Music] hey hey [Music] hey [Music] [Music] hey hey [Music] hey [Music] hey hey [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] heat heat hey hey down since it was late by the time we got settled in we decided to try using Google Maps again to find a food place there was an izakaya with high ratings and we wandered over to it but it was full up so we decided to just locate one the way we usually did and found that we didn’t have to go far the izakaya we stopped into was very cute and the food was delicious what could we do except get some karag some katsu rice omelette salad and drinks [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] while wandering the streets after dinner we saw a commotion going on over at Toji Temple there was a crowd and police directing vehicles through the gates we went to see what was going on and it turned out to be the Dior fashion show for 2025 there was a girl there who was trying to see if she could spot some famous people but said it was really going to be easiest to just watch it on the live stream the temple was lit up beautifully and music was playing to end the night we got ice cream at a Kini and wandered back to the hotel while Shizuoka was not as densely populated as Tokyo Kyoto seems more spread out than both Tokyo and Shizuoka and not so much tall and narrow and squashed together [Music] well that’s it for this video if there’s anything you want to know more about put it in the comments below i’ll post the next video tomorrow so make sure to like and subscribe for more

I’ve got over 5,000 pictures/videos in my phone from our trip to Japan that I want to share. So, I’m breaking them out into one video for each day, plus other videos as shorter extras for the individual videos from our phones and GoPro. This is the eighth day. Hope you enjoy 😊

Packed up and left the bags at the hotel so we could visit Hodaiji before heading to the station. The shinkansen ride this day was even more scenic than the first one, although the train was a little more packed than before. After settling in at the hotel, which was an even bigger room, we had dinner at an izakaya. Then we wandered the streets and stumbled upon the Dior fashion show over at Toji Temple. We finished the night with ice cream from a konbini.
