Shamijima Beach is located in Sakaide City, Kagawa Prefecture.
The beach sits on Shamijima Island, a peaceful place known as a venue for the Setouchi Triennale art festival and a spot with historical ties to ancient Japanese poetry.
It is officially selected as one of Japan’s “100 Best Swimming Beaches” by the Ministry of the Environment.

Hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (lifeguards on duty)
Admission: Free
Parking: Around 40 spaces (¥500/day)
*Note: The Nakanda Beach parking lot will be closed during the 2025 summer season.
Located near the foot of the Seto Ohashi Bridge, Shamijima Beach is a small and quiet beach—
a hidden gem perfect for a relaxing summer escape in Kagawa.
