Tokyo Travel Diaries: Exploring Harajuku, Japanese Snacks, and More!!

We’ve made it to Tokyo. Oh my god. Great wreck. So good. Egg salad sandwich and some chicken fammy. This is a really big deal. [Music] Good morning. We’ve made it to Tokyo. I cannot believe I’m back here in less than like it’s been what, a few months. This is crazy. Ollie and I had a late flight. Like we we left home at like 1:00 a.m. Our flight was slightly delayed. So by the time we got here, it pretty much was like 4:00 or 5:00 a.m. and we are wide awake. Taking advantage of actually being awake early. I vlogged a few weeks ago. That actually might have been like one of the last few vlogs. Ollie’s never been here and it’s his birthday week, which is extra special. So obviously I brought Ashley and my mom last time and I thought this was the perfect time to bring Olly. We had a pretty last minute invite. We’re here with guest guest jeans. They’re opening a store here. I believe like Haruku or like Shabuya area. We’re staying in Shabuya right now. So honored. They literally wanted us here. On top of it, Rim and Cal are coming. So like they’re going to have like their little mini honeymoon. Not like the real honeymoon, but they were on a separate flight, so they should be landing really soon. And I’m just so excited to be here and explore and show Ali one of my favorite cities in the entire world. I’m really, really, really hoping we have time to go to Kyoto this trip because I’ve yet to go to Kyoto. I’ve only been to Tokyo in Japan. And obviously, there’s so many other beautiful places here in Japan. So, I’m so excited to see Yuka and my niece and my nephew. So, I’m so excited. So, let’s get ready. I’m like geeking. I’m so excited. Also, oh my god, shout out to guest because we the way that it happened when we landed. I think the hotel accidentally messed up that our room basically, long story short, our room wasn’t ready. They were so sweet and they were able to get us in a room until we can go into our other room later. So, we’re going to be switching rooms, but it was so sweet of them. We literally got here at like 6:15 in the morning. And they’re like, “Oh, you don’t have a room until 3:00 p.m.” And we were like, which is so f Look, happens. It’s totally fine. But I more was like, “I would just love to I’d love to shower. I would love to shower.” And guest was awesome. And they literally like, next thing I know, we’re here. So, very sweet. Not taken for granted. That shower I just had, not taken for granted. Me brushing my teeth. Oh my god. When I I feel like a new person. The flight was like 11 hours. We were delayed a little bit, but it actually worked out better cuz then we would have been here even earlier without a room. We probably would have been here at like 5. Okay, I did forget my beauty blender, which I’m kind of shocked how that happened. So, I need to add that to my list of things that I’d like to get over here. I can obviously just use a brush for today. Ew, it’s all dirty. Okay, this is like one of my favorite Korean sunscreens of the moment. Dr. G. Oh, I think I have another one. Thank god, guys. I was packing like a mad woman last night. I knew I had another one. I’m pretty much out. But again, this is the perfect place to be out of skin care stuff. Okay, we got to put on the sunscreen cuz we got to make sure Molina is nice and covered. I’m already thinking about my coffee I’m going to get. Also, we’re pretty much here a whole day early, which is awesome. So, we don’t have anything on the schedule for today. So, I think I want to take Olly to Harajuku, like Takashidita Street, and see all the touristy things over there. Our hotel’s really close to like the Shabuya crossing. I can quite literally see it and Shabuya 109. So part of me is like, okay, we can also I can take him over there. Oh, also it is humid. It is hot. It is hot. It is sauna hot. There’s like lowkey a heat wave here right now, which is so funny cuz the last time I was here it was like freezing. So I think this is the hottest weather I’ve ever been in in Tokyo. This has been a hot mess of a get ready with me, let me tell you. I used my entire concealer brush because I don’t have a beauty blender and Ollie was so gracious and let me steal some cream blush. Something else I forgot. So, the fact that it’s so humid and I’m probably just going to sweat this off in 2 minutes. It’s kind of sad. But you know what? I’m committed. Okay, cuz we got to make this last. Literally. All right, we are ready. I am so excited cuz it was supposed to rain and the sun is coming out. I don’t think it is anymore. However, that means the humidity is still going to be really bad. I’m going to sweat. It’s okay. I have my fan. I have two fans, which says a lot. I feel like even at Coachella, I have three. I have three cuz you have one. We have three fans. Oh, I was saying I’m a fan. Oh, wait. I didn’t get the joke. And now that feels so lame. I’m so sorry. I’m a fan of you. Our real room won’t be ready until 300 p.m. they told us. And we’re hoping it’s not too miserable out and too hot to where we’ll be out then. So, we purposely reset up so that way um reset up. We purposely packed back up so that way um the What am I saying? They said they can move our luggage. Anyways, we packed up. Okay, let’s go. [Music] Ollie, baby, you’re in the pan. I know. This This doesn’t feel real. I’m scared. How do I feel? I need I need all of the things. Where Where do I start? I’m going to have no savings. All right. I have successfully with one small minor inconvenience brought us to the right um platform. There was one. There was one. There was one. We’re good. I need to get a real card, but we got tickets cuz Ollie wanted his junk journal to have a real ticket. So, that’s what we got. [Music] We’ve made it. Isn’t it so cute? I’m obsessed. No, like also it’s hot, but it’s doable. Definitely glad I have fans. I have fans. Luckily, I have fans. Hey. Oh my god. So cute. It feels good here, too. Wait. It’s so fun seeing like New York and the Dodgers. And that’s so crazy. It makes sense, but it’s crazy. I put my hair up because I’m trying to keep my curl in as long as it can stay. There’s so many things. No, there’s so But we can go in all of them. We can take our time. We can do it all. I’m going to have zero dollars of my savings. I definitely want my strawberry little things, which I get every time. So, sorry. Strawberry little things. No, the the strawberry fetish little um Oh my god. Ton Hulu. Strawberry fetish. Not from Japan. No. I swear I really want this trip for me to like do other things than the stuff I’ve already done. So, I really want to try new things this trip, but this is one non-negotiable that I will not not be doing. I will not not get the strawberry fetish. You guys, I’m dying. This tastes nothing like it does back home. Remember the $20 Japanese strawberry thing? I like the grape, too, but I just like strawberry better. Oh, careful. We’re not wasting her. No. Oh my god. Great wreck. So good. It’s one of those like touristy things, but you just have to do it. Okay, we’re in this vintage store and I saw this Supreme hat. I kind of I’m kind of thinking about it. Kind of thinking about it. I really like this, but it’s only day one and I figured if I love it, we can’t go crazy. Okay. And here’s the thing. If I forget about it by like tomorrow, then boom, it’s I don’t need it. You’re going to literally 4:00 a.m. be like, “Yeah, where’s if I have a dream I’m wearing it, then we’re going to come back and I’ll get it.” I do really like it. Update. We think it might be an additional 20% off. Which means maybe I should get it now. Update. She’s not 20% off. So, we’re going to leave her here. But maybe maybe it’ll come back for you. This is the store we are at. We’re over here. I’ve seen a lot of vloggers come here and they say it’s actually Look at the too. Sorry. Do I not have ADHD or what? You guys, wait. And then this guy literally is like, “Here, do you want coffee?” And I’m like, “That’s weird.” And then I look and it’s a Marc Jacobs store. And then it gets us in. Maybe it’s Marc Jacobs. Exactly. And then I go in and I see this bag and I’m like, “Wait, this is really cute cuz it has a bow on it.” But then I saw the black one. I was like, “Oh, I think I might actually get that.” But then I said, “It’s day one.” Day one. And we’re going to And if I have a dream about it, we’re coming back. You will. I think I might. Wait for it. It’s right there. All right. I need to shower again. I wish you guys could hear what we say off camera. One day. I just smell. All right. Here is outfit number two of the day. I feel like all loafers you should size up, but these for sure, like I got a 7 and 1/2. I’ve worn them around the house. I’ve taken them to a like shoe place to be stretched and they’re still too small. So, learn from my mistakes if you’re an OG YouTuber or like OG OG beauty life hacker. I need to do the freeze. It’s so funny cuz there’s so many places we could eat, but for our first real meal, being here is iconic. First things first, the boring stuff. I would love to get the deodorant wipes, which are over not here. Maybe here. I do need a beauty sponge, but I do not see I think I found it. Yes. Oh my god. These are the cool. We want the cool. Okay. These are like the deodorant white things. Even the ice cream looks so good. And I’m not even an ice cream girl. ladies and gentlemen. Family Mart and our lunch. I feel like I have I feel like I’m like at lunch at school with my little bag like so good. The way we’re going to go here every day. It’s just also it’s just nice and it’s cheap and it’s good. We’ll get real dinner tonight. We have egg salad sandwich, spicy fried chicken, the spice of egg. Like, smell that. Oh my god, it smells like KFC on crack. No, like I And it’s crazy. Then I got this like strawberry croissant thing. Why do people live in the US at this point? No. Like this is so That looks yummy. Well, they said that like obviously this is Family Family Mart, not 7-Eleven, but they said they want America to have Japanese 7-Elevens, but I’m like I don’t think people I don’t know. I I could see it not working the same. Oh, and then I also got the deodorant wipes. These are great. These are great. Okay, that’s all. Rim and I are crazy and we just like you just you quite literally just put it on there. Wait, maybe have a bite first by itself. It’s like the best fried chicken I’ve ever had in my life. Oh my god. Also, the egg salad is so good. I know. I know. Oh my god. With the chicken. good. M. This is like literally show and tell. I definitely have had this before. Mhm. There’s the strawberry here is just superior. I fully agree. That ton Hulu you got me. I mean that’s still it cured me. Yeah. H when she gives she gives. Oh my god. Yes. I just want a little piece. It make it makes a cotton pad. You have to get one. It’s really fun and it honestly is very refreshing. Like I can’t It’s just crazy that it’s an essence cotton maker. It’s crazy. Not a Chico. Like good news. We found makeup which which means yes nails. We finally found We found the sponge. Oh, wait. But now we have options. So, look how cute this is. Wait, that’s so cute. I’ll get that, too. Honestly, I feel like you can’t go wrong with real technique. So, I think I’m going to Or is this one better? I don’t know, guys. I don’t know. Update. It is way way later. We might do room service if anything. Oh, we have room service Friday. Yeah, that great idea. Forgot about that. We’ve done some shopping. I cannot believe I didn’t even have a nap until you drop. I didn’t have a nap or an energy drink today and that says a lot. I did stutter a lot of my I did stutter half the time vlogging and I had to redo it, but that’s okay. We also went to Loft and um I also did stop at Coochie. Walk up a hill right now. No, I I don’t want to run, but like I could have I had to, you know. There I There I go again without stuttering. Okay, we have room service credit and because we’re only at this hotel for a few days, I feel like we should use it. I’m also not that hungry, but I do feel like by the time I order shower, then I’m going to be like, I could use a little snack. I could use a little snack. Oh, there’s also the places under y’all. Thank God for these bad boys. We’re in sports mode, too. Did you have a good first day? I feel like we did a lot. It feels like we’ve been here for 2 days at least. We’ve yet to go into Omega or what? Donkey. I don’t know how to say it. It says it right there. Subaru donkey in that sign right there. Oh, we’re going to spend a whole day in there. I was trying to watch a love violin and then it literally was like you have to physically be in the US. So, I’m kind of stressing. Going to try to figure that out. Maybe I can find it on my phone or something. I have no idea. Or get one of those things that bypasses it. Can I say that publicly? Yeah, there’s those things. They’re like they’re legal. Okay, I am going to end the vlog here. We’ve had a crazy day. Yeah, I’m going to end it here. It was a very eventful first day, but I hope you guys are excited for some Tokyo vlogs because we are back in Japan and I’m so excited.
