Indonesia. Our first impressions. Come along with us as we explore this beautiful country together.Ā

not planned. And let’s just let’s go. Let’s go.Ā Ā Okay. Salamat pagi. Uh we go here. How much? No.Ā
Too far. H I think it’s too far. I think it’s too far for him. So, no problem. We’ll order a Gojack,Ā
which is like their version of Uber here. Okay, so we just got a driver. The price was $1.50 orĀ
20,000 Indonesian rupia, Salomad Pagi or Getday. And good morning, guys, from beautiful country ofĀ
Indonesia. That’s right. This is our first day in Indonesia. Our first impressions. Come along withĀ
us as we explore this beautiful country together. The first stop is the old town. So, I’mĀ
thinking why don’t we get in this cooktopĀ Ā here? This is not planned. And let’s justĀ
let’s go. Let’s go. Okay. Salomad Puggy. Uh, we go here. How much? No. Too far. I thinkĀ
it’s too far. I think it’s too far for him. So, no problem. We’ll order a Gojack, which isĀ
like their version of Uber here. Okay. So,Ā Ā we just got a driver. The price wasĀ
$1.50 50 or 20,000 Indonesian rupia, which is a really good price. A $1.50 for aĀ
15minute drive. That’s really affordable. Guys, this is the hotel that we’re staying in, by theĀ
way. It’s called Hotel Melania or something. Hotel Melennia or something. But yeah, let’s wait forĀ
our go jacket. So guys, this car here is ours. Hello. Hello. Good afternoon. Good afternoon. HowĀ
are you? I am fine. Yeah, I am today. I’m fine. That’s what’s your name? My name is Raditanto.Ā
Nice. Uh, open the door and close. Hey. Okay. [Music] Five people on one motorbike. Only inĀ
Indonesia will you see that. [Music] Okay, so we’re now in a little bit of a traffic jam.Ā
Always traffic. Yes. Many cars in Jakarta. Guys, I just saw this guy’s hair here that I just realizedĀ
he’s wearing a wig. So, right now we’re going through uh Chinatown. There’s always a ChinatownĀ
in pretty much every big city, right, that we’ve been to. Even in Nepal, there’s Chinatown.Ā
Is there? Yeah. Oh, I’ve never been. Oh, we should go there. Um, but yeah, this ChinatownĀ
is pretty cool. So many different markets. Uh,Ā Ā you have Chinese people, you have IndonesianĀ
people, and lots of street food, I’m noticing. [Music] This is for you. Okay. This is tip. Okay.Ā
Okay. Thank you, mister. No problem. No problem. Okay. Have a nice day. Yeah. Have a nice day, too.Ā
Buy some uh ice cream. Okay. Yeah. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. See you. Have a nice day. Have a nice day.Ā

Okay, so we just arrived to the square. This is so cool. Everyone is riding their bikes. Yeah, right.Ā
Everyone’s like has colorful bikes. Hello. What’s your name? My name is Jack. What’s your name? MyĀ
name is Fadri. Wow, nice name. What’s your name? Rafa. Rafael. Nice to meet you. Wow, nice bike.Ā
Well, nice to meet you. Bye-bye. Bye. People here are so friendly. There’s a real life BarbieĀ
there. Wa, there is a real life Barbie. Let’s go take a picture. Yeah. So, yeah. As you can see,Ā
guys, this is the square. And you might think,Ā Ā “Wow, these buildings look so European andĀ
so Dutch.” Well, that’s because of the Dutch colonization. So, in the early 1900s to 1945,Ā
the Dutch colonized majority of Indonesia. Then the Japanese came in for about 3 to 5 years. ThenĀ
after that, Indonesia gained its independence. So, Indonesia has had a lot of history. HinduismĀ
and Buddhism was uh introduced about I believe like thousands of years ago. And then in the 13thĀ
century, uh, Islam was introduced to the area. But that’s why Hinduism still exists in Bali because,Ā
uh, Islam didn’t really go to Bali that much. So, super interesting. Hello. Hello. How are you?Ā
What? Fine. Where are you from? Australia. Our neighbor. Yes. You Sydney. Not Indonesia. She’sĀ
from Nepal. Kathmandu. Namaste. Nepal. Talking Nepal. A little bit same like Tibet. Yeah. Yeah.Ā
Like Tibet. Yeah. I was in Lassa. Uhhuh. 2018. Wow. Then I also went to the western part ofĀ
Australia. Wow. Really? Free mental. Okay. We went to seminar in the maritime museum. Wow.Ā
Nice. So that I just check it all the community where we give them allow. Yes. To have theĀ
older activity in our old town. Okay. We have connected the history with the old city.Ā
Wow. Very good. See that? Yeah. Ali Fanfleen. Uhhuh. She is the secretaries from the one of theĀ
Dutch governor general. Wow. There you go. Okay, cool. Yeah. Let’s take a photo. She’s going toĀ
give you some flowers. Thank you. Okay. Ready? 1 2 3. Okay. Thank you so much. Thank you. ThankĀ
you. Thank you. Have a nice day. Well, nice to meet you. What’s your name? Daniel. Daniel. NiceĀ
to meet you. I’m Jack and this is Sophia. Have a nice day. You, too. Have a good day. Bye-bye.Ā
Bye-bye. Wow. Nice, man. People here are so friendly. So like willing to talk and say hello.Ā
One thing I’m noticing as well is uh they’re not shy. No. No. And their English is quite goodĀ
here, which is which is really amazing. [Music] So, even though it’s a Monday, it’s still superĀ
busy, right? I love it. Yeah. Yeah. Like all the locals here are just chilling, having aĀ
picnic. It’s not even a weekend. It’s likeĀ Ā Imagine on Saturday, Sunday. Oh my gosh, it’dĀ
be so busy. I’m glad that we came on a Monday. I thought that today would be quiet. No, all theĀ
kids are out. It must be school holidays. I wasĀ Ā thinking the same. I think that’s what it is.Ā
It has to be school holidays. There’s so many little kids everywhere. So, you can see here allĀ
the old uh European buildings. It’s just really, really nice. And they have all different streetĀ
art and things here. This is super, super cool. And yeah, as you can see, guys, they have heaps ofĀ
different street food here. Maybe we should findĀ Ā some ice cream, right? Yeah, I could reallyĀ
go for some ice cream. It’s super hot. Okay, so now let’s cross the road here. They have allĀ
of the different types of street food. Um, but we are looking for something cold. I’ve noticed aĀ
lot of the street food here, guys, is fried. LikeĀ Ā different types of fried food, right? M. Here’sĀ
some cold drinks. But I’m sort of more looking for like something fresh. I was thinking more ofĀ
a like coconut, right? Yeah. Yeah. You have to pay for taking picture. How much? And video. HowĀ
much to pay? 20. You have change? Uh, yeah. Yeah. Okay. I can hold it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. This isĀ
a crocodile, right? Yeah. Oh my gosh. Okay. Wow, guys. I’ve never held a crocodile in my life.Ā
Oh my gosh. That is insane. A tamed crocodile, guys. That is uh that’s crazy. Okay. UhĀ
thank you. You want to touch it? A snake, too. A snake? Yes. Uh no, it’s it’s okay. I IĀ
I don’t do snakes. Oh my gosh. Wow. You’ve had it since it was baby. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. You justĀ
have one or you have many? Two. Two. Okay. You You found it or buy? From Yang. Wow. Okay. Oh my gosh.Ā
Thank you. Okay. We’ll give you some money. That’s super cool. So 20 to hold a crocodile, which isĀ
like $1. This snake is uh strangling this lady here. He He told me that you have changed. No,Ā
because you are the first. This is I said to him, you have changed. She said, “Yes, I’m going toĀ
buy water.” I’m going to Yeah. Okay. We’ll buyĀ Ā some water and then give you change. That’s theĀ
best way to get a sale, guys. Say, “Yeah, I have change.” And then don’t have change. Hello. Hello.Ā
Uh, one water. Yes. One. Yeah. They’re trying to find change. So, guys, uh, 100,000. Wow. Nice.Ā
Uh 100,000 is like $10 something. Wow. Very nice singing. [Music] Change. Okay. Thank you. 50,000.Ā
That seems expensive. Thank you. Okay. Thank you, Masi. Thank you. Where you from? Nepal. Hello.Ā
Uh sorry to in the truck. No problem. Can I take picture with you? Sure. Yes. Yes. Sure.Ā
Sure. Okay, let’s take a photo. Where are youĀ Ā guys from? Uh, Australia and Nepal. Australia.Ā
Yeah. Where your neighbor? Thank you. Nice. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you. What’s your name?Ā
Uh, Imam. Imm. Yeah. What’s your name? My name’sĀ Ā Jack. Jack. Yeah. Okay. Now, we have to payĀ
the crocodile man. We We didn’t run away. Ah, I know. I know. I Yeah. Okay. There you go. ThankĀ
you. Thank you. Oh my gosh. Crazy snake. What type of snake is this? A python. Python? Yes. OhĀ
my gosh. And this kind of snakes have no vet. It still has uh teeth. No, it’s not for he hasĀ
teeth. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. You just feed him on the street. Oh my gosh. Just take the bunny.Ā
How many times you feed? Once a week. Once a week. Yeah. Okay. Wow. Well, thank you very much.Ā
You’re welcome. Okay. Have a nice day. Bye-bye. She just showed me a video of a very cuteĀ
bunny and that snake just attacking the bunny and eating it. I love bunnies. I’m sorry you hadĀ
to say that. You know this one. Yeah. Okay. Ken, how much? 70,000. You can do uh 50. Okay. Okay.Ā
Okay. I think we overpaid a little bit, but that’s okay. Just for the experience. Okay. ThankĀ
you. Okay. Let’s go. Let’s go. [Music] Come on. Finally. Finally. After like 3 minutes of tryingĀ
to get it going, we got it going. Jakarta, here we come to explore. Okay. And now we’re off.Ā
I tell you what, guys. It is so hot in the tuk tuk here. I don’t know what they call these vehiclesĀ
in Indonesia. Let us know in the comments. Like, we know Rick Shaw, tuk tuk, tricycle. I’m notĀ
sure. Let us know in the comments. Auto. So, yeah. This driver is crazy guys. Okay guys, so we are just arriving now from here.Ā
Yeah. Okay. Have fun. Okay. Bye-bye. Bye. That was fun. Scary, but I wouldn’t want to do that again.Ā
We just got married. Yeah. Yeah. Meaning Sophia doesn’t want us to get injured. So, here we haveĀ
124 years old church. Yeah. So, this was built by the Dutch in 1901, which is over 124 years old.Ā
Okay. So, with the coming in of the new pope, uh I think the church will be quite busy today.Ā
And you can see here, this is the old pope. GodĀ Ā bless. Yeah. Let’s go inside. So, I don’t thinkĀ
the public can go past these gates. I think there’s a church service going on and you haveĀ
to go through security and sign in. But yeah,Ā Ā we can definitely see it from the back here,Ā
which is super, really, really beautiful. [Music] Okay, so we just came out of the church.Ā
What did you think of that experience? It’s just beautiful and like we got to meditate thereĀ
and like my soul found rest. It’s really nice. Yeah. So, it’s really peaceful, right?Ā
Yeah. And one thing that surprises me. So,Ā Ā this is the main church of the capital of theĀ
country really. And right across is one of the main mosques which is crazy. So, it just showsĀ
how Indonesia has religion in harmony, right? So, you have the church and directly across from thatĀ
you have the mosque. right here in Indonesia,Ā Ā they have such openness and I think that’sĀ
really beautiful because why cause conflict over religion, you know? It’s uh Exactly. And loveĀ
is the greatest thing. Amen. Wow. And this mosque is actually huge. I didn’t even see this when weĀ
arrived. So now we’re just waiting to cross theĀ Ā road. There’s so much traffic here. So guys, alsoĀ
another fun fact uh about Indonesia is it’s the largest Muslim majority nation, Muslim majorityĀ
country in the world. Uh which is absolutely very surprising. Amazing. Yeah, I thought it wasĀ
Bangladesh. Yeah, with over 17,000 islands. Um, yeah, it’s the largest Muslim majority nation.Ā
So, uh, here we have the beautiful mosque and it’s so big and this looks quite new to be honest.Ā
It looks like it was actually built in the last 10 years. It’s really beautiful and clean. I thinkĀ
we’ll just stay outside and marvel it from there because we’re not Muslim ourselves, so I’m not tooĀ
sure. But yeah, if you guys know if we can go in,Ā Ā let us know in the comments. But I’m not sureĀ
because I haven’t seen any tourists go inside yet. So, another thing, guys, about uh IslamicĀ
places of worship is they actually separate theĀ Ā men and women uh when they pray. So, on this sideĀ
is the men’s entrance and then on this side is the woman’s uh entrance. So, yeah, I don’t thinkĀ
we’ll go inside today. I think it’ll be a bitĀ Ā tricky for us to film and also we don’t reallyĀ
know what we’re doing and how to be respectful when walking into a mosque. We’re both ChristiansĀ
and Sophia used to be Hindu, so she understandsĀ Ā Buddhism and Hinduism temple as well. So, it’sĀ
easy for us to go in. But yeah, with a mosque, we’re not really sure what to do. So, I don’tĀ
think we’ll go in today, but I’ll just put up someĀ Ā photos now of what it looks like on the inside.Ā
So far, Sophia, what’s your first impressions of the country? We’ve only It’s our first day, butĀ
yeah, I think it’s like a mix between Thailand, Bangladesh, and Singapore. It’s like it’s likeĀ
every country I mean like um in one, right? It has like all these different vibes. For me, it’sĀ
quite similar to the Philippines and Thailand.Ā Ā Hi. Hi. Hello. Just uh just speaking of that, howĀ
friendly everyone is. So surprisingly friendly. Like I did not expect everyone to be so welcoming.Ā
The Indonesian people are absolutely beautiful. Many countries have 7-Eleven. We have IndommartĀ
here. Yeah. So let’s go and see Indomite for the first time. Hi Meow. Indomite cat. Wow. pregnantĀ
Indommart cat. Okay, so they have all the chips. They have different ice cream. Oh my gosh. IĀ
tell you what, if you want to cool down, comeĀ Ā to Indomat because it’s super easy to cool down.Ā
Guys, I think we’re going to get some bananas. Hello. Uh these bananas, please. So 17,000. SoĀ
that’s like $1 for all for four bananas, which is a pretty good price. Now we have heaps of change,Ā
which is good, guys. Just next to Indomart, they have I thought was another Indomart, butĀ
it’s a copy. It’s called Alpha Mart. And you see they have the exact same colors. Red, blue, andĀ
yellow. Red, blue, yellow. So yeah, let us knowĀ Ā in the comments what’s better, Indomart or AlphaĀ
Mart. Guys, we just came inside this place here and they have all local shirts for men and women.Ā
You can see how colorful they are. Sophia might be getting hit out by a local. Wow, that’s beautiful.Ā
Show us one. Wow, that’s quite nice. This is made in Indonesia. Okay, Indonesia. Yeah. No Chinese.Ā
Uh, no. No. Okay. Yellow. That’s cute. They don’t have a changing room, so you got to try it fromĀ
over the top. That’s really pretty, right? Yeah, I think I’ll get this one. Yeah, that’s beautiful.Ā
Okay. Wow, this one looks good as well. I love it. That’s a beautiful one. We might get both.Ā
And we’re going to try this long one, too. So,Ā Ā for the long one, Sophia, they don’t have theyĀ
don’t have the size. So, guys, they also have some really nice male shirts here, too. I think thisĀ
one might be pretty good for me, but I do have lots of shirts in my bag. I should have packed aĀ
lot less. That one looks good, too. Yeah, I like that. I My favorite is the purple. Wow, that’sĀ
that’s pretty good. Who’s that handsome? Yeah, this is the couple one. Wow. So, that’s yours.Ā
And then this would be what mine looks like. So, you can see, guys, it’s like twins. Look at this,Ā
guys. Look how big this note is. Wow. Bigger than my finger. Yeah. 700,000. Okay. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7Ā
Okay, thank you. Okay, okay, byebye. Bye. Okay, now we’re finally going to look like locals withĀ
our local dress. So, make sure you guys subscribe, like the video, turn on notifications so for theĀ
next video, you can see us in our local dress. Wow. Hello. What one do you like? This one.Ā
Pink one. Yeah. Yeah, that’s beautiful. Wow, that’s lovely. Very, very good. Oh, it needsĀ
to be stitched. Very nice shop. Very beautiful. Wow. Let’s see. So, this is like a very VIPĀ
shop, guys. So, they have all different suits and dresses. Probably for a wedding, right?Ā
I think so. Yeah. I want to ask the price of this one. How much is this? It’s going to costĀ
around 5 to 6 million rupees. 5 to6 million. How much is that in dollars? Do you know? $375. It’sĀ
like 40,000 Noli. It’s beautiful, right? This is stunning. Yeah. Well, thank you so much. ThankĀ
you. So, I think this is a very VIP area with uh lots of expensive places for clothes and for,Ā
you know, suit designs and everything. So guys, we just found a local place where we can getĀ
nasi goring. We can get ayam, which is chicken, grilled chicken. Yeah, this is good. I think let’sĀ
go here. This will be our first experience trying Indonesian. Uh we don’t no fish. No, no, no, no.Ā
This is the chili you fish oil. Fish oil. No, no fish oil. Oh, okay. Just green. Yes. And no.Ā
And uh also uh what is something else that is good? Do you like any specific like uh this is aĀ
shrimp? Yeah. Shrimp is it? This is shrimp. It’s something like this. This is a salted egg shrimpĀ
and this is the grilled um calamari. And what soup is this? This is the oxtail soup. Oxtail. Okay.Ā
You have normal uh meat soup. Uh we have like this. This is from the is Java soup which is onlyĀ
uh beef. Okay. You have Okay. And one mutton soup. This is uh So this one has only rice on it. So theĀ
mutton soup, no need rice, right? Uh no need. No need rice. Okay. Wow. I’m so glad we spoke to herĀ
because we guys, we didn’t we don’t know what to order, right? So now that we know we can rememberĀ
these dishes and if we like these dishes, we’ll keep ordering them. So that’s exciting. Okay,Ā
guys. So our orange just came out and look at that. It’s huge. It’s about as big as my head. M.Ā
Wow, that is fresh. Thank you. Wow. Thank you. Oh, wow. Okay, so let’s try this. I think the localsĀ
actually use their hands. Is it? Yeah. Okay guys, so we just went and washed our hands. Now I wantĀ
to try both of us try one of these chips. Now this is locally only found in Indonesia these chips andĀ
they’re made from nuts. So cheers guys. M tastes like peanut. Yeah. It’s like yummy eating eatingĀ
peanuts but in chips. And this chicken smells so good. Nice grilled chicken. Okay, so let’sĀ
taste this. Okay. Little bit of chili as well. Uh rice and chicken. [Music] Did you have it withĀ
the chili? Mhm. Love it, guys. That is good. Oh my gosh. And you can see here this chickenĀ
so big, lovely grilled. And it’s so juicy, too. It’s not dry. We have the uh nuts here andĀ
also the tofu. So, let’s try that. M. Oh, yeah. And last but not least, the soup. Oh yeah. It’sĀ
like bit salty. Really fresh. Really good. I rate this for Indonesian dishes. I’d say a solid 9 outĀ
of 10. It’s pretty good. Sophia, what do you rate this for Indonesian dish? Eight. Eight. Yeah, it’sĀ
pretty good, guys. Okay, guys. And as you can see, we cleared our plates. That was really good. AndĀ
we were super hungry from walking around in the heat. Okay. So, now what we’re going to do is goĀ
to CBD Central Business District. Yeah. Which is like the new part of town. So, we just went onĀ
a little side quest. We didn’t vlog. We’ve just bought this beautiful material. So stunning. It’sĀ
beautiful. And uh we’re going to wear this at a wedding that’s coming up. Uh well, Sophie’s goingĀ
to wear it, but yeah, we just bought this. It’s aĀ Ā little bit on the expensive side, but it’sĀ
beautiful. And we can’t find anything like this in Nepole, right? Yeah. I think we can’t.Ā
Yeah. Okay. Okay, so we just bought somethingĀ Ā else as well. Ta. We bought this fabric which isĀ
beautiful. So, this will be for Sophie’s second wedding dress. Uh, no, well, wedding partyĀ
dress. We’re already married, by the way. And if you haven’t seen that video linked up here,Ā
shameless plug. Okay, now let’s go to the CBD. Okay, so we are now at the CBD or the centralĀ
business district. This area is so beautiful. It’s absolutely amazing. So you can tell that thisĀ
is probably one of the nicest parts in the city ifĀ Ā not in the country as terms of infrastructure,Ā
pavement, roads. The buildings are beautiful. So this is where all the really five-star luxuryĀ
hotels are. all the big businesses, all theĀ Ā shopping malls like Gucci and all big malls. ButĀ
we’re going to go in here now. We actually need to buy something for this camera. So, we’ll quicklyĀ
buy that and then sort of explore around here. ForĀ Ā some reason, I thought we were at the airportĀ
cuz you have to do your bag checking. Yeah, right. It’s pretty nice. But jeez, look at thisĀ
place. It is stunning. Okay, let’s find what we need for our camera. Okay, this is DJI. This isĀ
where we need to get our camera equipment. So, hopefully they have it. and they didn’t haveĀ
it. But I think another place might have it, he said. So, let’s go see. Okay. And this placeĀ
didn’t have it either. I think we can only find it in China. I think so. So, we go to China afterĀ
this trip and I think we can get it there cuz they usually have so many aftermarket or like OEMĀ
products for cameras. Like our dog in Australia, Teddy. Yeah, we have a dog in Australia. HisĀ
name’s Teddy. What’s my family’s dog? But, uh, he looks like this. So, did we find what IĀ
wanted? No. No. None of the stores have it. So, no worries. Still a amazing amazing mall. Yeah.Ā
It’s absolutely beautiful. Like, just check this out, guys. Look at this. Isn’t that stunning?Ā
Beautiful. Don’t mind the flickering. That’s not in real life. That’s just because of theĀ
camera. But, as you can see, it is amazing. Such a brand new mall. If anyone knows when thisĀ
mall was built, let us know in the comments. Salomad Pagi or G and good morning guys from theĀ
first highspeed train station here in Indonesia. This train station was built by the Belton roadĀ
initiative from China and today we’ll be going from Jakarta to Bang on the highspeed train goingĀ
350 km per hour which is absolutely insane. And today’s train is called Whoosh. Whoosh. Yeah,Ā
that’s right. So, we’ll be whooshing through the country. This uh train used to take aroundĀ
3 hours on their slow version, but nowadays it’s only 1 hour. So, come along with us today asĀ
we experience Indonesia’s first highspeed rail. And yeah, see the countryside. It should be fun.Ā
Come along with us and let’s go. Let’s go. Okay, so I also just learned that uh this train doesn’tĀ
actually take an hour. It only takes half an hour. Wow. Which is even more crazy. So, from 3 hoursĀ
of travel time down to half an hour is just That’s insane. Insane. And it’s so good to see highspeedĀ
rail in Indonesia. Uh even Australia, my country, doesn’t even have any highspeed rail in theĀ
entire country yet, which is just crazy. So, first impressions of this terminal is pretty new,Ā
guys. And it definitely has a lot of differentĀ Ā things. You have shops here. Uh you have like aĀ
subway, different types of eeries. You even have a Gojack lounge as well if you want to orderĀ
a Gojack taxi. Here you can get your tickets from the ticket machines. It’s pretty nice. AndĀ
then also over here you have a prayer room. You have your departure lounge. One thing I forgot toĀ
tell you guys is we are going I almost said flying then we are traveling I should say in uh in firstĀ
class which should be epic. So, our ticket was, I believe, around $35, uh, which is pretty goodĀ
for a first class experience. And as you can see here as well, the, uh, the entrance to the LRT,Ā
the light rail is from here. So, you can even get a taxi here or use the public transport from theĀ
city center. Enough talking. Let’s get on this train. Okay, so first things first, we need to goĀ
through security, which is quite good. They’ve gotĀ Ā an airport style security, which is quite nice.Ā
You know, you know that things are going to be safe once you get inside. But even upstairs now,Ā
there is even so much more food places to eat at, which is great. All of these, I think, areĀ
Texas chicken. I think that might be American,Ā Ā but I think this one is Indonesian. Let meĀ
know in the comments. Whoosh. Whoosh. So, they even have whoosh official merch, which isĀ
so cool. Hello. Wow. So, guys, you can tell the country is really proud of this uh this project.Ā
This is how I roll. Whoosh. I just love the name. It’s so fun. Wow. All little even kids whooshĀ
t-shirts. So good. You want to get a whoosh hat? Wow. Pink. Pink whoosh. Whoosh. So afterĀ
coming through security, you can see that the layout here and the whole building is so nice.Ā
And not just the train and the rail was built byĀ Ā the Belton Road Initiative by China, but also theĀ
entire station, which you can tell because it’s just beautiful. And to be honest, anything thatĀ
China builds, it’s going to be big and beautiful.Ā Ā The 2Bs. And just here, we can actually seeĀ
the train itself. Uh, which is absolutely a, uh, a mega fast bullet train. The modelĀ
we’re going on today is the Fujing. And, uh, this is it right here, just in a smallerĀ
version. So, we’ll be in first class. So,Ā Ā I say this will be where we’re sitting here. RightĀ
here. Oh, that’s where we’re sitting. Y. Okay. So yeah, you can see here that they have a lot moreĀ
room compared to the uh ones back here. So yeah, should be fun. I love bullet train.Ā
I’m so excited, right? Woohoo. [Music] Okay, so uh we’re because we’re in first class,Ā
we’re going to the VIP room. So we’ve got our QR code here. Let’s scan this in. Hello. Hello. Oh,Ā
I scan this. Okay, scan. Okay, thank you. Hey, you’re our time. Okay, sure. Oh, you’re firstĀ
class. Oh, first class. Okay, I don’t even need a scan, guys. I just go straight in. So, hereĀ
we are. The VIP room. Hello. Great. Thank you. Wow. This is the uh first class lounge, guys.Ā
Pretty pretty cool. Nice big lounge. Hello. So, they’ve got some uh some water here and tea andĀ
coffee and a few different snacks as well. So yeah, this will be a good spot to relax. We’ve gotĀ
about 25 minutes now before we board. So spacious. Yeah. Right. It’s huge. It’s beautiful. [Music]Ā
Okay. So they just called us for the train. Are you ready? I’m so ready. Let’s do this. Okay.Ā
So this is our train and as you can see it is long. Really long and brand new. Everyone keepsĀ
on like speaking in Indonesian with me. Yeah, everyone thinks you’re Indonesian. Even when theyĀ
came to tell us the train was ready, they’re likeĀ Ā talking to Sophia in Indonesian, she’s like, “IĀ
don’t understand. I’m not Indonesian.” It’s so funny, right? Okay. Hopefully, they’ll let us takeĀ
a photo at the front of the train. As you can see, that is a cool train right there.Ā
Wow, look at that. Let’s go. Let’s go. Okay, so Sophia and I will be here and our friendĀ
Matt is here. I’m so excited. So, we’re in 1 A and C. These seats look absolutely amazing. So big,Ā
right? Yeah. Oh my gosh. Wow. This is so cool. You want the window seat? You have it? Really? A ThankĀ
you. That’s nice. So, you can see here they’ve got a little advertisement. This whole compartmentĀ
is uh is just to ourselves from here to here. So, it’s about 1 2 3 4 5 big steps. So, that’s likeĀ
maybe 7 m. It’s like a private jet but on a train. Okay, guys. So, we’ve just sat down. Um, and we’veĀ
got a few more minutes before we leave. I’m pretty sure it will leave exactly on the minute likeĀ
most Chinese trains do, but this is Indonesia,Ā Ā so it may take a little bit longer, but noĀ
worries. But, as far as the room goes, we have a lot of room. So, we’ve got the button here to pushĀ
your seat back. Whoa. Where’d you go? Here. And we also have this. Oh, yeah. Nice footrest. Yeah.Ā
And we’ve got a little pocket here for all your necessities. And if you fold it over, you can putĀ
it put your feet on here, which is cool, too. So, no matter what way, that’s pretty good. And theĀ
comfiness is Yeah. a solid tent. That’s really comfy. And uh got a nice big area here to put someĀ
drinks or just rest and look out the window. The window’s nice and clean as well, so we can getĀ
some good train window views for you guys. AndĀ Ā we’ve also got a hook here as well, which you canĀ
put your bags or anything. Yeah, there we go. So, just like that. So, yeah, not too bad. I have toĀ
say for $34, this is a pretty good experience with the first class lounge as well. I think we’reĀ
going to have a great trip. One other thing as well is they have a light switch which they canĀ
turn the lights on and off. And here they have aĀ Ā nice window shade if you want to get some rest.Ā
Oh, so a power socket which is really good. And what here? Oh yeah, and a power socket down hereĀ
as well which you can charge all your devices too. Really good. And we’ve got these little screensĀ
here as well which tell our seat number. And hereĀ Ā it will tell us the speed of the train. CurrentlyĀ
it’s 0 km an hour because we’re not moving. So guys, one cool thing here I noticed is justĀ
under this armrest, they also have a table, which is super handy. So if you want to eat someĀ
food or do some work, you can definitely do that, which is great. Hey guys, so we actuallyĀ
left 2 minutes early, which is even more punctual than the Chinese trains becauseĀ
we actually left early. It’s crazy. [Music] Thank you. Wow. Okay, so we’ve got our snackĀ
box here or our snack bag, I should say. Living smarter. Moving faster, living smarter. Okay,Ā
let’s see what we got. Water. What’s this? Bread. bread. Yeah. Nuts. Nuts. Mixed nuts. And aĀ
chocolate. Chocolate. And a wipe. Wipe. Yep. Nice. Okay. So, our current speed is 75 km an hour. So,Ā
yes, this train does get up to 350 km, but I’m only told just for a few seconds. uh most of theĀ
speed is around 300 and then when you’re passing through stops it sort of slows down as well. UmĀ
so yeah pretty exciting but uh still a train that goes 350 km an hour is always outstanding. SoĀ
if anyone’s wondering why they have these walls along the train the reason being is it stops theĀ
noise pollution going into the city. So any houses that live like just here, it’s uh quite good forĀ
them because you don’t see the train and then also it’s not as noisy. Uh so yeah, it’s quite good. OnĀ
this side though, they don’t have it. Uh probably because there’s not as many houses, but here youĀ
can see all the apartments here. So it’s quite good and important to have [Music] just here forĀ
half an hour. Okay guys, so we just went over 300 km an hour. 307 km. Let’s see the next update.Ā
313. I think we’re approaching 350. Let’s see, guys. So, we just went 344 km per hour, which isĀ
basically 350. I’m not going to look up there the whole entire trip. Oh, there we go. 347. SoĀ
yeah, basically 350 km an hour. Um, so wow, that is fast train travel right there. IndonesiaĀ
is definitely living in the future. 3:47. So good. [Music] Okay, guys. So, not long now until we reachĀ
Bangdong. And once we do, I’m so excited to explore because the city is sort of famous forĀ
its hot springs, its tea plantations, uh its local colonial vibes where the Dutch were here.Ā
Okay, guys. And just like that, we have arrived in half an hour. I hope to see you again in anotherĀ
journey. Thank you. Thank you. Okay, half an hour. So quick. Just like that. So, so, so quick. SoĀ
quick. Okay, let’s go. Where we are? We’re now in another city in Indonesia. Okay, guys. And forĀ
those of you who are wondering what the other two classes look like, business class and generalĀ
class, uh here’s what business class looksĀ Ā like. And also here is what general class looksĀ
like. Uh so, as you can see, it’s quite uh quite good. Business class is quite more spacious. AndĀ
general class, you know, it’s uh it’s still prettyĀ Ā good for what it is. I mean, the train journeyĀ
is only half an hour, so we could definitely go in general and we probably would have, but weĀ
wanted to show you guys our first class and uh what it’s like in Indonesia. So, that’s why we didĀ
that today. But normally, we probably would haveĀ Ā picked general class. Okay. So, now we’re goingĀ
to get on our free connection on another train into the city. Uh because the highspeed trainĀ
doesn’t go direct into the city. So, we’ll get on a quick train now and then arrive in Bangalore.Ā
So, right here, we just got to scan our QR code. So, the funny part about this train we’re going toĀ
get on now is it takes about half an hour to getĀ Ā into the city center cuz it’s a slower train. So,Ā
it’s quite ironic, isn’t it? One city to another, but not quite because yeah, it takes anotherĀ
half an hour to get into the actual city. It would have been good if they could haveĀ
built the line all the way into the city,Ā Ā but I’d guess that cost a lot and wouldĀ
create a lot more problems logistic wise. So, uh yeah, here’s still good. So the goodĀ
part is though for this next train,Ā Ā we actually have our own section which weĀ
didn’t know. So for the next half an hour, we’ve got another first and business classĀ
section. Okay, so here you go. You can seeĀ Ā that it’s uh blocked out with this red tape.Ā
Almost like feeling like we’re on a red carpet. Okay, so everyone’s just gettingĀ
on the train and then sorry,Ā Ā everyone’s just getting off theĀ
train and then we’re going to get on station to the final station. Put ourĀ
bags down now. Time to find a seat. All right, half an hour more and thenĀ
we’ll be exploring Bangalore. So,Ā Ā I have to say this train is pretty spacious.Ā
It has lo luggage racks above and also at the end of the train as well. You canĀ
store your luggage. Uh windows are niceĀ Ā and big which is good. So yeah, not too badĀ
other than it not going 350 km an hour. So pretty comfy. I love this popping color.Ā
It’s pretty nice. Okay, and here we go. [Music] So, I have no idea what’s happening,Ā
but that noise is super irritating. It’s like the train struggling to go. It’s like a generator.Ā
Yeah, the sound of the generator. Yeah. Right. So, this here, guys, was the highspeed line we wereĀ
just on. You can see it goes into the mountain there. So cool. So, what do you think so far aboutĀ
our trip on the two trains? My favorite was bullet train. That’s so cool. And I wanted to spendĀ
more time there, but it was so quick that I disl what do you think of the scenery soĀ
far? Like the houses, the nature. Yeah,Ā Ā the nature is beautiful. And what I like most isĀ
like in the other tree, the scenery is different. There we could see nature and beautiful treesĀ
and everything. And here we see houses andĀ Ā more of like personal life of people living here.Ā
Yeah, that’s right. So good. So good. All right, guys. We’re coming to a stop now. I must sayĀ
this train ride was like really loud. Yeah, you can hear the diesel engine. Yeah, it’sĀ
a uh diesel engine, so it’s pretty loud, guys. But that’s okay. Okay. So, I don’tĀ
know if you guys can see that, but it’s uh it’s raining right now. But the good part aboutĀ
being in business and first class is we’re at the front of the train. So, we’re right near the exitĀ
and we got to walk up this people mover hill. Or we could probably just stand still to be honest.Ā
Are you ready to go to our hotel? Yeah. Yeah. It’s been a big day. Well, a big 1 hour. I know. I’mĀ
tired. Yeah. Same. Most people think that travels, you know, it is fun, but it also is very tiring.Ā
Yeah, especially when you’re always on the move. Okay, so we are now in the taxi going to ourĀ
hotel and uh I’ll show you guys the hotel when we get there. It’s booked a pretty nice placeĀ
and uh I believe it was only around $30 or $40, so pretty cheap for what we’re going to get.Ā
So I’ll show you guys when we get there. Um,Ā Ā but yeah, first impressions of Bangdong.Ā
Quite nice. Uh, it’s raining at the moment, which is a bit annoying, but the streets lookĀ
pretty lively and yeah, should be good. So, we’ll probably go and go out and explore aĀ
bit later. Okay, so we’ve now arrived at Wow, it’s pink. It’s pink, right? Where are we? Moxy,Ā
our new hotel. In our new hotel with our lovely hotel entrance with beautiful vines. Let’s go inĀ
and check it out. I am so excited. I’m so excited, too. So different than we normally stay. Yeah.Ā
By the way, guys, we definitely did pay for this hotel, okay? It’s not a sponsored hotel. Okay, youĀ
go in first. Let’s go. Wow, I love the pink. Super nice. It’s like a boutique hotel, guys. HaveĀ
a pool table over there and even a telephone booth. Wow, look at that. Oh my gosh, this isĀ
sick. So cool. Hi. Wow. I love that artwork, too. All right, let’s get checked in. Okay, cheersĀ
to the welcome drink. Wow. Popcorn as well. Oh my gosh. Thank you so much. That’s really kind. ThankĀ
you. M. Wow. And you said free tea and coffee, right? Yes. Wow. Jeez, that’s amazing. Only blackĀ
coffee. Only black coffee. Espresso or American. Okay. Okay. Okay, so we just arrived. Sophie’sĀ
already taking selfies. I love it. It’s a nice hotel, right? So, it’s a nice boutique hotel,Ā
beautiful toilet, lovely doors, I have to say. And uh this room is absolutely amazing. Nice bigĀ
bed and pretty good view as well. Uh so yeah, not bad at all, right? This is by far oneĀ
of my favorite hotels. Yeah. Salomad Pagy or goodday and good morning guys from theĀ
beautiful country of Indonesia. So today we are in Yoga Carta visiting some of theĀ
city’s most amazing and beautiful temples, Hindu temples and Buddhism temples that datingĀ
back before the 13th century. So old temples. And today we’re actually with our guide Ryan.Ā
He’s going to be taking us all around the cityĀ Ā visiting some temples and maybe even a volcanoĀ
at the end. Yay. So, come along with us today. Let’s get in our drivers and tour guides carĀ
and let’s have a great day. Let’s go. Let’s go. [Music] Hello. Thank you. Thank you. Bye. Okay, so we justĀ
arrived to shopping. Shopping. Yes, there’s lots of shopping. So, we just arrived to Pranan Temple.Ā
This is the main and largest temple in the whole of Indonesia for Hinduism, which is crazy. We’reĀ
going to tell you guys some more history aboutĀ Ā that soon. But we just walked in and SophiaĀ
is so excited cuz there’s markets everywhere. [Music] Welcome to Pranan. Pramman. We’re still stillĀ
learning how to say it. Prabaman temple. Praan. [Music] Welcome to Pramman temple. IĀ
said before this is area is namely Pamaran temple area because this temple is presented inĀ
Pramman village. First the main temple that you show in the Google etc. This is namely Ro JunganĀ
temple. This namely by Hindus uh god Shiva temple, Rama temple and Vishnu temple. So the tour in hereĀ
you will explore this temple first. After that youĀ Ā are have two option. You can directly back to theĀ
exit gate or you want to explore the other temple is the Buddhist temple. Yeah. Namely Lun temple,Ā
BRA temple and temple. You saw from the street. Okay. Perfect. Okay. Thank you. So they alsoĀ
have brochures for each main country. English, German, French, Japanese, China, Russian, Korean.Ā
Wow. So cool. Should we get the I think English, right? So this is a scaled down version of theĀ
entire park. So the main temple is here and then there’s all different temples and then here isĀ
the Buddhist one. So we’re going to sort of makeĀ Ā our way around and sort of explore right now. IĀ
have no idea but we’ll work it out. The stone on stone like that. But the the every stone they haveĀ
the interlock system. So like Lego if you see that if you if you see this uh like this one you knowĀ
understand. Yeah. Like this like like the groove just here. Ah this one this one met will the theĀ
the line like this. Yeah. Okay. I understand. And why this is uh still not rebuilt? Because theyĀ
the the the the UNESCO and the official here, they difficult to find the correct expert forĀ
the uh in system. So in the new uh temple, you see the the the origin stone is from theĀ
lava stone. It’s really dark. But if you seeĀ Ā the temple, there’s many color like black and thenĀ
a little bit white. That’s the white one is the new one. New one. Yeah. Because they they triedĀ
to find the correct stone, but they didn’t findĀ Ā it. I see. Okay. So here we are at the temple.Ā
Stunning. So beautiful. This is so beautiful, right? Absolutely amazing. So let’s go in. Let’sĀ
explore. Okay, let’s go. Okay, so just here behind me is actually the interlocking stones that ourĀ
guide was talking about. He’s just went back to the car now and we have some time to explore byĀ
ourselves. Like incredible to think that this wasĀ Ā built in 8th century. Yeah, it’s just amazing.Ā
But our guide was saying like you can’t really rebuild this kind of thing again. Mhm. EspeciallyĀ
with the same uh stone. Yeah. Right. So like all of these stones here, they interlock. So likeĀ
you can see all the grooves. It’s sort of likeĀ Ā a Lego and that’s how they can stand so straightĀ
and tall. Uh which is really really cool. But so this is the real life Lego. Yeah. But you’reĀ
right. Like being built all the way in the 8th century when they had such limited technology.Ā
Yeah. That’s what it is. And now it’s like whatĀ Ā is it almost 1,200 years since then. That’sĀ
insane. Still standing. Yeah. Still standing to this day. They’ve done a lot of restorationĀ
work on it, which we’ll talk about in a minute,Ā Ā but super cool. Okay, so now it’s starting to getĀ
quite busy. We’ve got a few school kids behind us as well. This is quite a famous attractionĀ
here. So, we can just see here now we’re at the uh one of the main ones in the center. And thisĀ
they actually call the Shiva Temple. And then the other I think it’s Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. TheyĀ
say Shiva is the creator. No. So he was in the center. I think Vishnu is the creator. Is it? IĀ
thought Shiva was the main god. Isn’t it? Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva. This I don’t know. Well, I’m prettyĀ
sure our guide was saying that uh Shiva was in the middle and then Vishnu was here and then BrahmanĀ
was on the other side. So, one thing I want to show you guys is that you can see here the stonesĀ
that are are lighter color. These are actually new stones that have been carved out into theĀ
temple. And the ones that are really old like sort of this color, this is all um the originalĀ
and these stones are made from uh volcanic rock. Whereas the new stones, they couldn’t find anyĀ
new stones matching this same texture. So, uh, yeah, they decided to just get the closestĀ
they could to that. But you can see here,Ā Ā like this one, this corner one is a super oldĀ
piece. Super interesting how they did that. And you can see these old black ones here.Ā
And then you’ve got a new light color here,Ā Ā which is the new stone that has been usedĀ
to restore the building. [Music] Okay. So, unfortunately, we couldn’t film too muchĀ
inside cuz there was a no photo sign. So,Ā Ā we got to respect that. But, uh, yeah. WhatĀ
do you think of inside? Pretty cool. [Music] One, two, three. Yeah. So, for those of youĀ
who are wondering like why is Hindu temples here? I thought Indonesia was a MuslimĀ
country, an Islamic country. Well, it is, but uh Hinduism was actually introduced in theĀ
4th century via the maritime silk road. Indians came on ships into Indonesia and actually didĀ
a lot of trading and also brought with them a lot of Hindu priests and a lot of these thingsĀ
and this ideology of idol worship and Hinduism came into the area and that’s when they started toĀ
build these temples. Um later in the 13th century uh Islam was introduced into the country and itĀ
took over majority of the country except for aĀ Ā few different islands and few different areas. UhĀ
so yeah that’s sort of a bit of history about how it happens today. Y interesting. So interesting.Ā
So sort of from the South Asia subcontinent where you’re from Hinduism was introduced all the wayĀ
to here to Indonesia which is just crazy. Yeah. I tell you what, guys. I am sweating. We’re nowĀ
in the trees. It’s a lot cooler, right? But jeez, it is hot today. Um thankfully, there’s a bit ofĀ
a breeze, but I am sweating bullets. Uh so yeah, what we’ll do now, we’ll go to the Buddhism templeĀ
and then uh we’ll go to get in go and see our guide and then drive to our next destination.Ā
Okay. So, we’ve now decided to get a golf cart because walking in this heat is just too much.Ā
So, it’s 20,000 per person, which is like $1. So, not a bad price. Yeah. For this. Yeah. Wow.Ā
Pretty good. So, we didn’t even wait 5 minutes, like 2 seconds, and now we’re already going. Let’sĀ
go. So, we’ve got some Indonesians doing scouts, which is Oh, scouts. Super cool. So, they’reĀ
learning how to do all different things,Ā Ā camping and everything. Hi. Yeah. Whoever thoughtĀ
there’d be scouts in the temple grounds. That’s uh that’s pretty unique. Were you ever a partĀ
of scout? No, I wasn’t. Did you do it? No, I didn’t. You did scouts? That’s good. Nice.Ā
Yeah. I wish I did scouts actually. It would have been quite a good um skill to have. OneĀ
thing that I’m really loving about IndonesiaĀ Ā is how much they’re respecting this Hinduism areaĀ
and this culture uh this religion I should say. uh because you know in today’s world as you know aĀ
lot of countries are fighting because of religion uh and because of land but ultimately religionĀ
and a whole heap of different other things.Ā Ā So to see a country that’s very accepting likeĀ
the other day when we were uh at the cathedral, the Catholic cathedral and just across the roadĀ
was the um was the mosque. It just goes to see the harmony and and the Indonesian people think aboutĀ
different religions together which is awesome cuz yeah, so many places around the world now they’reĀ
fighting because of religion. It’s so good to seeĀ Ā that here from Indonesia. So good job Indonesia.Ā
Tada. We’re now at the Buddhism one. And the only way I can sort of tell immediately from it beingĀ
Buddhism is I was about to say this is the fat laughing Buddha, but it’s not. Okay. Well, yeah,Ā
I I don’t know how to tell the difference. Let’s let’s go and explore then. So, here guys, you canĀ
see these are all of the old pieces, the old lava stone that was used to create many temples here.Ā
And uh I think some of these have even been taken out and placed nicely in the restoration of this.Ā
Now, the restoration is still going on and we’ll see those workers today working inside to try andĀ
restore this to its once natural glory. Um, when they’re doing the restoration work, they try andĀ
do a exact copy piece by piece down to the, you know, down to the inches. But the strange thing isĀ
I still can’t see how this is a Buddhism temple. Yeah. If anyone knows how to tell the difference,Ā
please let us know in the comments. [Music] Okay. So, we just came out and I thinkĀ
a fresh coconut is due, right? Yes. What What coconut one do you like? What looksĀ
the best? Do you like this one? Hello. Uh, you want one to share? Yes. Let’s Yeah. Uh, can weĀ
get one, please? Yeah. One coconut, please. Okay. Yeah. Sit down. Thank you so much. Thank you. Wow.Ā
Ice. No ice. No ice. Thank you. Okay. You want to taste? Uhhuh. Wa. That’s cool. And we can evenĀ
eat the coconut meat cuz we’ve got a spoon. Yeah. I think it’s good. Is it nice?Ā
Yeah. It’s so good. It’s so hot. Yeah. That’s nice and sweet. M. Good. Okay, so after that really nice coconutĀ
for just $15,000, we’re uh going, which is about just about a dollar, maybe even under a dollar, uhĀ
we’re going to check out the markets. And Sophia’sĀ Ā been waiting for this the whole time. Let’s checkĀ
out these markets. Let’s go. Starting from [Music] Okay, let’s have a look. Hello. Hello. How muchĀ
How much is this? This 50,000 50 M. Okay. And this one? Uh, 100. 100. Okay. You have anything for uhĀ
20? Huh? 20. 20. No. 20. No 20. Okay. What’s your What’s your final price? Okay. Final price.Ā
Okay. 150,000. No. That’s a bit much, right? Okay. How much? It’s okay. Thank you. 100. Okay.Ā
Already? 100? No, that’s okay. Well, this is our first We’re just looking. So, I feel a bit bad,Ā
guys. But we’ve only That’s our That’s our first store. So, we should explore and try and findĀ
the best price. 70. Yeah, that looks pretty good. This one. This one. How much is this one? 70. 70.Ā
Last price. This 60. And this one, how much? Same. Same. Yeah. And this one? 85. 65. 85. 85. A 85.Ā
Thought you said 65. Okay. I like this. I like the white one the best. This is really nice. You canĀ
do 50. 50. 55. Yeah. Okay. Let’s do 55. 55. Yeah. Okay. So, we just ordered some lunch and we bothĀ
got a fresh juice. Cheers, darling. Cheers. Sophia got watermelon and I got orange. That’s prettyĀ
good. So, um I ordered a soup and Sophia ordered um a spaghetti bolognese. So, we’ll see whatĀ
that’s like when it comes out. It was pretty cheap. And uh this restaurant’s quite nice, too.Ā
Okay, so we were so hungry we forgot to film, but so far the food is pretty good. My spaghetti.Ā
Well, I’m eating Sophie’s spaghetti. is eating my soup and rice cuz she likes mine more. But uhĀ
yeah, pretty good so far. The portion sizes are a little bit small though, which is a bitĀ
annoying, but other than that, a pretty cheap andĀ Ā tasty meal. So, we are now at a cafe, the LuakĀ
Cafe. This is a luak. It’s like a raccoon. It eats coffee beans. Really keen to taste its food.Ā
I’m not. So guys, anyone who doesn’t know what’s behind us right now, it’s essentially a localĀ
animal like a raccoon that only eats coffee beans and then they collect the poo because it just eatsĀ
coffee beans and process it and then you drink the coffee. So we’re basically drinking raccoon pooĀ
coffee. Let’s go try. Oh, wait. It’s you. Yeah, I’m only going to try, not Sophia. So guys, thisĀ
is the animal here. It looks a lot like a raccoon. So this is this is what it eats. Yeah, they’reĀ
eating the cherries. Coffee cherries. Oh my gosh. So yeah, basically uh coffee lak is coffeeĀ
cherries that is eaten by this animal. We call them luak. Yes. And uh that’s why the name ofĀ
the coffee is coffee because they are digested by them. Also because of their uh sensitive nose,Ā
they can save the best coffee cherries. That’s why every beans that come out of them are the greatestĀ
ones. So yeah. So do these guys normally eat beans or these they’re eating something else? They areĀ
futarian which means only eat fruits. No insect, no meat, just fruits and also coffee cherries.Ā
Wow. Okay. So let’s try to open it up here. So you just peel it like this and then you simply takeĀ
off each of the shells and then like that. There you have it. Pretty cool. Hours at 120°. Okay. AndĀ
then you can see the result over here. Very hot. Yeah. Oh wow. This is more familiar for you guys.Ā
Yeah. Wow. Oh my gosh. Oh, it smells amazing. Yes. Actually, they’re edible. Yeah. I know. I alwaysĀ
eat coffee beans. Oh my gosh. That’s crazy. YouĀ Ā can eat them with coconut sugar. No, I just eatĀ
them on their own. No, you have to try. Okay, I’ll try. I’ll try. Wow. It’s going to tasteĀ
like coffee caramel. Thank you. Wow. Okay, so we’ve got coconut sugar and coffeeĀ
beans. Let’s try. Thank you. You’re welcome. Wow, the flavor is really smooth.Ā
A lot of coffee. Okay, guys. So, let’s try the coffee. So, first I’m going toĀ
taste it without the sugar. Sophia won’t be trying it cuz she doesn’t really like coffeeĀ
that much. But I do want to try. You want to try? Okay. It’s quite Oh, it’s very hot. I’llĀ
put this down. The flavor is quite smooth. It’s like a It’s really rich, but not richĀ
strong. More like rich in flavor. Low caffeine, low bitterness, low acidity. Yeah. YouĀ
want to try? Just take a little sip. You got it. It’s good. Do you like it or I like it? Yeah.Ā
Could you drink the whole cup? No. You’re not a coffee lover. But yeah, guys. is pretty good.Ā
Not bad for poo coffee. I’ve just been let inside the cage. And you can see here the luak is justĀ
chilling. So, they’re actually nocturnal animals, which means they normally sleep during the day,Ā
but this guy, he’s quite fat, too. But, uh, prettyĀ Ā cool. Thank you. Wow. Amazing. I didn’t thinkĀ
I’d be let in the cage with it. I really want to pat it, but you shouldn’t touch it. No. No. No.Ā
No. Yeah. It’s dangerous. Wow. Okay. Bye. [Music] That is that is soft. Oh myĀ
gosh, it is pouring. Here, hold this. I’ll get it. No, I’ll getĀ
it. You’ll get it? Yeah. No. No. Oh no. Matt, you’re here. Are you okay? No, I’m not. WeĀ
got so wet and all of the stuff from the car fell out as we were running out. Oh my gosh, guys.Ā
There is so much rain. Look at these stairs up here. This is like something out of a movie. OhĀ
my gosh. That is crazy. So much water. Waterfall. Oh my gosh. Okay, so now we got to cross allĀ
the way over there. Ready? Yes. Let’s go. Is that wonderful? Oh my gosh. Put it on. PutĀ
it on. No, that was not fun, guys. My shoes are soaked. Oh my gosh. Are you all right? Okay.Ā
So, turns out we can’t reschedu for later in the day because this is the last session. So, we’reĀ
going to go in these golf carts anyway and then just sit in the waiting area near the temple andĀ
hope that the rain stops so we can walk around the temple. Originally, we got permission to walkĀ
up to the top, but that’s not going to happenĀ Ā in this in this weather. So, um yeah, reallyĀ
really sucks. Be a fun adventure. Yeah. So, let’s go. You can see, guys, how flooded it is.Ā
It’s just crazy. Oh my gosh. Okay, here we go. Gosh. Okay, so we arrived at the temple. HereĀ
it is. It’s very, very rainy and we are very, very wet. Yeah, we’re very wet and there’sĀ
lightning and thunder everywhere, whichĀ Ā isn’t too safe because we’re holding an metalĀ
umbrella. Um, yeah. So, we can climb up there, but I don’t think we’re going to. It’s uhĀ
it’s too wet. It’s not safe. So, yeah. Uh, we’ll see you guys later. Okay. So, we’reĀ
now in a we’re now in a horror film. Uh, we’re about to look for lava coming from theĀ
volcano. So, this is our last stop for today. And our guide is just taking us now. Ryan is justĀ
taking us now. Ryan, do you think we’ll find lava? I’m not sure because 50/50. So, this is what it’sĀ
meant to look like. Obviously, it’s night time, but uh yeah, let’s see. Hello. Okay, so we’reĀ
just going now. It doesn’t look that promising, but let’s see. Okay, so I don’t know if you guysĀ
can see anything, but it’s meant to be there, but the clouds are covering it. So, from here, guys,Ā
there’s dark behind here, but yeah, we’re meant to see it. But unfortunately, the clouds are coveringĀ
it, so no worries. But we have this photo. So guys, I just took a night mode shot, right? AndĀ
then I zoomed in on the photo and look at this, right? Look how scary that looks. That looks likeĀ
someone’s there, right? And then look that that’s what it was. But it was so scary because on here,Ā
look, it looks like a ghost. And then here it justĀ Ā looks normal. Pugy orday and good morning guysĀ
from the beautiful city of Suraya in our favorite country of Indonesia. So today we’re going toĀ
be exploring around Suraya and understanding this amazing city. I believe this is the secondĀ
biggest city in the Java region of Indonesia. At the moment we are at one of the very significantĀ
monuments here in Suraya. And this monument represents in 1945 essentially the local uhĀ
Indonesian people were fighting the Dutch and the British for a kind of independence. And uh onceĀ
that happened they sort of built this monument. Now, this monument actually represents a uh bambooĀ
stick showing how the fighters from the Indonesian side were actually young youths and they wereĀ
untrained, right? So, that sort of just represents the realness and the rawness and how they sortĀ
of got their uh independence from that. So, yeah,Ā Ā super cool to visit this site today. That looksĀ
spectacular. Yeah. And we’re here in a beautiful blue sky day. So, uh yeah, let’s explore thisĀ
beautiful city together. Let’s explore. [Music] So, I’ve came around to uh this side of theĀ
monument and there’s all little fish in here.Ā Ā I don’t know how well you guys can see that, butĀ
yeah, there’s uh there’s fish in here. They have fish. Yeah, we need to find It’s in the plastic.Ā
Oh, it’s stuck in the plastic. Oh my gosh, it’s come right into the plastic. Oh no. Oh, IĀ
don’t know if you guys can see that. I wonder if we can get a stick to help him. And as you canĀ
see here, this shows the uh the movement between the uh the local people and the Dutch and BritishĀ
forces. So, yeah, quite cool to see. And uh the monument actually stands at 41 m tall. And I haveĀ
to say it’s quite a beautiful site to see. So, I’m just going to see now if we can buy food for theĀ
fish. Couldn’t really find a stick to help save that fish, but yeah. Let’s see. You have a fishĀ
food. Food for fish. This? Yeah. Like, is it this? Yeah. How much? 5,000. 5,000. Okay. Thank you,Ā
Kamakasi. So, we got our fish food. Hopefully, what I’m thinking is if we put heaps of fish foodĀ
where that fish is stuck in the bag, then all the fish around it will move and hopefully freeĀ
the fish. But, I don’t know. It’s hard to say, guys. Oh, there’s the fish there. See, I don’tĀ
know if you can see that, guys, but the fishĀ Ā is in the bag just here. It just needs to turnĀ
around. So, what I’m going to try and do is make all the fish crowd around it, and then hopefullyĀ
it will sort of free free the fish. Let’s see. Come on. There we go. All right, that might helpĀ
free the fish. Okay, guys. So, sort of good news. I can’t see the fish in the bag, so I’m thinkingĀ
either the fish has escaped or it’s underneath theĀ Ā water. I think my plan worked. You can put moreĀ
food than that. Yeah, there you go. [Applause] So, I’m hoping, guys, the fish got knocked out ofĀ
the bag, but let’s see. But this is really bad,Ā Ā guys. If you come here, please don’t litter.Ā
Like, we literally just saw firsthand how plastic just ruins our environment. Should weĀ
feed the fish on this side? Fish on this side,Ā Ā would you like some food? Woohoo! food. Come. Wow.Ā
I was going to see if I can feed it with my hand, guys, but it’s pretty um it’s pretty dirty asĀ
well, so I don’t think I’ll bother. Here, guys. Take my food. Will they jump up? Yeah. And we’llĀ
put the rubbish in the bin, guys. Right here. So, no fish get drowned again. Okay, guys. I boughtĀ
one more bag cuz I’ve always wanted to just put the whole bag in at once. So, let’s see. I’mĀ
going to put the whole bag in at once and seeĀ Ā how crazy they go. First, I’ll get them all here.Ā
Come on, fish. I’ll just put a little bit. So, they come just a little bit. Okay, now I’m justĀ
going to put the whole bag. Let’s see. Wa! They’re just going crazy. Okay, so we are now going toĀ
the other side of the city to the seaside to uh see the ocean in Indonesia here for the firstĀ
time. Uh and there’s a whole heap of differentĀ Ā other uh like statues and temples and let’s seeĀ
a whole heap of other things there. So yeah, let’s go there now and explore. Are youĀ
excited? I’m so excited. One thing, guys,Ā Ā it is so hot today. Already sweating and we’veĀ
only been out for 10 minutes. Our driver’s on the way now. We’re using the GoJack app. Super easyĀ
to book with, by the way. Not sponsored at all, but if you’re coming to Indonesia,Ā
this is the app you need to get. Okay,Ā Ā after you. Your favorite color. Yellow car. Hello.Ā
[Music] Mickey, this is for you. Okay. Okay. Thank you. Thank you so much. Okay. Buy your son an iceĀ
cream. Okay. Okay. Tonight for dessert. Okay. You give to your son. Okay. Bye-bye. Okay. And we justĀ
made it to the shark and crocodile statue here. That’s why it’s called suraya. Exactly. So I’m notĀ
sure if crocodile means shua or shark means ba, but one of them means sura. So crocodile and sharkĀ
mean suraya. So yeah, let’s explore around here. There’s a whole different heap of cool thingsĀ
happening here. So, uh, there’s horse riding,Ā Ā there’s markets, there’s people. So, yeah,Ā
let’s, uh, let’s go and have a look around. And let’s look at the ocean, too. Today’s a SundayĀ
as well, guys. So, there’s lots of kids out from,Ā Ā uh, school, and they’re actually playingĀ
with kites. Okay, we got to walk through them without getting hit by the string. Hello.Ā
Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Oh, hi. What’s this? My name is Jack. What’s your name? Ryan.Ā
Ryan. Wow, nice name. What? What is this? Bang. Banang. Banang. Bang. Banang. IndonesianĀ
for kite. Yeah. Okay. Cool. Okay. Bye-bye. Bye. Bye. Wow. It’s uh all happening down here,Ā
guys. I have to say there’s different boats and everything you can get. Oh my gosh. Oh, cool.Ā
So, there’s a whole area where you can sit and look at the ocean. The ocean looks a littleĀ
bit brown today, guys. I don’t know if we’llĀ Ā sit. What do you reckon? I think we’ll justĀ
keep keep on exploring. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. So, they have all different types of artwork andĀ
uh everyone’s trying to sell everything today and uh lots and lots of people outĀ
here today. So many curious people,Ā Ā too. Wow. Hello. How are you? Good. WhatĀ
are you doing? Just chilling. No English. Okay. Bye-bye. He froze after I started talkingĀ
more English. That’s funny. So, everyone is trying to uh sell us something today. Hello, mister.Ā
No, no, that’s fine. Thank you. And because it’s Sunday, it’s very busy. You can see we’ve got allĀ
families out here. And uh Hello. Hi. How are you? What’s your name? High five. Woohoo. Nice to meetĀ
you. Nice to meet you. What a confident young man. So yeah, there’s all different family out hereĀ
today. And uh this seems to be the place to chill and drink coconuts on the beach, which uh whoĀ
who wouldn’t want to do that on a lovely Sunday. Hello. How are you? High five. Handshake. TheseĀ
kids run up to us. Hi. Hello. Hi. How are you? High five. Oh, you want to take a selfie? Okay.Ā
Bye-bye. Bye. Everyone here is so friendly and so curious. Bye-bye. You can see here, guys, theyĀ
also have the old wooden uh boats as well. So, all of these are handmade. And uh yeah, youĀ
can see this one here is out of use. But uh the fisherman would go out early in the morning,Ā
collect fish, and bring them back. So, yeah,Ā Ā they even have horse riding over here as well.Ā
Ready to Yeah. And it looks like they’ve even dyed the hor’s hair. Let’s Let’s go have a look.Ā
I’m not going to ride. We We won’t ride the horse,Ā Ā guys, because I don’t think the horses areĀ
treated the best, to be honest. So, I don’t want to support this. Hello. Can I see? Oh, you’veĀ
dyed it red. Wow. The hor’s hair is red. Oh, no. No. No. Indonesian. Yeah. From from Nepal.Ā
Pink hair. Pony. Wow. This little girl’s on one, too. Hi. Okay. No problem. Thank you. Bye-bye.Ā
So, a lot of the people are actually yelling ble, which means uh foreigner or white person.Ā
So, I’m just starting to hear that now. Oh,Ā Ā you can see. Wow, look at all the shells. Oh, thisĀ
is beautiful. You can see all the kids swimming, too. See all the shells, Sophia? Yeah. SoĀ
beautiful, right? I guess it comes off when they when they’re fishing, but maybe this is justĀ
part of the natural beach as well, I think. So,Ā Ā we can see here. I have no idea what this is,Ā
but this looks like a local snack of some sort. It’s really weird. I think it’s from the ocean,Ā
guys. If you know, let me know in the comments.Ā Ā So, right now, we’re just walking through aĀ
little local community. And you can see here, they’re just processing the seafood. Oh my gosh.Ā
Wow. They’re about to open this up and pullĀ Ā something out. They’re shocking. Wow. So, in thereĀ
is the seafood. Hello. Hello. Hi. I’m not sure what’s inside there, guys, but these are the emptyĀ
shells. You can see that she’s hitting the end off and then opening it up. Wow. Very cool. ThankĀ
you. Bye-bye. And we can see here there’s more of whatever it is. Hard to say. I don’t know whatĀ
this is. I think it’s a plant. No, no, no. Prawn. Prawn? No, it’s not prawn. It looks like it. LikeĀ
you fry this in oil and it pops up. Oh, like prawn chips. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. IĀ
think you’re right. And you can see here, guys,Ā Ā here’s more of the filleted fish that they’ve cutĀ
this morning. And yeah, more down here is uh is more local area. So, pretty cool. So you can seeĀ
here guys, all the locals utilize all the public space as well, just to even hang their laundry,Ā
which is what I love. So you can really see thatĀ Ā this is a a local spot. And these little kidsĀ
here are just playing with the cat. Hello. Hi. What’s your name? How are you? Nice to meet you.Ā
Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you, Chua. Chew. What’s chu? Chocolate. Money. Money. Chocolate.Ā
Chocolate. Okay. We don’t have chocolate. Where? Where? Chocolate. Where is the shop? Okay. ShouldĀ
we give them some money to buy chocolate? I thinkĀ Ā so. Okay. Here. You can buy chocolate. Okay. Okay.Ā
Hang on. Hang on. Hang on. Just wait. Okay. Here. Okay. Share. Okay. Everybody. Okay. You buyĀ
chocolate for eating. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Bye. Bye. Bye. A kids are so cute. How can you sayĀ
no to six-year-olds who want some chocolate? So, here guys, we have some little tiny birds. Wow.Ā
All different species. Yeah. I wonder if they sell them or if they’re just pets. They’ve put littleĀ
bananas on the inside for them to eat. Okay, guys.Ā Ā So, we’re just getting our next taxi. But while weĀ
wait, I’ve just spotted this uh Everyone’s yelling bully. I just spotted this horse with stars on itĀ
and I think they’ve spray painted stars onto the horse. Oh my gosh. Hello. Oh my gosh. I thoughtĀ
it was going to charge at me, guys. But yeah, you can see all the stars on it and it’s havingĀ
a nice feed. I think the guy who owns the horseĀ Ā knows that I don’t want to ride it, but justĀ
take a photo. So, what do you think so far? I think people are very friendly, especially kidsĀ
and like everyone is so confident and trying to talk to you and I’ve always wanted to experienceĀ
this in Indo Indonesia. Like I wanted to see the local vibe and local people and everything.Ā
So yeah, this is great. That’s good. Yeah, I agree. Like the local experience has justĀ
been awesome and everyone’s so like they’reĀ Ā so not shy just come and talk to you and then IĀ
get shy now. Yeah, that’s true. Right. [Music] Okay, so we’ve just came to the Song HanĀ
Tang Temple which is actually behind us and we’ll try and go there in a minute. It actuallyĀ
looks closed. But here is the other side. And uh this is a Buddhism temple and is actually uhĀ
built I believe by uh for the Chinese for Chinese Buddhism. Even though guys it actually looks quiteĀ
similar to Hinduism. Now I definitely know that this temple is Chinese here, but I’m guessing thisĀ
one is Chinese as well because it’s next door. But if I’m wrong, uh let me know in the comments.Ā
I couldn’t find any information about this one.Ā Ā But you can see Buddha there with uh four heads.Ā
Usually uh when Buddha has more than one head, it usually represents like some type of Hinduism.Ā
They do have Ganesha over here which is part of the Hinduism god as well. So I’m not tooĀ
sure. Hello. Hello. Hello. I am Jack. Jack. Jack. What’s your name? Sh. Sean, this is yourĀ
brother. Kids here are so cute. Let’s see if we can get inside the Chinese temple. Oh, he’s inĀ
trouble. Flower. Oh, you gave her your flower. Oh, so cute. Curly hair. Wow. So pretty. SoĀ
pretty. Wow. I love your hair. A lot of Indonesians don’t have hair like that. Beautiful.Ā
Hi. So pretty. Wow. Oh, thumbs up. Nice. So guys, good news. It’s not closed. Just the two mainĀ
gates are shut and the side gate is open. Uh, which is good. Okay. Ready to explore? ready toĀ
explore. Oh, Mickey Mouse is here. Hi, Mickey. Hi, Pink Dormon. Hi, Doron. Okay, guys. I’m not sureĀ
if we can film inside, but let’s see. [Music] Okay, so we just arrived and we walked throughĀ
the temple. Uh, it was a little bit weird cuzĀ Ā you had to walk through the temple to come here,Ā
but no worries. But what do you think of this? Just beautiful, right? It’s just stunning. It’sĀ
like China, right? Yeah. So, this is actuallyĀ Ā a Confucianism uh temple built for Chinese andĀ
Buddhists here in Indonesia. And they say this is like the gateway to the ocean. So, reallyĀ
beautiful. So, this is Confucism and Towism,Ā Ā which is the sect of the uh of the BuddhismĀ
religion. I didn’t know they prayed to um laughing Buddha, you know, like that. The fatĀ
laughing Buddha. I just thought like thereĀ Ā was this like decorative thing. Yeah. ButĀ
they they do pray. So you see here they’ve got the incense sticks and everything.Ā
So yeah. And also over here this guy is um selling the ability to take photos withĀ
owls. Um which we which we might do. Should we do this? Yes. Maybe. Yeah. I mean I thinkĀ
it’s okay. The owls look pretty healthy. Okay. Oh wow. Okay. Oh, he’s only light. And you can seeĀ
here, guys, they’ve put band-aids around its claws cuz its claws are really sharp. It looks likeĀ
looks a little bit sad, but it’s hard to tell. So guys, these guys are still standing and havingĀ
a cigarette. Hello. Hello. Where are you from, sir? Australia. Australia. Nice to meet you,Ā
brother. You’re having you’re having a vape. Yeah. Yeah. Nice. It’s hot, right? Yes. Yeah. VeryĀ
hot. You working every day this job. Okay. Well, let me give you some money. Oh, wow. You’ve doneĀ
well for yourself. Alhamdulillah. Wow. Indonesia. No. Indonesia. Nepal. Nepal. I was reallyĀ
surprised, guys, because as soon as I looked in their donation box, they had lots of money. IĀ
thought that they didn’t have much money in there, but it’s still good to give, so that’s good.Ā
Okay, now here’s our next taxi. Onto the next adventure. [Music] Okay, so good day and goodĀ
morning guys or saloman pugi from the beautiful Flores Island here in Lumban Bajjo in Indonesia.Ā
We finally made it to paradise. So today’s video is going to be filled of excitement, fun,Ā
diving, beach activities, and most importantly, Komoto Island. That’s right, we are goingĀ
to see the Komoto dragons in real life. Today’s going to be a great day and Sophia is soĀ
excited. She’s packing our bags getting ready forĀ Ā our overnight tour today. But what I just wantedĀ
to tell you guys is how we got to this island. A lot of people are quite curious. Do you take aĀ
boat from Bali? Do you fly in? Well, I’m glad that you asked. Uh so we flew from Surabaya. Uh you canĀ
also fly from Jakarta. You can fly from Bali. Many other major cities in Indonesia. And once youĀ
arrive, you can actually uh then book a taxi to your hotel. When we booked the taxi, we used uhĀ
Gojack, which is the app here. But to do that, to book our taxi, we actually used Nomad ESIM.Ā
And you might be wondering, what is an eSIM? Well, an ESIM is essentially just a SIM card, but inĀ
form of an app. So rather lining up for your physical SIM card at an airport where there’s soĀ
many people lining up and it’s super stressful. You can actually download the EIM on the app theĀ
night before. And like as soon as we touched down, we had data. I literally just bookedĀ
a taxi to come to this beautiful hotelĀ Ā as you can see here behind me with thisĀ
amazing, beautiful beach view. So yeah, quite helpful. So if you’re coming here, make sureĀ
that you download the Grab app, the Go Jack app, especially for anywhere in Indonesia. And uh yeah,Ā
use Nomad to uh to stay connected. So yeah, I’ll uh I’ll go see Sophia. We’ll eat some breakfastĀ
and let’s get today started. Should be good. Okay, so we’re now waiting for our uh for ourĀ
guide to pick us up in the van and we’re going to Find Nemo. Find Nemo. But we’re going to where?Ā
Komodo Island. Yeah, we’re going to Komodo Island. So, not just are we going to see the KomodoĀ
dragons, but we’re also going to see Nemo, Dory, and all the other amazing fish. I’m soĀ
excited. So, yeah. Come along with us today. Let’s have fun. Let’s have fun. Okay, our carĀ
is here. Ready to go. Ready to go. Let’s go. Good morning. Morning. How are you? I’m good.Ā
How about you? Good, thank you. Where you from,Ā Ā sir? Australia. Ah, Australia. Nepal.Ā
Yeah. Good night. Good day, mate. [Music]Ā Ā Okay, so we just arrived to the boat terminal andĀ
there’s lots of people trying to sell us things, but uh yeah, let’s see if we can get on this boat. Okay, let’s go. I love the ocean. All right. So,Ā
we are waiting here for half an hour until we get on the boat. And yeah, pretty. Yeah. Yeah. There’sĀ
a whole heap of different shops in the background here. So, this is your last chance to buy anyĀ
snacks or beer or anything. I’m good. Yeah, I’m good, too. So, apparently on the islands, likeĀ
the alcohol and everything’s quite expensive. Um, so definitely bring snacks and alcohol andĀ
anything that you want to bring from theĀ Ā main island because otherwise you’re going to beĀ
paying probably double on the Komodo Island. So, and I think it’s going to be so much fun.Ā
The ocean looks so beautiful like blue sky, blue ocean like and all the other people thatĀ
we’ve seemed to meet who are I believe coming on our boat have seemed quite nice so far.Ā
So, yeah, it should be a good good group ofĀ Ā people. What you doing? What are you searchingĀ
on traje? I just wanted to know about island, right? Oh. Oh, okay. But it’s just so goodĀ
cuz I have nomads. Yeah. There’s no Wi-Fi, right? It’s hot. And I just wanted to know whatĀ
where we are about this island. So So Komodo, it has over 2,000 Komodo dragons and divingĀ
and snorkeling, pink beach, hiking and views, island hopping. I think we’re in for a real treat.Ā
Isn’t it good though? Cuz like with your data, you don’t have a physical SIM card. So, you’reĀ
using Nomad, which is just like an app and youĀ Ā just install the SIM card. Super easy, right?Ā
Yeah. Cool. So, you can see guys here behind me. This is a SIM card place for a physical SIM card.Ā
And I just looked at the prices. Super expensive. $40 for 7 days. And imagine like having to standĀ
there for hours to wait your turn to buy a SIM card. Yeah. Then you have to give your passport.Ā
you have to show your ID, your phone number,Ā Ā all these unnecessary things. Whereas with Nomad,Ā
you just make an account and I checked for the same deal. It was only $15. So much cheaperĀ
and easier, too, cuz you can just lie in bed and install it. These guys, you know, they’reĀ
stressed. They’re not sure when their boat’sĀ Ā about to go and they have to rush and get a SIMĀ
card. Nomad is the way, let me tell you. Sim card, no problem. Nomad’s here. That’s right. Okay,Ā
so finally after 1 hour. Yeah. Not half an hour. 1 hour. 1 hour. We’re finally boarding. We’reĀ
following the orange shirt guy. He’s our guide for the next day. So, yeah, should be good. So,Ā
we have to get on a small boat first and then get on a big boat. So, four people on the small boatĀ
first. So, we can see there’s so many differentĀ Ā boats going to all the main boats. Okay. So, hereĀ
is our little boat. [Music] Get on. All right. Thank you. Welcome. Okay, this should be good.Ā
It’s quite hot today, isn’t it? Yeah. Okay, bye-bye. Bye. Woohoo. Let’s go.Ā
Okay, I wonder what boat is ours, guys. I wonder if it’s woodenĀ
or white. Let’s find out. Okay,Ā Ā guys. Looks like our boat was the woodenĀ
one just here. So, very quick. Hello. This looks pretty nice, guys. So, beautifulĀ
little chill area and uh a lovely deck where we can take photos. So cool. First impressions.Ā
Amazing. Amazing. Yeah. Got fruit, tea, coffee, biscuits. Beautiful. Lovely. Beautiful view.Ā
The boat is a little bit on the older side, but hey, that’s okay. Adds character. Wow. AndĀ
uh this is the captain’s deck down here, guys. looks like where everyone else is sleeping. So,Ā
this is like the shared accommodation. And then this is one of the private rooms with theirĀ
own door, which is what Safare and I have. So, uh yeah, this is pretty cool, guys, I have toĀ
say. So, here is another chill out spot at the back. Here’s what the toilet and shower situationĀ
looks like. Pretty basic, but western toilet. Can’t complain. Here’s the back of the boat, theĀ
kitchen. Hello. Hello. And lovely kitchen here. And look at that view. Beautiful. Wow. You’reĀ
the cook. Okay, we’ll get some good food then, right? Yeah. Yummy food. Okay. Very good. AndĀ
another toilet in here. And this one, I think, might be a private cabin. I’m not sure. Oh,Ā
yeah. And here is another private cabin. So, yeah. Pretty cool. Wow. Oh, and it even has AC.Ā
That’s uh that’s something I did not expect. I think all of the rooms have AC, actually,Ā
cuz you can see the AC units here. [Music] Okay, so we are finally off and away and moving.Ā
I’m not too sure how long until our first stop. Maybe an hour or so. Yeah. Let’s see how manyĀ
actual tours are going to the same spot weĀ Ā are. Hopefully, it’s not too overcrowded.Ā
We’ll uh we’ll soon find out. Okay. So, do you want in the down or in the wrong?Ā
Um I think uh which is which is cooler, not hot in here. It’s cold. No hot. Okay. Okay.Ā
This is good then. Oh, we have AC. Yeah. Air on. Yes. Okay. Great. Not turn on yet. Let meĀ
turn on. Yeah. No problem. Okay. Thank you. So, you can open the Yeah. Wow. Yeah. Perfect. ThisĀ
is great on the top. We’ve got windows in this one. I’m pretty sure the other ones didn’t haveĀ
windows, so this is really good. Downstairs. Yeah. And this is going to be good. We got AC. Perfect.Ā
Woohoo. So, good morning for everyone. How are you this morning? Good. All right. Okay. So, all theĀ
crew belonging agency would like to say welcome to Flores Island. So, my name is Maggas SU tourĀ
guy and the captain his name is Mr. Rama. [Music] Okay, so we just got a briefing from Vgas.Ā
Really, really nice guide, right? Yeah, really lovely. And uh they’ve got a chillĀ
out spot at the back as well. And so, yeah,Ā Ā about an hour and a half to our first stop whereĀ
we’re going to see baby sharks. I’m so excited. Are you scared? Yeah, I’m a little bit scared. ItĀ
should be okay though. Why is that wood then? Oh, this is like just in case this boat uh stopsĀ
working, then we have a emergency boat, but it will also be used to take us to theĀ
island. Pretty cool. You remind everything. Yeah. Speaking of I wonder if weĀ
have data out here. Let’s see. Oh, we do. Oh my gosh. We have five bars, guys.Ā
I don’t know if you can see that. Let me showĀ Ā you. You can see that we’ve got five bars ofĀ
data. We don’t have Wi-Fi on board. So, yeah. Thank you to Nomad for saving us. Nomad eim. SoĀ
good. The best. So good. [Music] So guys, I don’t know if you can see that. We’ll zoom in, but justĀ
there is our hotel that we just stayed in. So, uh, pretty cool to see. So, there was our hotelĀ
and the mainland, the main town is just there. So, not too far. Relaxing, steering theĀ
boat with your feet. How are you? I’m good. What is your name? Uh, Arum. Arum. You.Ā
Jack. Jack. Nice to meet you. From Australia. Australia. Oh, good. Yeah. Australia. Yeah.Ā
Wow. Nice. Nice. Yeah. Yeah. Very good. So, 1 hour. 1 hour. Time. Time. Okay. Okay. So, weĀ
just arrived to our first spot and uh yeah, this where we’re going to see the baby sharks. Okay.Ā
So, we’re uh just getting changed now and yeah, we’re going to switch over to the waterproofĀ
camera. So, I’ll see you guys there. Okay. So,Ā Ā this will be your first time using this, right?Ā
Yeah. All right. I’ll have to show you what to do. So, yeah, we just got here, guys. As you canĀ
see, it’s so beautiful. And I’ve already spotted a few sharks in the water. Uh but we’ll showĀ
you guys that on the underwater camera. [Music] Okay. So, what happened? Finally, I was ableĀ
to swim. You swam for the first time? Guys,Ā Ā we’ve been My mom and myself have beenĀ
teaching Sophia to swim for the past year, and she finally swam by herself. This isĀ
the best. You swam from like here all the way out like 20 m. Yeah, it was so muchĀ
fun. And we saw so many sharks as well. I’m so proud of you. Thank you so much.Ā
Mom’s going to be so proud of you. Yeah,Ā Ā mom. She swam. You can see, guys, right hereĀ
is a baby shark. Oh my gosh. So close. [Music] Guys, I didn’t realize it, but when IĀ
was exploring, taking some shots, I justĀ Ā realized there’s a whole little beach just here.Ā
Wow. How cool is this? Wow. Let’s go. [Music] Guys, look at just how clear this water is. YouĀ
can literally see to the bottom. Wow. I love the water. Oh, it’s so cold as well. So nice.Ā
Like not too cold, but really refreshing. Oh, beautiful. Wow. So, this I’m going to takeĀ
home. You’re going to take that home? Okay. Found a little treasure treasure memory thatĀ
I swam for the first time. It’s amazing. You swam for the first time with baby sharks withĀ
baby sharks in crystal clear waters on a remote island. Couldn’t do much better than that. ThankĀ
you, Lord. Wow. So guys, I just spotted something really interesting. So this guy just came fromĀ
one of the neighboring islands, drove all the way here, and then just started throwing coconutsĀ
in the water. And I thought, what’s he doing?Ā Ā Well, he can’t actually come right to the shoreĀ
because you’re not allowed to. So, the coconuts actually float when they’re in the water. So,Ā
now he’s collecting them all and he’ll drag themĀ Ā all the way up to this pile here so they can sellĀ
coconuts to tourists. How cool is that? So, yeah, there you go. Didn’t think that was possible.Ā
Okay, look at the size of that. Oh my gosh, it just leaked. Leaking again. How is it? So good.Ā
You want to try? Oh, that’s sweet. That’s really nice. It’s so big, too. Look at the size of it.Ā
It’s almost bigger than my head. It’s bigger than your head. Yeah. Wow. I got a beer for laterĀ
as well, guys. I got a bint tang lemon. It’s pretty cheap, too. Only 50,000 for the beerĀ
and 30,000 for the coconut. So, on a island, it’s pretty good prices. So far, so good. I’m justĀ
loving it. It’s really awesome. Wa! Very good. That’s one way to start diving. Okay, so thereĀ
is lunch done. We’re here for the next 3 and 1/2 hours on this spot. And uh they’re going toĀ
bring us on this little boat here to the reef. So, are you excited? So, first we got to put onĀ
some sunscreen and then yeah, we’ll get ourĀ Ā snorkels and go and explore the reef. We’ll findĀ
Nemo and Dory and all sorts hopefully. Okay, guys. We just saw a massive turtle in theĀ
water here. Now, I ran to get my camera,Ā Ā but now it’s disappeared. It’s about this big. ItĀ
was humongous. Um hopefully we see another one, but let’s see. Oh my god. Somebody take a picture.Ā
There’s the turtle right there, guys. Oh my gosh. About to warm up. Wow. Wow. So guys, I just wantedĀ
to show you where we are on the map right now. And as you can see, we’re in between all of theseĀ
little islands. And you can see here all of theĀ Ā coral reefs. And we’re about to swim just hereĀ
in this coral reef here. But uh yeah, out here in the middle of the ocean, still connected toĀ
Wi-Fi, which is just crazy. Photos to my dad of uh of Sophia and I snorkeling before and all ofĀ
this because we had Nomad Eim. So, super easy and definitely recommend you guys downloading theĀ
Nomad app to be able to send photos in real time when you’re on your travels. So, right now we’reĀ
just chilling for the next hour or so and then uh we’ll go and do some more snorkeling.Ā
But I have to say this is just so beautiful. Okay, so we just got to the jetty and uh yeah,Ā
the guy just took us here. Just the that’s our just the three of us. So yeah, look at thisĀ
water, guys. This just looks crystal clear.Ā Ā We’ve got our fins as well. So we’re going to haveĀ
a good dive and see all the fish. Are you excited? I am super excited. Ready to swim again?Ā
Yeah. Okay. All right. Should be good, guys. [Music] [Music] All right. So, we’re back on theĀ
boat and I’m sorry to do this to you,Ā Ā Sophia. I know that you’re hurting, but whatĀ
happened? A jellyfish stung me. So, we just put some alcohol on it. That’s what the guide said toĀ
do, but I don’t know. And then she was like, “Ow, ow, Oh, and I quickly picked her up and put herĀ
in the boat. Thank you. It’s okay. But yeah,Ā Ā she’s going to have a shower now. Everyone elseĀ
is still down there, but there was little fish as well that were biting her legs like piranhas. I’veĀ
never seen that before. So, yeah, it to be honest, it wasn’t that pleasant. Fish biting you andĀ
then Sophia got stung by the jellyfish. It wasĀ Ā uh pretty full on. But uh anyway, yeah. So, uhĀ
yeah, she’s going to have a shower now and guess we’ll just relax for the next hour or two. ButĀ
really beautiful. There was a lot of fish. Okay,Ā Ā so they’ve now got the tunes going. We’ve got aĀ
few snacks. Mostly everyone’s back now from doing the snorkeling. Got some papaya, some fruit, someĀ
fried banana there. Sun’s coming down a little bit now. Absolutely beautiful. Not too hot either.Ā
Really lovely. And for those of you wondering, Sophia is feeling a little bit better now, butĀ
it still really, really stings for her guys. So, I think we might chill in the bean bags orĀ
something and just have a bit of a break. So, uh it’s sunset time and these boys rodeĀ
rode their boat all the way to our boat just to sell us some cool toys and different craftsĀ
that they’ve made, which is super cool. I think this one will look better. This is looks moreĀ
natural. So guys, we ended up buying this one, this little manta ray. And this was 50,000.Ā
So about $2 US for this. Pretty good price. [Music] So the boys were just saying thatĀ
their home is actually all the way over there, guys. Really far away. And they rode on theirĀ
boats for 1 hour just to get here to sell this So, um, yeah, good on them. They’re they’reĀ
on the hustle. So, guys, this village, this village all the way over there, that is whereĀ
they live. That is very far. Crazy, right? [Music] Okay, guys. It’s now food time. Look at allĀ
of this beautiful food. So, we got fish, we’ve got chicken, maybe beef, corn, and prawns,Ā
watermelon, some type of something in here. Okay, so we’ve got our food. How’s your food? To beĀ
honest, this is the best food I’ve tried in Indonesia. Really? It’s a lot different toĀ
the Indonesian food we’ve normally had. SoĀ Ā homey. Yeah, like on the orangutang tour. It wasĀ
quite good there, too. But I prefer this one. You like this one more? Wow. Awesome. Okay, guys.Ā
So, it’s hard to see at night time, but all of these boats here are Indonesian fishing boats, andĀ
they’re only allowed to fish in this area in just small nets. Uh they’re not allowed to use any bigĀ
nets, and these are real local fishermen that live uh and have rights to these waters. So, it’s superĀ
interesting. Okay, so after driving around 2 hours from the bats, we’re now about to anchor. And theĀ
boys here are just getting ready to anchor. Sophia is over there. And time to go to bed. Time to goĀ
to bed. So, here’s our room. Half AC. Other people are in the other half. And yeah, the engine’s justĀ
turned off. So, we’re definitely stopping now. And uh yeah, this will be our bed for tonight. See youĀ
guys in the morning. See you. Okay, good morning, guys. It is now 4:00 a.m. and we have woken upĀ
early to go and see the sunrise. All of the other boats here have also woken up and we are going onĀ
a hill just there. Right. Mhm. Just there. See, I just took a picture. Yeah, Sophia justĀ
took a picture. There’s a hill just there,Ā Ā believe it or not. You can’t really see it onĀ
camera, but Sophia’s night mode has got it up looking pretty good. So yeah, we’re going toĀ
climb up the top of that and watch the sunrise. I didn’t know that you’re climbing that. Yeah,Ā
that’s what we’re doing. Oh yeah. Wow. So yeah, it’s going to be good. Yeah, should be good. Okay,Ā
be careful. You okay? Yeah. Yeah. We just made it to the shore. Yeah. This looks so beautiful.Ā
So grand. Let’s uh let’s go. We’re wearing uh flipflops apparently. Uh, let’s see if that’sĀ
good hiking shoes or we might have to change. Everyone else is wearing flip flops, so we shouldĀ
be okay. Okay, so we just started and flip flops. Hiking with flip flops. And he just said thatĀ
it’s going to be around uh 10 or 20 minutes, maybe even 30, depends how slow we are. Wow, guys.Ā
So, we made it. Look how beautiful that is. That’s just stunning. So beautiful, right? Yeah. Oh myĀ
gosh. And uh we’re the only ones in this sort of spot here. There’s a few people over there, but ahĀ
this is so beautiful, right? Yeah. Okay, guys. So, we’ve now got the GoPro on a time lapse for you.Ā
And we just found an even more secluded spot away from everyone else. We’re the only ones here. TheĀ
sky is orange, purple, pink. So beautiful. Yeah. Okay, so we’re currently pink and purple. TheĀ
colors, guys, are absolutely beautiful. And yeah, you can see there’s more people all crowding upĀ
there. But as we learned on our travels, don’tĀ Ā be a sheep and follow the rest of the crowds.Ā
Sometimes you have to make your own path. So, we’ve came up to the stop no trespassing dangerĀ
area. No, we we were told that as long as we don’t go past these signs, then it’s all good. So, we’reĀ
fine here. But, uh yeah, super beautiful. And uh I can’t remember honestly can’t remember the lastĀ
time I woke up to watch a sunrise. Can you see?Ā Ā Uhhuh. So this is I’m not a morning person. Yeah,Ā
we’re not morning people. More sunset people, right? Yeah. Yeah. Sunny. This is beautiful.Ā
[Music] Hard to see on the camera, guys, but we’ve got purple, then we’ve got orange, thenĀ
we’ve got green, then we’ve got orange again. So beautiful. Now the purple is turning pink. Yeah.Ā
And we can now see the rest of the mountains and stuff now that the light’s coming out. Even downĀ
here, there’s a beautiful little bay area here as well. Black sand. So beautiful. And we can see allĀ
the people as well climbing up. So many different boats, different groups of people. But hey, we’veĀ
got this whole area to ourselves. Not bad at all. [Music]Ā Ā Okay, so the sun has officially rose and uhĀ
we’re going to walk back down now. And uh yeah, this is what it sort of looked like before cuz weĀ
couldn’t really show you guys. But uh some peopleĀ Ā are already walking down now. Uh we were told toĀ
meet back down at 6:45. It’s around 6:30 now. So yeah, such a beautiful view though. Amazing. Deer.Ā
Oh my gosh, two deer. Guys, there’s deer just here on the mountain. That is so cool. Oh my goodness.Ā
I didn’t know there’d be deer on these islands, guys. These islands are so small. And just deerĀ
us. Deer is right here. No one has any idea there’s deer here. Any idea? Get it? Wow, guys.Ā
Look at this deer. Oh my gosh, that is amazing. [Music] Okay, it’s breakfast time.Ā
What a amazing day. What amazing way I should say to start the morning. AĀ
lovely climb and then a nice breakfast. Okay, so you probably can’t see that guys, butĀ
it’s currently raining. The floor is a bit wet as well. Uh, so hopefully once we get to the pinkĀ
beach, it’s going to stop, but let’s see. Uh, yeah, the weather is a little bit miserable. So,Ā
one thing I just realized, guys, is tomorrow we are actually flying uh to Jakarta to then go onĀ
to China for our next trip. We’re going to China. I just realized we don’t have a hotel booked forĀ
tomorrow night in Jakarta. So, I quickly went onto a go and I just booked the cheapest hotel uh nearĀ
the airport. And uh yeah, this hotel is quite nice actually. But I did all of this because of NomadĀ
Eim. Uh so, right here in the middle of the ocean, two bars of internet, and I just booked the hotelĀ
for tomorrow night. No good. Having an eim is perfect because you can literally do all yourĀ
work wherever. Their coverage is just so good. [Music] Okay, so we’re coming up to the pink beach now.Ā
And as you can see, it’s not that pink, guys. Um, yeah, I think over tourism has sort of destroyedĀ
the pinkness. But let’s see how pink it is once we actually arrive. But from here doesn’t seemĀ
too pink. Okay, we’re off to Pink Beach for some more snorkeling. Woohoo. And the water, guys, isĀ
so beautiful. Look at that. Wow. Amazing. Okay, guys. So, we’ve made it to Pink Beach. And it’sĀ
a little bit pink. Just a little bit. Um, just a little bit. You can see the pigmentation in there.Ā
Uh but yeah, we’ve just stopped at this number three uh restaurant and our friend Matt is alreadyĀ
out there snorkeling, but there’s not much coral here. It’s just beautiful clear water. So, it’llĀ
be really nice to go in. I think Sophia wants a few photos and then we’ll uh we’ll go swimming.Ā
So, you can see guys, this pink coral here is what used to cover most of the beach, but now it’s sortĀ
of dissipated. And you can see here when you come in there’s tiny little pink pieces of coral andĀ
that’s what makes the pink effect. Uh yeah, pretty cool. [Music] So what happened? We were just aboutĀ
to go in and then we see a jellyfish. Yeah. And I don’t want to get stung again. Yeah. Sophia gotĀ
stung yesterday and we just saw a jellyfish andĀ Ā our friend Bin, she just got stuck strung byĀ
a jellyfish as well, right? So, don’t want to do that again. Yeah. Okay, so we’re now back onĀ
the boat. Uh it was raining so much over there, guys. Uh and yeah, it wasn’t that pleasant and theĀ
jellyfish didn’t help either, so we came back. But gosh, the view is just beautiful. So lovely. Okay,Ā
so we’re just going to chill here for a littleĀ Ā bit and then go to Komodo Island itself, which isĀ
the one with the Komodo dragon. The famous Komodo dragon. I can’t wait. Are you excited for theĀ
Komodo dragon? Yes. Should be good. Mhm. What is Komodo dragon? It’s like a big lizard. Yeah,Ā
we’ll soon see. Excited. Yeah. Okay, so the rain has finally disappeared. And where are we goingĀ
now? Komodo Island. Yeah. So, we’re finally going to see dragon. Finally going to see the KomodoĀ
dragon. So, I think it’s pretty much just straightĀ Ā ahead. I mean, that’s where we’re going. So, yeah,Ā
it’ll be interesting to see once we get there. Okay, so here we are. Komodo Island. I had noĀ
idea it was an actual town. I thought that it was just an island with heaps of komodo dragons, butĀ
turns out it’s a town. It even has its own mosque. Lots of boats are mowed here. There’s plentyĀ
of houses. It’s like a whole happening town,Ā Ā which is really cool. Okay, so we just arrived andĀ
all of these guys here with the sticks look like that they’re guides to show us the Komodo dragon.Ā
So, I guess it’s up in the hills. I’ll show you an image now behind the town. You can see hereĀ
guys, all their houses are on stilts. Just the concrete’s just held up by bamboo. So fascinating.Ā
Now you are in Komodo village and let me introduce smell safe. My name is D. I will be your guideĀ
today for seeing the Komodo animal and then to give you information about the Komodo dragon.Ā
Okay, so we’re off. So just before we left, he explained to us how someone died from gettingĀ
bitten. Six local people and two foreigners. Two foreigners. And the foreigners were from SingaporeĀ
and they went too close to the dragon and they were swinging their bags and this like disturbsĀ
the Komodo dragon. The Komodo dragon bit theirĀ Ā leg and the bacteria from the bite in their salivaĀ
actually ended up killing them like about a week later once they got back to Singapore. Hello. ThisĀ
guy’s going to protect us with his stick. So yeah, we got to watch out. We got to be really carefulĀ
cuz we don’t want to get bitten. No thank you. Oh, and wow, this is really a a littleĀ
village. They have little goats here. Hi,Ā Ā goat. Hi. Hello. Wow, theyĀ
have a big football oval. Okay, so we’re just taking a quick rest. So,Ā
one interesting fact is there’s 1,600 Komodo dragons on this island. Now, our guide wasĀ
just saying that on four of the other islands, the Komodo dragons are quite aggressive, butĀ
on this island, they’re not so much becauseĀ Ā they’re more used to people. So, superĀ
interesting to understand that. Okay. So, one interesting thing we just learned was thatĀ
they actually have a antibiotic, an antivenenom,Ā Ā I guess you could say, for the bite nowadays. Um,Ā
so in 2018 when the people from Singapore got bit, they didn’t have that antibiotic, butĀ
now they do, and they have it hereĀ Ā uh in the area. So, if any of of any ofĀ
us get bitten, then we should be okay. So, that makes me feel a lot better becauseĀ
I was thinking, what are we walking into? So, guys, here this white stuff on the ground,Ā
that’s actually the Komodo dragons uh feces, their poo. You might be thinking, why is it white?Ā
Well, what they do is they actually eat uh here’s some more here. They actually eat uh all of theĀ
bones and muscles and everything from the deers, from the goats, from the pigs, which isĀ
the type of stuff that they eat. So yeah,Ā Ā believe it or not, they the bones and everything.Ā
They swallow it all. And it’s stomach acid, I guess, manages that. So yeah, really uh reallyĀ
scary to think about that. Bones and all. Why they eat once a month? Yeah, that’s another goodĀ
point. Yeah. So they only eat once a month.Ā Ā They only need to eat once a month and then afterĀ
that they’re good. So they sort of like, you know, just go in slow mode and hibernation mode. ThisĀ
is it. This is real. Wow. What? Why is it so close to the town? Like why isn’t it in the jungle? UhĀ
because they’re cold blooded animals. Okay. Yes. They’ll stay here. They’ll stay here for controlĀ
the Okay. To heat up. I understand. Just mornings. Yes. But afternoons they can leg from under theĀ
tree. Oh. But no sleep just for control the body body temperature. Okay. Wow. You want to take aĀ
picture with Kimodo Dos everyone? Of course. I don’t know. We can take picture with Kimodo likeĀ
this. How close do we get? You stay behind her with me. Close. All right. Like this. Like this.Ā
Is this a male or female? Do you know? Is a maleĀ Ā dragon. Oh, okay. You stay here. Only stay hereĀ
if you want. Wow. Gosh, guys. I’ve never seen anything like this. It’s like a crocodile. Yeah.Ā
Okay, so there’s quite a few people around now and uh they’ve worked out a really good way toĀ
take photos. Uh you can see here, this is our photos. See how cool is that? So they’ve workedĀ
out a way you stand behind the Komodo dragon to take the photo. You can’t get within 5 m.Ā
Otherwise, they’re uh they they don’t like it. So, and I hope this guy isn’t hungry today, by theĀ
way, guys. Hope he’s already eaten like yesterday, so he’s not uh you know, agitated. So, anotherĀ
thing our guide was just saying is that uh they pretend to be lazy. They pretend to beĀ
asleep like that. And uh when they’re ready,Ā Ā they’ll just come and attack. So, that’s reallyĀ
crazy. So, they’ll if an animal just comes up, they’ll just attack it. Can they climb trees? UhĀ
just a baby. Oh, just only baby ones. Otherwise, they get too heavy. So, if we put a baby goat justĀ
there, it would eat it or no? Yeah. Yeah. If they see the baby goat from there, you see the Yeah.Ā
Yeah. There’s one down there. Yes. Yeah. If thereĀ Ā see the goat, you can see their move. They’reĀ
fast for a goat tree right there. Yeah. So guys, one thing I’m seeing everywhere is goats. AndĀ
uh probably from the people they’re farming theĀ Ā goats, but I can see where the Komodo dragonĀ
gets all of its food from because there’s everywhere. I look like there’s more goatsĀ
over there as well. Everywhere is goats. So,Ā Ā uh yeah, he’s a big boy, let me tell you.Ā
This one looks even more big now. [Music] So the the fork in the stick blocksĀ
its neck, right? Or block the neck. Oh, the back of the neck. Oh, youĀ
push it down. Yes. Like Oh,Ā Ā okay. I see. Yeah. Like I see. Okay. Okay. So,Ā
we’re now in the jungle now. And apparently the chances of seeing a Komodo dragon downĀ
here are a lot less. Um, but to be honest, guys, I’m a little bit suspicious as to whyĀ
there was so conveniently two of them under the tree. I don’t know. It just seemed too goodĀ
to be true. I don’t want to speculate anything, but it seems a bit weird because there’s aĀ
lot of tourism here, so I don’t know. [Music] So, we just found two more by the river here.Ā
These guys are together this time, which isĀ Ā interesting. So, guys, just then the uh the KomodoĀ
dragon opened its mouth. You could see all of its saliva and bacteria inside that it uses to killĀ
all its prey. Got to say that was pretty scary. I couldn’t see any teeth though, so it must reallyĀ
do a good bite to uh really get it. So they have total 67 teeth. Yeah. But very tiny like this.Ā
Oh, that’s why I couldn’t see it. Okay. So they’re small teeth, but their jaws must be really strong.Ā
Crocodile. Wow. It’s moving. Oh, what happened? So guys, this nest here behind me is actually usedĀ
for the Komodo dragons. Now, they can lay up to 20 to 30 eggs, but once they lay the eggs, theyĀ
sometimes actually eat them. And after, you know, after some time, maybe they’ll only end up havingĀ
five babies. This is super interesting. Yeah. IĀ Ā just I’m not too sure about this tour, guys. Like,Ā
these next lot of Komodo dragons were placed right next to the souvenir market. Something seems aĀ
little bit off, but I don’t know. I don’t know. I’m not too sure. I don’t know if the uh if theĀ
Komodo dragons have been drugged or if they’re fed every day here. I don’t want to speculate, butĀ
it seems all too convenient. I don’t know. Anyway, but it’s still quite interesting. We’reĀ
we’re learning a lot of stuff about them. So,Ā Ā what do you think about the tour, baby? Like theĀ
whole tour or just this one? Just this part. I think we got really lucky cuz we saw four komodedĀ
dragons without even trying. Yeah. Like just like 5 minutes walk and you bump into one and thenĀ
the other. That’s true. Yeah. Kind of felt like easy track. That’s right. We definitely gotĀ
lucky, but I Yeah, I don’t know, guys. I’m still a bit suspicious. It’s a bit weird. Like, justĀ
so convenient. Maybe I’m overthinking, but let us know in the comments if you’ve experienced theĀ
exact same spots you saw the Komodo dragons. I’d love to know in the comments. So, a lot of peopleĀ
in this village mainly rely on tourism. That’s whyĀ Ā it’s such a big village. though people are eitherĀ
making souvenirs, selling souvenirs, guides, um or you know, selling cold drinks and stuff likeĀ
that. Um so yeah, it’s quite good for the village. I mean, I’m sure that there was a lot of people uhĀ
when this village first started and uh yeah, they really made a business off the Komodo dragons.Ā
So, it’s quite good for the people here. [Music] Okay, so right now we are about I’d say about 20Ā
or 15 minutes away from the manta rays. Uh this will be our last stop for the trip and I cannotĀ
wait to see manta rays to be honest with you. Uh I don’t think I’ve ever seen one before snorkeling.Ā
I’ve definitely seen one like looking at the water. Uh, so this should be a amazing experience.Ā
Now, I believe that they don’t sting as far as I’m concerned. Um, but yeah, we’ll soon find out, IĀ
guess. Okay, so we have finally arrived to where supposedly the manta rays are. And as you can see,Ā
the water here is so crystal clear and blue and full of coral, I’m sure. So, I think we’ll parkĀ
our boat somewhere here, like the other boats. [Music]Ā Ā Okay, guys. I can’t wipe the smile off myĀ
face. We were in there in the middle of the ocean. There was so many currents and everything.Ā
All the boats were going around. The manta cameĀ Ā right next to us. We can see here. Matt got theĀ
footage just there, right next to us. You could literally touch its wing, its tail or whateverĀ
it is. Just crazy. That was so cool. I’m It sucks that you couldn’t go, but yeah, it would have itĀ
would have been too dangerous. It was It was soĀ Ā strong. Puggy or GD. And good morning, guys, fromĀ
the beautiful island of Borneo. That’s right. We are in Borneo for me. This is the third time onĀ
the world’s fourth biggest island. There’s Borneo, Malaysia, Borneo, Indonesia, and Borneo Brunai.Ā
Today we are on Borneo, Indonesia and we are going to see canonized monkey or what is commonlyĀ
known as the orangutang. We’re going to spend the next 2 days on a river cruise seeing differentĀ
types of monkeys, birds, and most importantly orangutangs in their natural habitat in theĀ
jungle of Borneo. So come along with us today. We’re just packed up in our hotel. Let’s goĀ
and let’s have fun. Let’s go. Woohoo. [Music] Okay, so we’ve just arrived and uh here we go downĀ
to the river. Let’s go. Wow, this is super local, guys. So, uh the river is just behind theseĀ
houses. Are you excited? I’m so excited. So, uh right now, guys, we’re walking on top of water.Ā
This is all uh just a deck and we’re about to board the boat. Some of the staff members came outĀ
to help with our bags. Wow, look at this. Amazing. Okay, my new head. Okay, here we go. My new head.Ā
You said tall. Very tall. Okay. My head. Good job. That wasn’t hard. No, that wasn’t hard. Wow.Ā
Hello. Hello. Wow. This is I can tell it’s already going to be a local experience. This one. Okay.Ā
Well, I think guys, this is our this going to be our room. They’ll shut all the curtains. This isĀ
going to be our room for the next two nights. Wow. This is going to be so in nature. Yeah. All right.Ā
Oh my gosh. Wow. I didn’t expect this. I thought it was going to be enclosed, but they’ll roll allĀ
the blinds down, I guess. Whole chill out area,Ā Ā hammock, bean bags. Oh, I can get used to this forĀ
2 days. Oh my gosh, it’s already so quiet as well. I thought there was going to be more touristsĀ
coming, but it’s only us. Okay, so we’re justĀ Ā up the top now. So, are you excited for the next 2Ā
days? I’m very excited. I can’t believe this whole boat is to ourselves. I know. I thought there’dĀ
be other tourists on here, but we booked a public tour, but there’s only us booking it, so now it’sĀ
turned into a private tour. Lucky. Yeah, guys, the private tour was like quite more expensive.Ā
So, this is uh this is really good. So lucky. And there’s three of us. And then there’s goingĀ
to be four crew. So, more crew than guests. I love our bedroom. It’s so nice, right? So,Ā
we just got a tour of the toilet, guys. So, it even has its own shower and you just flickĀ
that switch to turn on the pump. It has a toilet and a sink. I mean, what more could you ask for?Ā
This is amazing. Hello. How are you? How are you? Good. How are you? Very well, thank you. I’m niceĀ
to meet you. I’m tell Okay. Uh your backup right here. Please come upstairs. Okay. Perfect. WelcomeĀ
on board. So this is a home way from your home. So you’re going to sit right here 3 days and twoĀ
night with us with the crew right here on thisĀ Ā board. Right. We have a two cabin. We have a royalĀ
master cabin with a private bathroom. In the night time later on we going to covering one side andĀ
then we keep open one side. So there is air comeĀ Ā inside to you in the night time. And then your bedĀ
also is going to be set up with a mosquito on it. There is no mosquitoes down. That would beĀ
really good, right? Yeah. This is importantĀ Ā things. You know, during in the daytime there isĀ
no mosquitoes on the boat, but later on when you start to walk to the jungle. Yes, for sure. It’sĀ
going to be lot of mosquitoes and then they willĀ Ā love you so much. For sure. Very mosquito. VeryĀ
smart, you know. They know it’s the new member, the fresh one coming. Okay, guys. So, now we areĀ
at the mosque. You can see we’re currently docked up, but uh soon we’ll be uh we’ll be headingĀ
off. This is really cool. You can see this is where they steer the boat and everything.Ā
This is the uh whole area for the crew. So,Ā Ā this where all the crew will be staying.Ā
They’ve got all their mattresses. And uh this is bathroom number one, bathroom number two,Ā
and bathroom number three. So, a lot of bathrooms, which is good. Yeah. In here, the kitchen. AndĀ
uh they’re currently cooking up some lunch. And uh she’s got all of the food ready for us for theĀ
next 2 days, which will be great. And then yeah, you can see here this is where we can look out.Ā
Yeah. So in here they have one uh bedroom for the guests and then another bedroom here on thisĀ
side as well, which you can see here. So right now we’re just putting on some mosquito repellent.Ā
It’s very important. It’s very important. LikeĀ Ā there’s no mosquitoes currently, but it’s best toĀ
just be protected. always important to, you know, get protected before it actually happens. Okay,Ā
so the engines have started. We’re coming off theĀ Ā dock now. Careful. Okay, now we won’t returnĀ
back to this spot for another two nights and 3 days. Bye. Now that we’ve started moving,Ā
the breeze is coming in the hair as well, so it’s a lot less hot. Yeah, this isĀ
going to be a perfect trip. [Music] Okay, lunch time. Wow. Have someĀ
noodles, rice, vegetables. Wow, fish. Okay, so let’s give this a try. WeĀ
got the fish, rice, vegetables. Let’s go. I’m not even exaggerating for the camera. ThatĀ
is beautiful. So fresh. Okay, guys. So, right now we’re heading into the jungle into the smallerĀ
rivers, into the mangroves. So, this is where we’re going to be a lot closer to the riversideĀ
where we’ll see monkeys, birds, orangutans,Ā Ā crocodiles, you name it, it’s uh it’s in thisĀ
water. Okay. So now if you can see that we’re 15 km down this little river here into the SukumĀ
Yen River off the main river into the smaller river. So what what what palm did you say this is?Ā
The nippa palm. And what what is the fruit name? Uh Timbatu. Timbatu. And orangutangs eat it. AndĀ
human human. Okay cool. Wow. So the fruit guys uh hangs around the bottom of the palms and yeah theĀ
orangutangs eat this as well. [Music] So enjoy. Thank you so much. Wow. Bit of fruit. I I’ll feedĀ
you. Okay. Okay. Shall I sing a song for you? It’s okay. Okay. [Music] Okay, guys. So, it’s almost uhĀ
1:00 and we’ve got 2 hours to get to the feeding platform before the orangutangs come. So every dayĀ
at 3 p.m. the orangutangs they come to the feeding platform and uh yeah so the orangutans are stillĀ
wild animals but they feed them to sort of you know help them along their journey of survivingĀ
in the wild due to all of the uh deforestation and palm plants coming in for the palm oil. A lotĀ
of their natural habitat has been destroyed. So rather than keeping them in cages, they’ve leftĀ
them in the jungle. these feeding platforms every day. Give them a little bit of food to keep going.Ā
Are you excited to see the rangutangs? I am heapsĀ Ā excited. Never been this excited before. HaveĀ
you ever seen Rangutangs before? No, I’ve never seen it. Awesome. I think I’m going to cry cuzĀ
I’m really excited. You know that they share 98% of our DNA. Wow. Yeah. Yeah. I was wondering whyĀ
does it look like you? So that’s why Sophia thinks I look like a orangutang, guys. Okay, so we justĀ
saw our first gibbon. That was a gibbon, right? Proboscus. Proboscus. We just saw a proboscus. I’mĀ
getting confused with the names, guys. And uh this was the second family that we saw, but apparentlyĀ
there’s all of them all along here. So we just got to look in the treetops. And if the trees move,Ā
that means they’re jumping in between. So, we just got to find moving trades. Okay, so we’re justĀ
passing through Sukuna village now and this has a population of around 200 people. Okay, so we justĀ
arrived to camp 1 where feeding starts in about 1 hour and there’s the information center justĀ
here. So, we’re going to go check that out. Okay,Ā Ā so now we’re going to the information center. WeĀ
just got across on the boats here. Okay, awesome. So, we’re just in the little village informationĀ
center. They’ve got some local chickens here. And apparently there’s a orangutang just over here.Ā
Let’s go have a look. Okay, so we’re just walking through the jungle now to uh find the orangutang.Ā
All the other tourists are on the boat. Um well, most of them. So yeah, let’s see if we can findĀ
it. Wow, guys. So he’s just sitting here chilling, eating some sweet potato. That is so cool. I’veĀ
never been this close and personal with a ring thing before. This is absolutely amazing. YouĀ
can see how big they are. It’s just crazy. So, this is a young male. His name is Fo. And he’sĀ
just so chill as well. Like, he’s so used to humans. So, what he’s currently doing, guys, isĀ
he’s peeling off the outer skin with his teeth and then dropping it on the ground. From there, he’llĀ
eat all the juicy part of the sweet potato. It’s such a smart animal. Okay, bye. Okay, guys. So,Ā
this is the museum, and it shows all the different types of wildlife, unique wildlife that we’ll seeĀ
over the coming days. So, there are the different monkey. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 nine species. Wow. AndĀ
these are all the fruits that they eat, too. Where are we? Here. M yeah. Okay. Oh, they’re different.Ā
They’re big mouse. So guys, in the forest floor, they have clouded leopard. They also haveĀ
orangutang, monkey, possum looking thing, bat, and birds. So each segment of the forest. Okay guys,Ā
so that museum was super interesting. Here you can see the different scientists coming to the forestĀ
and doing their research about orangutans, aboutĀ Ā different species. They even have clouded leopardsĀ
here, which is just insane. Now this whole village was actually built uh for the feeding platform butĀ
for also to research and uh for scientists to come here and stay and uh do their research from here.Ā
So it’s super interesting as our guide was justĀ Ā saying that the different types of orangutangsĀ
it is possible for them to have babies but the babies may not you know come out the bestĀ
uh so it’s best not to breed them. So yeah uh when these type of orangutangs differentĀ
orangutangs are in conservation they usuallyĀ Ā don’t keep them together. So, what do you thinkĀ
of the research facility? It’s really cool cuz we would we know like what we are doing and what weĀ
have here and what can we expect. Yeah. Right. So, maybe we might even get to see a clouded leopard.Ā
Yeah. And that this is my first time uh seeing the egg of crocodile. Oh, there you go. Okay, cool.Ā
So, right now our guide is just sorting out the paperwork for us to enter into the uh to theĀ
national park and the ranger. We’ll find the ranger inside as well. And at 3:00, they do allĀ
of the feeding. So, I can’t wait to see how many orangutangs we’ll see. Uh, right now, our guideĀ
was just saying that it’s not fruit season. Uh, which is actually a good thing to be honestĀ
because we’ll get to see more orangutang. ButĀ Ā when it’s fruit season, there’s so much fruit thatĀ
most of the time the orangutans don’t even really come because they can’t be bothered. There’s justĀ
so much fruit where they live. So, just here,Ā Ā guys, is a whole heap of different signs. TheseĀ
are endemic herbs. That means they only grow here. Yeah. Yeah. Which are used for medicine. SoĀ
there’s all different types. And they’ve got all the samples and put it all into one spot. So weĀ
can see those and they’re used for all different types of medicine. [Music] [Applause] [Music]Ā
That’s orangutang, right? Yeah. Yeah. I think. Yeah. The big one. Roger. Roger. Roger. Okay.Ā
Roger’s making some noise. He’s ready. He’s the king. He’s the king. Roger is the alpha male.Ā
Yes. Okay, guys. So, we just spotted a baby. Two babies, actually. And their mom. This little oneĀ
here, guys, is just so cute. It’s just chilling up there in the tree, looking down at us. So curious.Ā
We are half an hour until the feeding. So, these guys are just waiting patiently for theirĀ
fruit and their bananas cuz there’s not much fruit this season. So, they’re here early. So, guys, nowĀ
we came around to this side of the tree. It hasĀ Ā a much better view of mom and the baby. Now, ourĀ
guide was just saying that the baby is only 1 year old. Uh, and you can tell by looking at it, it’sĀ
so cute and just learning the ways of the forest. So, guys, another interesting fact is the otherĀ
one is just 3 years old and it will stay with its mom until 7 years old. Uh so after this one wasĀ
born, the male from the group came to the female again and that’s why she has an upper baby. ButĀ
uh the males don’t really stick around. They areĀ Ā more just solitire. So it looks like we’ve spottedĀ
another one. So we’re just trying to find it. But we can see it moving up in the trees. Is that theĀ
big one? Roger. This is the main one. Roger. Wow. Roger’s very big. Okay, guys. The alpha male RogerĀ
is just chilling here. He’s the big boy. That was so scary. He stopped, looked back, and I thoughtĀ
he was going to come and charge at us. Here he goes again. Oh my gosh. This is crazy, guys. WhatĀ
do you think? Oh my gosh. This is such a cool experience. Wow. So, here’s Roger, the alpha male.Ā
And everyone’s around him right now. Wow. Big boy. [Music] So you can see here as well guys, we haveĀ
another baby and mom. The baby’s currently just having milk for mom. Okay, guys. So, asĀ
you can see, there’s another lover and the baby just waiting. And here’s the feeding platform.Ā
So, only 20 minutes now until it starts. So, all the orangutan tanks are arriving. AndĀ
the orangutangs are super smart because they don’t wear watches on their wrist, butĀ
they know what time of day is feeding. So, you can see this orangutang up here. UnlikeĀ
monkeys, they jump in between the trees, but orangutangs actually swing. So, they’ll grabĀ
another branch and pull it towards them to go to the next tree. So, as you can see, guys,Ā
up here, this is uh this is a orangutangĀ Ā nest and actually build a new nest every day,Ā
believe it or not. So, uh yeah, that’s super interesting to see one so close. Guys, I’veĀ
just got a dragonfly that landed on my fan. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] So, we just got some beautiful cold towels.Ā
Ice cold towers. Ice cold towers. Oh, it is uh it is warm on this boat and through theĀ
forest. It’s so humid. You can see all the boats, guys, all piled up. So, yeah,Ā
we’re going to head off soon.Ā Ā But the company’s been so kind to give us someĀ
cold drinks as well. Shotgun the Sprite. I have to say our boat’s pretty good compared to theĀ
others. Okay, so we’re now just pushing off. I love all the crew though. All the crewĀ
help each other. Make sure that the boatĀ Ā isn’t going to crash into another boat.Ā
So, we’ve just been given some lovely fried banana. Look at that. Wow. Yum. IĀ
love banana. Okay. How is it? So yummy. Not bad. So that was an amazing experienceĀ
at the feeding platforms. Now I have to say it was a little bit like touristy. There was aĀ
lot of people there. And it’s interesting cuz the orangutans are very used to the people. IĀ
think it’s like quite a good system, you know, because the humans can keep monitor of theĀ
orangutan tanks to make sure that they’re healthy,Ā Ā to make sure they’re okay. At the same time,Ā
it’s like should humans be interfering with the wildlife? It’s hard to say, but I think likeĀ
education about the orangutangs, about how they’re losing their habitat, about palm oil, these tripsĀ
are really good for that. And it’s, you know, really educating people about our environment,Ā
how to take care of it. So far, I think the wayĀ Ā that they’re doing it is really respectful to theĀ
orangutangs and quite interesting. So, right now, we’ve just stopped and just here we’ve got aĀ
rangutang and then up here is a monkey. Bit hard to see cuz they’re quite far away, but yeah,Ā
this jungle is just full full of life. So cool. So, they’re just anchoring for tonight. AndĀ
uh yeah, this is where they normally stay. So, they’re just saying that this spot is a reallyĀ
good spot because it’s quiet and not many boatsĀ Ā actually come here. Well, that’s a good way toĀ
uh get it out. So, he’s just anchoring the boat now. Strong. Not going anywhere. Okay. Okay.Ā
So, now that we’ve tied up for the evening, uh they’re even fishing off there. Yeah. Time toĀ
have a shower, maybe play some games, play some, you know, eat dinner, and have an early night.Ā
What do you think so far of the whole tour? It’s really good. It’s very rare also. And I like howĀ
we are outside of the city in the nature and you can literally hear birds and it’s just so quietĀ
and beautiful. Yeah. It’s amazing. I love it. Yeah. It’s so good. It’s incredible. Yeah. Okay,Ā
guys. I don’t know how well you can see us, but right now I’m getting a really nice massage fromĀ
Sophia. And it’s almost dark here now. The sun is just going down. Okay, so we’ve got our candleĀ
light dinner here. Watermelon, chicken, rice, some chili, sambol, uh noodles, and veg. ThisĀ
should be good. Excited. And good night, guys.
