Japan: Road Trip, Sacred Peaks, Hidden Paths

Join us on an extraordinary expedition to Japan. My wife and I returned to her family’s hometown in Mikkabicho Fukunaga, Hamana Ward, Hamamatsu. We started our journey with a tranquil visit to Izoko Shrine, located near the family home – a serene, secluded locale enveloped by nature and history. Subsequently, we ascended into the highlands above the fog to arrive at the Mikkabi Takayama Fureai Observatory. The vista justified every stride – nebulous summits, invigorating atmosphere, and the tranquility unique to rural Japan.

We dedicated the remainder of our vacation to visiting Hamamatsu, indulging in exquisite cuisine, and cherishing every minute together. From regional delicacies to hidden gems known just to residents, each morsel constituted a distinct experience. Participate in the picturesque landscapes, the sacred temples, the hidden pathways, and the exquisite cuisine — and discover the significance of this region of Japan to us.
