This volcano is literally STILL ACTIVE — and I got this close!
I am the worst travel vlogger on the internet and I’m in Oso Kuju National Park. What you’re seeing right now is an active volcano emitting volcanic gases. There was so much gas actually that we had to leave the premises. So, because we had to leave, we decided to hike up a mountain. Unfortunately, because of the mist, we could not see anything. It was still a nice hike, though. We hiked our way down out of the clouds into this beautiful crater. There was even some wild horses. To finish the day, we went to a restaurant that works with a set menu. Everything here was super delicious. Also, the people in rural Japan are really friendly. I love it here. Solar.
I visited Aso Kuju National Park in Japan, and stood right next to one of the most active volcanoes in the country. The power of nature here is unbelievable — poisonous gas, heat, and the eerie silence of something that could erupt at any moment. 🌋🇯🇵
📍 Location: Mount Aso, Kumamoto, Japan
