Osaka Street Food Tour – Japan’s Ultimate Food Paradise!

Our ramen has just arrived. So, a first taste by Tracy and see what it’s like. All right, guys. Look at my new friend. It took how many coins? Three Three attempts. And I’ve got a new travel buddy. So, you don’t get much for your for the value, but let’s see how it tastes. Oh, yeah. It just melts in your mouth. All right, guys. Welcome to Osaka, Japan. We’re currently in Don Bori area with a the old Geico, the Glyo man, the running man, the famous Glyo running man behind us. So, we’re just going to spend the the day just uh roaming the streets. Try some food. Try some yummy. Yeah. Yes. Try someh street food. We We might get some ramen later because that’s my favorite. So, I think it’s itchy ramen. I think it’s uh it’s like a it’s like a McDonald’s or ramen. I think I think it’s a fast food kind of chain restaurant with the ramen place in Japan. If I’m wrong, please put in the comment. I’ve had it before. It’s really nice. So, we’re going to go up and down the streets around the Ton Don Bori area. See what there’s to do. You can jump on the little boats that are coming past here. You can do little tours up and down the little canals around the Dontom Bori area. But it’s absolutely in about probably an hour this will light up and it’ll be absolutely amazing with all the the the lights from all the signs. There’s the where you get on the boats just over there. I’m not sure how much it is. I I’ll find out how much it is. I’ll put on the screen. I don’t think it’s too much. There’s Tracy up there. She’s giving us a wave. But yeah, but this whole area in about an hour will light up. So, we’ve come down here overnight so we can we can film this area overnight. So, let’s go and find out how much the the boats are. All right, guys. 15,000 yen. So about 15 Australian dollars to get onto the boats. There’s the famous running band sign, the Glyco man. So we’re going to go up and we’re going to try our first street food. It’s the the I it’s a 10 yen or a little it’s it’s like a pastry with custard inside of it. So we’re going to go and try that. Uh Tracy’s really hungry, so we’re going to go and munch into one of them. We’ll show you what it’s like. All right, guys. There’s a It’s actually a 10 yen. I thought it was either 100 or or 1 yen. So, Tracy, jump in line and grab one and we’ll we’ll hook into one. There’s a bit of always a line. We’ve been here before. There’s always line to to try this. It’s uh it’s like pastry. It’s like a waffle kind of material and then it’s got custard or some of sometimes they have chocolate inside them. So, this is where it is. Just the top of the Don Bori area. All right. So, you going to hook in? Yes. Yeah. They’re very nice. So nice. Some I think they’re warm inside, aren’t they? So, it’s actually nice cuz it’s a little bit colder tonight. So, let’s try our first street food in Osaka. All right, guys. We’re going to order from the vending machine. 500 for the cheese and 500 for the custard. Tracy’s going to order the one for the cheese, I think. All right. So, let’s uh let’s wait for it to be ordered. It pops out a little card from there, and then we get it from the lady behind the counter. All right, guys. We just got our little 10 yen. It is 10 yen. A little little uh pancake. Pancake material. All right. Let’s uh have a crack at it. Trey. Oo, look at that. It’s the end of the side. All right. What do you think? Oh, look at the mozzarella cheese coming out of it. It’s so yum. It’s nice. Is it more of a pancake material? Pancake and cheese. Okay. All right. Let me have a Let me Today. All right, let me have a taste. I’ll grab a a piece out of it. Let’s wrap it around. All right, let’s have a taste. Ooh, very nice. But definitely a pancake material. So, we’re going to move out the way from the shop. Oh, it is very nice. So, we’re going to eat this and then we’re going to continue up the street at Ton Ton Don Tombi and we’re going to try some different snacks as we walk along the streets. All righty. This is how you make the pork gos. Is that is that gazo? Go. How do you say it? Go. Oh, pork b. Okay. Yeah. All righty. So, this is how you make it. So, you got a little Yeah. Puts the fillings inside of it. Puts in there. Tracy’s ordering a ordering six for us. So, we’re going to try them soon. And that’s how they make them. They put them like in a little deep fryer oven kind. Oh, no. Just on top of the oven plate. Oh, she’s got some. Let’s go over there and uh we’ll try our little gaos. So, they’re like, what are they called? Uh dumplings. They’re like dumplings. Let’s stand over here and let’s uh hook into them. Just stand here. All right. Did you get Did you get any soy sauce? No. No chopsticks. No soy sauce. The last time I sent her out to get any food. All right. Let’s try them. I So, inside is um a pork mixture. I seen the the man make them pork mixture with the the outside of them. So, hook in. All nice and hot. They’re so nice. So, let’s let’s hook in. I’ll grab one. Can you take that one off? All right. All right. So, this is Oh, look at the steam coming from this one. Oh, so they they put them on a little hot plate, don’t they? So, a little hot plate and they fry the bottom of them and it’s like a steamy kind of thing on the top. So, let’s try it. M. So you can see the pork. It looks like it’s got cabbage and and other little stuff inside of them. Very nice. Look at the steam coming off. Very nice and hot. So this is our second dish. We’re going to keep on walking down and keep on trying dishes around the ton tonburi area. But these are excellent. Very nice. So we’ll keep on going. Fan. Great fan. These are Oh, actually how much are they? $6 for $6 for um $6 for six pieces. So that’s about six Australian dollars. About four four American dollars. So good for a snack. Very nice. All right, Tracer, how did you like the geos? I think that’s how you pronounce it. Very very my favorite so far. And I love how they’ve got pictures. See there? Pictures of everything you’re eating. So as you walk along, there’s pictures of all the food that you’re going to eat. And there’s like a big octopus up here. And there’s one of them. Ah, I forget what the name of the balls are with the octopus in right right there. So, there’s um Yeah, there’s the squid. So, they’re the the balls. Not a fan of them, so I won’t be trying one of them on tape unless Tracy wants to do it. But it’s Yeah, it’s got hot mayonnaise in it. I tried them last time I was in Japan. I wasn’t a fan. But yeah, look at the It’s starting to get darker now. So, look at the lights around here. Absolutely beautiful of a night. Beautiful. I just like all the the little things on the buildings that show you what it is. It’s and all the little side alleys and streets and stuff like that. That’s where I got the the octopus balls from last time. Forget the name of them. Uh I’ve got to find out the name, but yeah, that’s where you get them from there. All right, let’s continue off down. I I wouldn’t mind some getting some meat skewers. Let’s try some meat skewers, eh? All right, we’ll go down here further and try and find some nice skewers with a Kobe beef or wagu beef. All righty, we just got the behind us a pre- dessert in between our food hunt. So, we’re we’re hooking in this before we’ve eaten everything else covered in toffee. What is it? Toffee. Let’s go and stand over here, get away from everyone, and we’ll see what it tastes like. All righty. So, this was 500. No, no, the big ones. This was 200 yen. So, $2 because Yeah, I’m not right into this much sweet stuff. So, I got to hook into it and see what it tastes like. Oh god. Really juicy. You bite into the like the hard like what is it? the toffee stuff on the outside and then it just like really moist and juicy inside the thing. So, I’m going to eat this one. So much juice in my mouth. It’s really nice. So, Tracy’s going to try You want to try the grape? All right. Look at the toffee. The sugar on top of that. Just put the whole thing in your mouth. Put the whole thing in your mouth. Is it nice and juicy? That one. That’s where we got it from. Amazed the places have got them around here. So, we’re going to eat this. I I was looking for a Wagu or Kobe beef. We’re actually going to Kobe tomorrow. So, I’ll save the Kobe tomorrow, but we’ll go and try some Wagu beef along the the little fronts here. I think it’s about $10 for a skewer. So, let’s go and try that. Oh, look at the the amazing strawberries. Look at this. Look at the quality of the strawberries. Look how big they are. So, they’re expensive. They’re that’s $25. Look at the size of them strawberries. They’re the size of a They’re the size of a small apple. And the grapes. And the grapes. Look at this. Look at the size of the apples. That’s $4. They’re probably the best strawberries I’ve ever seen in my life. All righty. I’ll go to go down and let’s get some KB beef or wagu beef. All righty. There’s our wagu skewer. Oh, you got to pay tray. All righty. Nice little That little sauce there. What’s that sauce that he puts it in? What’s that? Uh, it’s secret sauce made of some fruits and soy sauce. Oh, soy sauce. Yeah. Very nice. So, my master ship user peach, apple, and something different. Oh, okay. You’ll pay. Oh, yeah. I got to pay. This was $10 a,000 yen. So, 10 for the Wagu little skewer. So, you don’t get much for your for the value, but let’s see how it tastes. Oh, yeah. It just melts in your mouth. I’m looking forward to tomorrow. We’re going over to Kobe. So, I want to try the Kobe beef, which is supposed to be even better than the Wu beef. So, do you want to try Tracy trying that little piece? Yeah. It’s nice how they they’ve cooked it in like a little secret kind of sauce. It’s got soy sauce and other mixtures that that the gentleman was um saying on video what it was in there. So, all right. I’m going to Scott this down and then we’ll find something else to eat. All right, guys. We’re going to go and eat in the Ichan Rama place right behind us. So, let’s uh let’s go in there and have a nice bowl of ramen. All right, let’s go. Here it is here. Excuse me. All right, we’re going to line up. Let’s go and find some nice food. All right, guys. As normal in Japan, we’re in the Ichi Ran restaurant and we’ve just ordered the two classic ramens, extra sliced pork, eggs, and then we pay. So, you want to hold that. Okay. All right. Let’s throw some cash in there. What’s that? 10,000. How much do we need? Let’s throw the 5,000 in there. All righty. Let’s see how it goes. Does it work? All right. Pay. Got to press the pay button. And we get all these tickets come out. There’s going to be a whole heap of tickets. And there’s our change. There it is. There. So, you get one ticket for each item that you’ve ordered. And then when you get there, you show the people in the little Oh, actually not eating in a booth cuz it was about half an hour, 40 minute wait. So we’re just going to go in the table. So we’ve paid. We’ve got our little vouchers tray. Now we’re just going to sit at the tables and eat them instead of all the booths cuz that was going to take too long. So we’ll show you the food when it arrives. All right, guys. So, you got to fill in a little circle your preference and it tells you how mold and yeah, different variations of the richness and how much garlic and so on and so on. Now, we got to go and deliver this to the kitchen and we’ll have it delivered out very shortly and we’ll show you what it’s like. All right, guys. We’ve just arrived. Our ramen has just arrived. So, the first taste by Tracy and see what it’s like. It’s nice, isn’t it? Right, let let me I love this ramen. So, let’s let’s get in there and have a taste. Can we have um chopsticks? Frame the chopsticks over. Yeah. Give me the chopsticks. All right. So, let’s get these chopsticks in action here. And let’s let’s get a bit of the pork. All right. So, there pieces of pork in here. Look at this. Oh. Oh, it just melts. That just there’s like butter. It melts in your mouth. The broth is really nice. I can taste it just on the pork there and the noodles. And you got the shallots in there. So, that’s really nice. And there’s a bit of um spice on the top. But yeah, so we’re going to hook into this and then we’ll go for a walk and see what else is to do around the Ton Don Buri area. So we’re going to hook into this and we’ll see you down the road. All right, guys. We just had ramen ramen. That was You know, you know what? It was $31 for the extra pork and the extra eggs. But I tell you what, the food is absolutely amazing in um Japan. It doesn’t matter if you eat from a 7-Eleven to anywhere. Anywhere. They just take great pride and care in all the food. So, what we’re going to do now is go and try and win a stuffed toy for Tracy. All right. So, we’re going to have a bit of fun in the little arcade behind and we’ll try and go in the vending machines here. Let’s go and have a look and try and try and win ourselves a teddy bear. So, let’s uh let’s go through. They’re massive. probably every there’s probably oh hund of these shops around a saka and you’ll win all the teddy bears. There’s Winnie the Pooh. All right, you’ll see us. You’ll see us again on camera if we win something. So, we’ll show you then. All right, so let’s go and try and win something. All right, let’s see if I can get this. You want it. It’s mine. It’s my bet. All right. So, that three coins. How many coins? Two. four, six, seven. It cost me three coins. So, I was watching another man play it. You watch them. The tip is you watch a few people play it. It gets stronger and stronger. And then it took me three goes and I got it. All right. So, that’s Gary Bear now. Gary Bear. I don’t know how we’re going to get it on the planes that we go to. All right. Let’s go. All right. T’s happy. She won a teddy bear. And I bought I won a story, but we gave it away. There was a girl trying for ages and she must have spent about $10 or $15 on it and I went up there and got on the third coin. She walked away and I ran over and gave it to her. So her boyfriend couldn’t get it for us. So I had to get it for her. So And we can’t take it home. No, we can’t take it cuz we’ve got so much in our baggage as it is. So we’re going to probably walk down to the glyco man, have a look around the town there, and yeah, see what else we can get up to. But yeah, it’s a great day in Osaka. We will take Gary Bear.
