Just Two Women In Japan – VLOG 1

Hello and welcome to my Japan vlog. I know some of you might be thinking right now, what the hell is that pretty looking house there? That’s not where you live, Rose. But in fact, it is. But a lot of things happened in the 2 years time since this travel. And I will share more in the end for those who are curious. For now, we need to focus on the Japan vlog. My friend Stina, who joined me, has been very patient. And it’s time this gets out. Okay, I know a lot of us struggle with attention span these days. And therefore, I have divided this trip into three vlogs, one week each, and this is the first one where we’re going to be in Tokyo for a week. First of all, we had to survive flying to the other side of Earth. We went in spring, so there’s going to be a lot of cherry blossoms. So many different shops and snacks, a temple trip, and a running sushi. Team lapse was on the list as well of things to try through the trip. We also have Pina who gets a cold which means I get to try a bit of solo traveling having fluffy pancakes and then we’re also going to share our J pass experience for this vlog. There’s going to be so much more but this is the topics for the first vlog. Enjoy. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. I’m going to Japan tomorrow. We are going to Japan tomorrow. And I really thought I would be like, chill, have finished things off, just being ready to go. But no, I am so stressed. I have so much to do before tomorrow. I’m so excited and so scared at the same time because I can have so high expectations to myself telling myself all these things I need to do to be approved and all of that. I really want to just exist and enjoy this journey. Um, let’s see. if I can actually manage to do that. But first of all, I need to get ready and make sure I have everything and also eat breakfast and also finish work today. And yeah, wish me luck and I will see you all in the airport tomorrow. [Music] Okay, so we are now actually in Amsterdam because so many things are happening and I just forgot to vlog. We’re now going to a a plane which is going to Seoul and then Tokyo. Uh the only thing is we are not going to be seated together which is really annoying. So we hope maybe some will change seat with us. Okay, I think a miracle happened because this seat was empty and no person has showed up showed up yet. I don’t know what happened but we’re sitting together and that’s what’s most important. So go us. This must be a sign it’s going to be a good trip cuz we’re moving now. Okay, we did it. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Flight number three, but also last Friday going to Tokyo. And uh we managed to find a place to sit by each other again. So that’s nice. Plus a window. I just want to sleep. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] Oh, [Music] do we have a window or what is hiding behind this? We do have a window. We did Oh my god, I just put my We could actually choose where which which bedroom we wanted. Um, and we chose ninth floor and hope for some kind of view. And I guess it’s okay. [Music] She [Music] [Music] This is home. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] Heat up here. [Music] [Laughter] Okay, day full day number one in Japan, Tokyo. Does it taste good? Okay. So, the system I have just right in this moment decided we’re going to do is rating it and then we tell a bit about the day uh with as few words as possible just to not make it not too long. My rating of today is eight and I’ll give it a seven out of 10. Okay. First thing was Pak lots of cherry blossoms. Very very beautiful. Also just way more to see than what I expected. So many people picnicking which was very very like nice despite the amount of space too. Quite difficult to find a space to sit and eat. True. The next uh stop was um Sunshine City Mall. Um which apparently there was a cosplay event. So there were a lot of people. I don’t know if there’s normally so many people but there were a lot of people today and like the lines for eating was chaotic which um made it chic for us because when we started to get hungry we ended up being hungry and it was just really desperate in the end to find something to eat. Yeah. When you go to stores a lot of people don’t speak English and like I don’t blame them. Not at all. They’re just talking and like hoping they’re not saying anything important and other people are saying something and clearly want you you they need you to say something and then you’re like but I didn’t understand what you’re saying so I cannot reply. So that was a bit awkward once in a while but it didn’t stop me from buying a lot of stuff. How will I carry all of this new clothes home? That’s that’s a problem for for future me. Speaking of clothes, I also just bought this lovely dress. Love it very much. But I just sat down and this fell off. So, it’s not bad. It’s just a button I need to sew on again. The prices are pretty good. Like I I would say it’s cheap for good quality. Um who says this fell off? We have a lot of snacks. Um, so as you can see, snacks. Okay, they keep coming. I have more here. Welcome to Stina Snack Show review Japan edition. So, we actually just bought this. We’re not sure what it is, but we thought we wanted to try it on the camera together. Uh, we have milk taste and strawberry taste. You m caramel. It’s a combination of a marshmallow and a caramel. It’s new, but it’s pretty good. Maybe we should. Yeah, we we we will exchange one. M. This tastes a lot like the strawberry milk we had in the mall. This tastes like air. Should we try this, too? Sure. Spoon. Sakura milk pudding. Okay. Gorgeous. Oh, yeah. Ooh, it’s soft. It’s very soft. It’s sakura, which means it’s cherry blossom, but it’s also milk pudding. So, what does cherry blossom mean other than it’s pink? Brain, please decide. Do we like it or not? Cuz until then, we keep eating. Oh, I I I enjoy it. Would I buy it again? No. No, I don’t think so either. That’s mostly because of the pudding and not because of the cherry blossom taste, which I’m still not sure how to define or detect. Anyway, see you tomorrow. [Music] [Music] I didn’t know how old [Music] [Music] [Music] like [Music] that. [Music] again. I’m the one eating. Well, I have mine, too. I have mine, too. Okay. Cheers. Cheers. It’s day number two. Excuse me. Okay. Rating. Without thinking too much, my thought is six. M but I think it’s hard because like the beginning of the day is 100% and 10 and then the day afterwards became like four and then back to a 10. Definitely. Yeah. So this one is a difficult one. I would say maybe a 5.5 to a six out of 10 because it started out great then it nose dived and then it went right back up. Yeah. So what happened? We went first of all to Mi Temple which is this very beautiful temple in nature. Um and I got to do a lot of wishes which I hope will now come true and it was just very peaceful and yeah really really really nice. And then we uh decided to go to Yuyoki Park, which was apparently the central park for people to go to. So there were a lot of people. You can even see in the footage how you can just go from like a very peaceful place to suddenly bam, a lot of people, a lot of people. So uh we quickly decided to try something else. So we went to Hakashita Street, which was even more crazy with it. It makes sense. We just looked at it and thought not happening. So, we kept walking and then we checked out uh the mega dong shop, which is a lot of basically cheap crap. Yeah, it’s like this giant building of like seven floors of just a bunch of like randomly organized stuff. Very cheap. And I I’m sure it’s good if you’re like local and you can buy stuff you normally use, but for us, I mean, for me at least, I was like a lot of I I didn’t want most of the stuff. But if you’ve ever been to Denmark or you just know the store, it’s it’s a little bit like a flying tiger on crack. Should we do more taste tests today? Because I got snacks again. I didn’t get like snack strawberry. I actually got strawberry magnets. Also, show them. Show them your little That’s the one I want to show. Oh my god. Where is these? I’m going to remove all the food I bought. So, we had to wait in a line for very, very long. And that’s definitely also the reason why it ended up being very low taking the dive. Yes. But I did get this. You’re too beautiful. It’s just this little turtle. And I just think it’s so He’s adorable. It’s so cute. So we should name him Steve. Oh, you’re not focused. So this uh now my lucky charm, Steve. I baptized him and and seriously seriously this was the one for me that made me stay in that line for so long even though we were suffering because I just apparently needed Steve in my life. We then went to um by I think it’s ube ube. I don’t know. If you search like um bullet train running sushi, I think it will appear which has a long had a long line because it is a popular place. Um, I wouldn’t say like the quality was like really good, but it wasn’t really bad either. But I was feeling good. I was sitting down. I was getting food. I was getting dessert. I was so happy afterwards. Also, point I was sitting down. I was getting food. It was not cold and I didn’t have to talk to anyone. So, if you have social anxiety, like what? Not talking to anyone is great. All you had was an iPad. Loved it. And that was day number two. Um, and now we’re just going to relax because we are going to team labs tomorrow. So, got to be fresh for that. Oh, and we also decided to to wear the pajamas you can get. Um, like use for free while you staying. Uh, but it’s also like a one sizefits all, which by the way is a concept that Japan uses a lot. all clothes. Also, when you’re shopping, most of it is like one size per. And the funny thing is they call it free. Yeah. Free size. Yeah. Free size. So, it’s not much free size about it to be honest. Yeah. But we tried we thought something also very long. Yeah. We like we like children trying out their parents clothes. You want to taste that? Yes. Okay. We’re going to taste some snacks. This is my segment of the video. Welcome to Stina Snack Show review edition. Beautiful. Very special. I love it. Ooh. Ooh. Smells really good. Okay. Don’t eat it yet. Don’t eat it yet. It’s a little hard. Also, it smells like that Haribo peach candy. Oh. From at home. Yeah. But I love that candy. So it’s great. I wouldn’t mind. I mean, okay. Well, there’s some liquid stuff inside. See you tomorrow. [Music] Anyway, [Music] Heat. Heat. N. [Music] Heat. Heat. N. [Music] Good Morning. So yesterday I didn’t do a review because sadly Stina has got a fever. Um so I guess if we should wreck the day sadly it will be something like a two and that because we can control if we get sick. You know, it’s just ratings of how the situation ends up turning. Like we did manage to see team Lap’s planet with which was so great. Really nice, but sadly St wasn’t able to enjoy it fully because of her sickness. She still seems pretty affected today. So I think now I will just go down and buy some water, take care of her and then we will see what will happen otherwise today. And so it was time for my first full solo day in Japan. Starting out with a simple sandwich where I found this one piece of onion. It was very weird and random. I have shared a lot, but I don’t think I’ve shared I actually have a food trauma from when I was a child. So, I’m still learning to be able to eat a lot of different stuff. My first stop was going back to Takashita Street where there luckily was a lot less people. This street has so much different type of clothes in different styles and I love it. Always remember to take off your shoes in fitting rooms and they sometimes do have these instructions of the thing you can take over your head. I’m still not sure if it’s to protect from makeup or my hair. I tried to use it. Another thing is if it’s not like one fits all, it’s maximum large. And I normally can definitely fit a large, but this one was too tight. So, I’m not sure how normal people in Japan can find cute pants uh except being smaller than I am. If you love to see dessert videos, you have probably stumbled upon these fluffy pancakes. And Japan is especially known for the fluffy pancakes. So, I did make a reservation at this popular place. I have sadly forgot what the name is called. Maybe you can see it somewhere on the menu. I don’t know. But I always order it with banana and chocolate. It’s just my favorite combination. And it was so good. I’m so happy I went even though I was alone. And the pancakes fluffiness was indeed fluffing. On my way back, I decided to do just a little bit more shopping because the cold is so nice. Uh, but it was also getting a bit of struggle knowing how I would pack all of this. Luckily, Stina was still alive and I really wanted to bring just a little bit more of Japan to her. So, I found this cute strawberry shop and I bought a strawberry soda and a strawberry smoothie and they were so nice. I really hope I can remake them somehow actually now that I see them again. But anyway, while Stina was still trying to defeat her fever and stuff, I decided to go down and enjoy the last night here in Tokyo with the cherry blossom. And I even did take one of the leaves and saved it in my phone and it brought me so much joy even when I was back home. I also really enjoyed these maroones and definitely recommend. In the evening, I just decided to watch some TV together with Stina. Even though I tried to learn Japanese, I had no idea what they were saying. And just like that, my first full solo day was over. Writing for yesterday. I think you should start. Mine is five out of 10. I will accept that review. And then I think mine would be I think a seven. I did went out on my own and did some great stuff. Um, but of course there was a lot I didn’t want to do uh while you were sick. And now it’s time for the final full day in Tokyo. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] As it was our last day in Tokyo, it also meant it was time to activate our GR pass. Even though we were there for 3 weeks, we only activated and had it for 2 weeks when it was time to go longer distance, which I think is the most clever choice when it comes to economy and saving money. Then I just had to make sure Stina was hydrated before I went out on my own because she was definitely still feeling the sickness. As a scrapbook girl, I of course had to check out Ittoya, which is seven floors of office things and supplies, including pens, but also these were so cool. I was so close to buying it, but I was also afraid of breaking it. So, I stick to buying smells and these stamps. I bought like a lot of stamps which you will see in just a bit. Um, but no regrets. Then it was time to move on and just enjoy the evening mood and uh get back home to Stina. I did have to prepare something for breakfast. I decided to go with donuts because why not? And then yeah, it was just time to chill for a bit, make sure I was also staying hydrated and Stina was still alive. Thank God. And I stick with some burgering to make it simple. Good. And then it was time to finally face my consequences of being obsessed with the clothes you can buy in Japan and ignoring the space I have in my pack. Hold. Okay, I’m now done packing. And as you can see, it just barely fits. It’s a thick boy. It’s a thick boy for sure. So, no more shopping for me unless I want to find out how to ship it home to me, I guess. Anyway, it’s time for an update. You feel randomly crack. I feel random crack quack quack quack quack quack. Oh, I look disgusting. Okay, rating. I’ll give it one out of 10. My back hurt. My knees hurt. I felt like an old lady. I had to sit down every like 30 seconds. I went out, so that’s nice. Got some fresh air. Got that fresh fresh fresh oxygen I guess. But other than that, like that was it. Definitely better than minus 5. Definitely we are we are doing better. Climbing slowly hopefully. Mhm. I think I will again today give it a I don’t know. I was going to say seven, but I actually think it’s going to be a five just because today was also a lot of preparation for tomorrow when we have to go to Kavakucho, which is going to be super exciting. We just activated our JR pass as you saw, but JR pass doesn’t cover the whole trip and I’m not sure how to get a ticket for the last uh few uh area whatever stations. So, that’s going to be exciting. But uh you will um see together with us tomorrow how that goes. And you will either see the solution or the panic. Now we need some sleep and make sure everything is ready because we have to wake up early. Maybe I will end the vlog here and you will see it in part two. But anyway, I will record it as always. Welcome back. I have something important to show you. He is to this day still my lucky charm. He hangs on my door to protect me from bad karma and stuff like that. So I can know my bedroom is always safe because I actually don’t own this house now. I’m not rich at all. Okay, I’m renting a room in this house. It’s a bit of a interesting situation. But first of all, I think my followers can maybe at this point guess that I am no longer together with my boyfriend. He is now my ex-boyfriend. To keep it short, we just grew apart. We had different interests for life. The person I live with now is called Dwayne and he has this lovely child, Charlie, which is 3 years old. And I’m honestly having so much fun. I know not everybody likes children, but I I think they’re fun and I think they are two wonderful roommates to have. Even though I really enjoy their company, they also had to sell this house and it meant I had to find a new home. So, I’m actually moving again. when I will be moving and with whom. I’m going to share in my next Japan vlog where we are going from the city into nature. It’s going to be exciting as always and uh you can click it right here or come back whenever you are ready. 1. Wonderful video! Love the editing and Stina's snack show. You can ask me next time you need a deep announcer-like voice, I got you!

Also, the small animations and drawings throughout the video are lovely.
