Football club Voždovac signed a three-year contract with Japanese player Arihiro Sentoku today.
Sentoku played the previous five years in Montenegro for Kom and Podgorica.
“Football in Japan is totally different, so I wanted to try myself in Europe and that’s how I came to Montenegro. My transfer to Voždovac is a big step forward, the league is better and I want to use it as a springboard. I’m an offensive player, I want to score as many assists and goals as possible, so that we can qualify for European competitions this season,” said the 23-year-old Sentoku.
He added that he studied the language, read newspapers and books, in order to communicate better with his teammates.
“Every day I talked with my teammates, if I don’t understand something, I immediately ask them to translate for me, and now I can communicate step by step without any problems. In Podgorica, I played with Milo (Miloš Milović), so it will be easier for me to fit in.” , Sentoku stated.
The director of Voždovac, Miloš Mirković, expressed his satisfaction with the arrival of the new player.
“Even though he comes from another continent, I have no doubt that Sentoku will fit in easily given his years in Podgorica and his knowledge of the language. In addition to his footballing qualities, this also played a big role in the decision to offer him a contract. I am glad that he is among first arrived at the club and that he will have the opportunity to prove himself to the new coaching staff during the entire preparatory period and to show his qualities in the friendly matches that follow,” Mirković said.
