Solo Camping & Motorcycle Adventure in Aga, Niigata JAPAN
Hello everyone! I’ve started my trip to Fukushima this summer. I started from Iwamuro, Niigata Prefecture, and tonight I’ll be staying at Kirinzan Park in Aga Town, Niigata Prefecture! From Iwamuro, I came straight on Prefectural Route 55, and now I am heading straight east on Route 460 to Gosen. Riders, please slow down even when going straight. Some cars don’t see or pay attention to motorbikes. Be careful! From Route 460, take Prefectural Route 41 towards Gosen. Kosudo Bashi Bridge. Passing, the Shinano River. It is the longest and widest river in Japan and the third largest by basin area. Rest at Seven Eleven. I was recommended the ice cream Ohayo Brulee, which I bought, and it’s the best ice cream I’ve ever had at 7-Eleven. Go straight on Route 41 towards Route 403. The sun was so strong that wearing short sleeves was a real mistake. I needed long sleeves. Japanese roads are often surprisingly difficult to understand, with signs not numbered, etc. I often get lost, especially when I’m going there for the first time and I don’t have a navigation system. Take Route 320 north then Route 41 east. Turn right onto Prefectural Route 41. Head towards Gosen. ‘Satoyama Visitor Center’ Thank you to the post office driver. ‘Horide Shrine’ Enshrined deities: Izanagi and Izanami. At the beginning of the world, Izanagi and Izanami were born together and became husband and wife. The Kojiki tells us that they created the land of Japan and also gave birth to many gods, including Amaterasu Omikami. These two great deities are the root deities of the eight million gods of Japan. This deity, who is praised for his great virtue, has been enshrined here since the days of Kamakura as Horide Okami, and protects us. I recommend visiting Horiide Shrine, located in the mountains, during the autumn foliage season. I’m heading for the nearby ’Shiratama Falls.’ ‘Shiratama Falls’ This is a spot where you can see the waterfall you are looking for within a few minutes’ walk. It’s a really relaxing place during the hot summer season. It’s a day full of detours lol Japan’s mountain areas are prone to sudden heavy rain, so rain protection is essential when traveling by motorcycle. After passing through the mountain road of Route 41, you will enter Gosen city. I have entered Gosen city! Continue straight on Route 41. The temperature today is over 30 degrees. Go straight across Yasuda Bridge and cross the Agano River. Today, I’m staying overnight (for free) at Kirinzan Park, so I head east on Route 49 along the Agano River. I came all the way here with a full tank of gas in my Super Cub, and the tank is still only half full. It’s the best. I entered Aga, about a three hour drive from Iwamuro with super cub. Roadside station, Aganosato. The roadside station, Aganosato, is usually open from 9am to 5pm, so if you don’t come early it will be closed. The roadside station also has Wi-Fi, and the toilets and restrooms can be used even outside opening hours. I make sure to give myself and my partner plenty of rest. I am soon arriving at my destination for the day: Tsugaru Onsen and Kirinzan Park. There are lots of tunnels. Cross the bridge to Tsugaru Onsen town. Heading ‘Kiyokawa Kogen Recreation Center’ I have too much luggage and can’t move up the hill. Kiyokawa kogen Recreation Center The Kiyokawa Kogen Recreation Center has wifi and a place to rest. I was able to charge my phone there. Thank you. The fee to enter the hot spring is 500 yen for adults. ‘Kirinzan Park’ It was a weekday before summer vacation and I was the only one there, so we had the place to ourselves. No reservations are required for the campsite. There is a kitchen (grill only), water, and a toilet (rest room). I recommend coming early because you don’t need to make a reservation. But it’s free and I appreciate this feature. The place is spacious and there is a parking lot. Restroom It was a pleasant night last night, and now I’m heading to Aizuwakamatsu! See you in another video!
