Hokkaido Winter Adventure Vlog: Day 4 | Otaru Canal, Butter Corn Ramen Queue, and more
[Music] [Music] good morning can you open the window and show me again good morning day four so I’m outside the window yeah be cool all right guys so right now at the hotel lobby cafeteria just waiting for Bo to get ready because she had to go back up to the room in order to guess what change her attire again cuz she doesn’t want to wear the same thing like extra day so she changed and changed again just like what a fashionista would do omg so right now we are actually heading out we are going to Otaro Canal so Taro canal is where is a very popular place for tourists where you can see that long canal that stretches across to the valleys as well and we are going over there through train this time not through to a bus so we just left the hotel right behind us is the hotel entrance and guess what it’s snowing like crazy again lots and lots of snow yeah so the next couple of days I the weather forecast seems to be saying that it’s going to be snowing like this so that’s the reason why today I’m covering up more a lot more than yesterday uh yesterday when we actually went to the Furano region yeah it was exactly like this as well snowing like crazy and then it’s really cold so right now we are actually walking to the train station uh train station fortunately is not far away probably about 8 minutes 6 minutes walk if we walk faster and uh we are going to take the subway to subro station and then from subro station we’re going to take the rapid airport line not to the airport but to the next stations step that’s from the airport which is to how you feeling wow good lucky I got two three layer baby yes three layer got wisdom to wear more this time more layer so right now we are at the train station and we waiting for the train so from this subway we have to go to Sapo station and take the J line to the uh Rapid airport line in order to go to Otaru so here’s the train coming if you never see Japanese train this is how it looks like i mean at least this is a subway so we are heading in looks pretty crowded uh fairly crowded but not crowded in Japanese standard so you know that you are in Japan if you can see this kind of crowd in the train stations like this so this is actually the underground and we are heading to the JR station Jr sapuro station uh and usually uh this is the car you see quite common everywhere in Japan even in Tokyo right you like people people here m Yeah so we are heading to the J sapro station taking the line rapids airport line to Otaru so right now we are in the train heading towards uh Otaru so this train is the rapid airport line train uh very very very crowded very very crowded find it’s going to be a 45 minutes uh ride towards there I think so you’re going to be standing let’s see now look at the view look at the view outside nice right snow cover buildings look at the view outside the train right now wow by the sea the train nice huh nice very nice right so right now we just dropped at Otaru okay heading out towards the outside the platform and the canal is actually quite nearby here so it’s probably about 10 minutes walk from here in order to actually head to the canal so it’ll be very convenient so right now we are heading to the canal so it’s just a oneway road downwards this very big road here that goes lead to the canal it’s a bit of a downs slope because the uh canal is actually like in a valley area like a like a concave area so that’s where we’re heading i’m so lucky that I brought extra jacket today even though it’s not snowing now but it’s actually feels very cold today weather temp is actually about -4° i don’t know how is it what’s actual temp right now but it does feel very cold right now so we are heading there hopefully we can find a place to eat because we are very we are quite hungry already and just now we’ve been standing a lot just now very hungry yeah so let’s go we are going to one of our friends recommendation which is called Naruto chicken or Naruto main shop so he said the chicken very nice so right now we are heading there it’s very near to the canal so it’s uh before the canal in one of the intersection so right now we are heading over there we just reached the shop apparently this is the shop that sells the fried chicken which is very good according to my friend so I’m not sure whether need to queue just going to give it a shot right now okay so right now we are waiting queue number 76 uh right now 69 think the queue will move quite fast let’s see so this is the view of the outside waiting room and then behind there is where we can eat i think there’s also second level but I’m not so sure just realize many of the shops are make you queue outside at the snow or outside in the weather in the elements but they have a waiting area and we are inside the waiting area which is looks like this right it’s quite a nice decent space and then they also advertise there of course there are different chains as well can see so not bad right very thoughtful you know they have waiting area like this so that you don’t need to be standing out in the elements queuing up like pretty long you or if the if the place is actually very busy uh right now the place is quite busy so we can still see people waiting here because the waiting room is full so right now we just got our table i just ordered as well we’re going to eat a few things uh you’ll see the menu item that got served later but we also order beer i ordered the same beer the the one from Sapuro called Kik wow the first one that we drank last time i like the light so this is the view from outside it’s snowing right now by the way yeah and this is second floor i was right there’s a second floor here that’s why they can actually serve many customers at one go so pretty good i don’t know how long the service going to take you know to serve the food but I don’t think it’ll be slow as well i think I found my next favorite beer aside from Zahi as this one my favorite classic Sapoor beer only in Sapoto very nice i like the malty taste and the best thing after drink you don’t feel like it’s pretty good chicken k is here but we going to wait for rest of the food coming so this is what we got chicken kasudon chicken karag fried chicken thingy with sushi and a side of miso soup everything like that [Music] all right so we just finished eating at this Naruto chicken back there what do you think of the food wow the chicken i like the chicken chicken fried right fried chicken the skin very crispy very nice i can can tell the smell very good yeah yeah the whole the half half fried chicken is very good chicken car is good as well uh generally the the food is more to the saltier side but just drink a lot of water or beer can already yeah but the crispiness is there man the crispiness yeah but if you were to ask me generally speaking is that my most favorite chicken right now no uh my most favorite chicken is still KFC kfc Thailand kfc Thailand forever so right now we are just walking digesting going to the Kenya right now so I think we ate first and then now hitting the canal is is a wiser choice because the canal is a long stretch and it’s quite a quite a walk as well uh back and forth uh so where we going not sure yet but maybe I was thinking I want to go to the glass museum uh the one where we show the those uh mural glass that’s been painted or tainted uh glasses like that uh maybe we’ll go there maybe we not I’m not sure yet well I just head to the canal first and then see what we will do next notice this very steep slope over here that’s the place towards the train station actually ah looks very [Music] slopy look at this pretty see the price 5,000 yen omg [Music] pang well these are handmade I guess suppose just a plate alone 2,970 and this one nice though don’t know what it is it’s 3,850 looks like a nice place to eat but we are full we are full full look at boo you know she’s taking let me show you she’s taking a icicle icicle more icicle it’s so long so thick so we reached the canal the canal is over here this stretch over here is a canal all the way there so right now we’re going to head to this place called Lea is a famous Hokkaido specialty for cheesecake and dessert so we’re going there now because Mrs b want to try have you guys tried it before not bad the cheesecake and look at this cute duck look at the hat in Tokyo i don’t know what is it but he’s wearing the winter oh winter clothing because cold oh I think it’s supposed to be a fireman dog i guess to commemorate a dog probably a heroic dog cuz part of the fireman team oh [ __ ] here fireman so this is the LA menu uh too bad this one this one the cheese is sold out so we probably will get the ice cream with the cheesecake and the chocolate bits okay okay so right now we just got our little Yeah I can fight and fit out already and we find a seat luckily cuz it was full house earlier in fact it’s just full house and this is what we got show them the camera this is the the towel strawberry ice cream strawberry prof nice huh nice the best of both was cake and ice cream together was good huh yeah no need to order more and then after that we also got one cocoa hot cocoa not for me but for Jibo because Jibo like to heat drink hot chocolate she miss drinking hot chocolate in the cold weather [Music] come nearer hey closer you can blur i do m let’s try it m the cake very nice the cheesecake this one the cheesecake look like [Music] she can see the Yeah wow they even got this a biscuit thingy [Music] they have to put the ice cream ice cream yeah put together with like this you want to try uh try uh a lot of people lucky we can fly and sleep mhm wow i like the cake the cake very nice you see [Music] this nice cheese also also cheese see this is how they push the pay money for this and there he goes look at the view very nice right this is the canal there you’ll see the canal shortly and the other side [Music] nice view nice right nice this is the opar canal nice right [Music] [Music] [Music] the temperature at Otaru -2.9° C so what do you think of this place Mrs bur you like the view yeah very nice like the pictures you take nice m nice very beautiful good good good so right now we just uh took all the videos of the photos that we can take that’s what you saw so now we are going to head over there those are those are the shops selling food and also gift shops as well so we’re going to go take a look let’s go so this place is called Oto Otaru Danuki Koji yeah so it’s a tourist spot actually selling all sorts of food and I’ll show you guys how it looks like [Music] now this is how the area look like there’s a few shops that still open but we’re just going to explore are you hungry not yet me too but still can eat this shop looks good but I’m a bit too hung too full i don’t know whether we can eat let’s see hokkaido melon ice cream okay now we trying out this place which sells Hokkaido melon ice cream they uses this uh uh what you call this uh merry go round door yeah so it’s pretty old school that’s strong oh yeah this is the same machine yesterday yeah wow so we got the Hokkaido melon ice cream and then we bowl got the hot red wine i got a hot whiskey looks good huh [Music] look at this big bowl of ramen cannot eat one you know but we’re going to eat in this shop right now no no good enough i see but it’s a massive long queue this is what we’re going to try going to try the first one on the left too bad no kids are here how long do we wait how long maybe two time two hours wait yeah for this ramen to be good man last qu so we ordered two buttercorn ramen and we are the we are the last five people according to the chef he came out and tell everyone to Okay i cut here the rest can go because I sold out so we the last five people one of the last five people so we the last two out of five so we ordered buttercorn ramen and then we order I order crab mori i think it’s a crab cake thing yeah let’s try see what nice yeah so one one crab mori is 500 okay and the buttercorn ramen is actually uh uh 1,300 per so let’s try so we got crap mori 500 yen see got gold flakes on it that’s where the 300 yen went to no just kidding look at that good looks good hopefully it’s worth the wait so now we’re going to enjoy the meal okay watch this [Music] all right so we just eaten finished the ramen i think it’s about 8:00 plus right now and uh now we are on the way back to the Sappuro station it’s going to be about 1 hour ride because now the rapid airport uh train is closed uh is stopped so we have to take the normal local line uh so 1 hour hop out there yeah so see you back at the inappro station but it’s pretty late at night everything is almost closed already so there’s nothing more to do here so it’s best to go back home right now it’s the uphill battle we have to climb up this slope over here to the station and it’s so windy so when the wind with the temperature is not a good not a joke man look at B come the entire face already i cannot see anymore can see [Music] so right now we are at the train station waiting for the train uh to come but the train is about uh another 15 minutes more uh to come uh because the intera is pretty long right now at this late at night i show you guys this look when the train is operating in the snow that’s what happened in the front so the other train as well I will show you see one at the back yeah so that’s what happens they all build up with snow lots of snow another thing I saw is this one welcome bell i didn’t notice it until I actually going on the going back to Sakuro so apparently you can ring this bell the song basically is a is traditional thing tradition I guess in order to welcome you to Kotaroo very cool okay guys we are back at Sapro City sapro City so we are going back to the hotel so today we spent almost uh the entire day in Otaru i think uh both first time there see the famous Otaru Canal too bad we didn’t get a chance to go to the museum but we went to eat really good ramen uh which is the corn buttercorn ramen and really good the the ice cream cake yes from the towel which is the ice cream buffet with the biscuit and the cake yeah it’s pretty good so what do you think of today uh today for me no rush the time no rush the food nice take a lot of good photos mate yeah take a lot of photo photo very nice although the the press very beautiful yeah and I like there because no noise uh no noisy and quiet quiet yeah but but Otaru has so many things we haven’t seen yet like know looking at the sea uh like for example going to the museum uh and also some of the famous place for shopping and eating never mind next time come here again yay okay and uh today is uh weather is much colder it feels colder even though it didn’t snow much yeah so that’s something we noticed and also another thing is that we had to walk up that very gentle but long slope at the Otaro to go back to the station huh that was quite a walk right quite a walk yeah so we are going back to our hotel tomorrow we have to wake up early because we are going to hate this time we’re going to pack up our luggage and we’re going to take a trip to through the Shinkansen uh to Hakodate where we’re going to stay in a real actually a real where there’s onsen there’s food blah blah blah so yeah stay tuned for tomorrow see you guys ciao bye this is
