One-day Road Trip in Okinawa Local Island, Crystal Beach, Local Supermarket, and Hotel Buffet Ep.587

[Music] [Music] Oh my goodness, what a beautiful day. Today we are at Mako Island, one of the local island here in Japan. And yeah, that’s my car over there. So, this is the hotel that I stayed. If you want to see how it looks like, please don’t forget to check this video. It’s including the breakfast as well. So, let’s go eat the breakfast. All right, let’s go. [Music] What a beautiful day. So many sound of cicators. So the Blake first restaurant is in a different hotel. We just need to cross the street and uh yeah over there. Oh my goodness. What a beautiful ocean view. So shortcut for the entrance. This must be. All right. So I guess this is the place. It’s until 10 a.m. Yep. Before 9:00. So still we have time. There are the seats inside. But there is also a seats outside too. Huh. It’s a nice terrace seat. And then we can see ocean. So maybe we can eat outside. All right. I think this place it’s okay. So let’s go check up what kind of food they have. Inside it’s much cooler and a nice atmosphere to it. So seems like those are the cereal sections. They have a different kinds of tea. It’s a peach tea, strawberry tea, and then also the mango tea. That looks good. Also drink menu item too. Seems like the beer. We need to pay for that. And also they have a tropical juice. 500 Japanese yen. Oh, look at that. Interesting. Okinawa special menu items. Juicy oniiri. Oh, nice. There are many different kinds of flavor we can add. And those are the sl menus. Oh, we have a goyard. It’s a bit gold. That looks good. It’s very popular in Okinawa. Usually, we go to the different preur hotel. We can’t find that goya. It’s a white rice and also on tamango soft boiled egg. Plus, I think that’s a porridge. Many different kinds of fruits with yogurt. And also, it’s a bread section. Ah, this is the Okinawa style donuts. So, I guess those are the Chinese style dish and also Japanese breakfast, Hawaiian style rice, and milk. Oh, interesting. They have tacos. Oh, nice salsa sauce here too. And hot food over here. And I believe those are the Okinawa style dish. Also, this hotel’s original curry. And it’s a gimm tofu. We eat with wasabi. And also it’s the corn chowder. Interesting. I know the clam chowder, but it’s my first time to hear that corn chowder. Also, here we can make the miaakoba nakiru. I guess this must be like the miso soup. Next to it, there’s a pancake place. Also, we have a ice cream for the dessert. Oh, actually there are so many kinds here. Especially they have a shiquasa which is a special ice cream in Okinawa. Interesting. So let’s get this juicy rice bowl. And also this oil miso looks interesting. So we only got the onigiri now. And also let’s do with okino miso soup. It’s a bird and a papaya from island. Interesting. Papaya, my first time to hear that is sturdy sauce of seaweed. Huh, that’s interesting as well. That’s interesting, too. And also they have a special drink. Mia Kojima bitter melon juice. Oh, that’s interesting. Why not? Let’s do it. Well, seems like we can try it with the shotgrass. So, here we go. I tried to pick up the random food, the Okinawa Taiwan, so that I can try many different kinds of stuffs. All right, let’s eat. But firstly, let’s compile with the bitter melon drink. [Music] bitter. Well, the first sip there was a nice fruits orangey flavor. However, after that, the bitter melon’s bitterness comes and it’s very bitter. Very interesting though. From here, we can see the ocean beautifully. It’s a so beautiful view. I love this dining. Well, inside it’s much cooler, but outside it’s not that hot nater because of the wind from the ocean. So, not bad at all. It’s like the sticky rice with the soy sauce flavor. How about with mistle? Yep. Taste becomes much stronger. Well, I’m not really a morning person, so I can’t eat a lot in the morning. But if you eat a lot in the breakfast time. Yeah, probably those kind of breakfast buffet could be perfect. It is a strong sesame flavors tofu. [Music] So speaking of the today’s plan, we will explore the island by a car and try to visit the beautiful scenery places. And also today, finally, we will dive into the beach. So, we can film it in the ocean as well. Well, we only could explore this kind of a resort area. So, I’m looking forward to checking the downtown. Yeah. How it looks like. I’m just wondering. So, the second round, it’s the mo seaweed and miaakoba, which is a special soba over here. and different kinds of fruits. So this time normal bitter melon juice comp with mango sweet mango soda is much better. Well, probably the bit juice would be healthier though. Hot noodle is always good for the breakfast because it’s super easy to eat. And here we go. It’s a vinegar kiwi mo. [Music] Actually, it was not sour, so it’s easy to eat. The flavor of light drink is popular, but l fruits is not popular in Japan. I can’t remember when was the last time that I eat the l fruits. Interesting. It’s almost time for the closing. So, yeah, I eat earlier. Yeah, because I don’t want to bother them. [Music] That was nice breakfast. Well, to be honest, speaking of this hotel price, my expectation wasn’t that high, especially for the breakfast, but it was a good surprise. Loving it. [Music] Second, that was a good breakfast. In front of the restaurant, there is a swimming pool in front of the ocean, too. the small house over there. It’s a steam room. So, very relaxing place. There’s a jagu as well. Oh, they have a coffee to go as well. Sweet. All right, so let’s go. What a beautiful street. I totally forgot. Yep, we have a shortcut to our hotel. Yeah, this way. much closer and I connect to the different hotel. We can use both swimming pool though. My hotel room is at the corner. So here. All right. Here we go. All right. So, let’s go to the beach. So, today we’re going to the most popular beach in Mako Island. So the beach named Yonahai beach, it’s about 18 minutes driving from here. So let’s go. Yeah, literally no car is driving over here. Oh, where are all the peoples? Maybe because we are at south part of island. Very interesting, beautiful place. Must be super nice living over here. So now we arrived to Yonahay beach which is one of the most popular beach in my island. And if you come over here during the busy season, it’s okay. Uh let me go and explain. So, I got the take off GoPro here and place it in here. So, now it’s ready to film inside the ocean, too. Yep. But beforehand, let’s go check up if there’s a coin locker or something over there. Oh my goodness, what a beautiful beach. I just asked to the local people and actually this is the south parking. So we have a main entrance in a different place. Probably it will not be crowded today. So we might find a parking over there. So firstly, why don’t we go check over there so that it will be much easier. All right. So let’s retry. All right, we arrived. Yep. Compared to the other spot, yes, there are more parking. Luckily, I could find a parking spot over here. Oh my goodness, what a beautiful beach. So, seems like that’s a beach house and also the ocean. So, let’s dive into the beach. All right, ready to go. It’s my first time here. Use the GoPro in the ocean. It works though. Anyways, yes, the back with the waterproof. Yeah, finally I can use it on my hair. So, let’s go to the ocean. Wow, that’s a beautiful ocean. This is the waterproof but in case I place it into the back. So those are the swimming area. All right. So let’s go. Wow. Oh my goodness. It’s really beautiful ocean. Wow. Oh my goodness. Feels pretty good. It’s a bit salty over here. [Music] You know, I’m kind of scared to try go inside the GoPro, but it should be fine. So, let’s dive. So, so let’s go back to the car. So, I just came back to the car. Hopefully, the footage isn’t bad, though. Speaking of the shower, there is a toilet in the shower over there so that we can use it. 100 Japanese yen for 5 minutes. It was not crowded, so that was perfect. Yes, Speaking of the waterproof bag. Yep, definitely it was it. While I was swimming over there, there were all the couples over there chilling beside the beach. So, I asked them to watch out my uh back so that it was safe. Anyways, well, my bucket list filming in the ocean is checked. So, loving it. So, now we are heading back to the hotel and let’s go to the next spot. Yes. Let’s keep driving. So, now we will visit the small island beside the Mako Island. There is the most beautiful bridge over there in Japan probably. So, we will go check there. Let’s see how it looks like, you know. So, this is the ocean station. It says there’s a photo spot and also the restaurants. Let’s check up inside. There’s free Wi-Fi, too. Ah, nice. Oh, those are Okinawa souvenir. Oh, that’s a cute earrings. Okinawa style. Beautiful pictures. And ocean color. So cute. There are so many Okinawa foods over here. All of them. It’s my first time to see Jimi tofu. Probably this is the one we ate in this morning. Snow salt and also cookies. Sweet. Interesting. High sizeai sauce. 968 Japanese yen. It’s my first time to see. Oh, and this must be the chili sauce we have tried yesterday. Nice. Price is 756 Japanese yen. They have a smaller one, too. 324. Oh my goodness. They have a shasa spicy sauce, too. Ah, that must be interesting taste. And there are cute sea. This week one 2,640 Japanese yen. Two Caesars art set on wishing Caesar. That’s nice. 550 Japanese yen. And look at this. Oh my goodness, that’s so cute. That’s a Orient bill gold marker and a casino styles gold marker, too. Nice. So, seems like in the second floor there’s a restaurant. Wow, it’s a nice restaurant. We can see the ocean beautifully, too. Wow, great view. They have many different kinds of soba. So, so I want to eat something different. So, let’s try this a and also let’s do with the umi. This is a really popular food in Okinawa. So, eventually I changed my mind. Let’s try to order something special here. So, I ordered a takoku, the Okinawa style one. H, it must be good. That’s a tofu choo taku with the umi. Oh, yeah. It’s ready. Oh, look at that. It looks pretty good. Nice. Sweet. So, taku arrives. It’s the white rice. And this must be the tofu shampoo. That looks pretty good. And um budo here. It’s the sea grape. Plus, I guess this is a dashi soup. Also, it comes with the mo seaweed. Well, this is much fancy than I imagined. It looks pretty good, too. So, let’s eat it. [Music] It has a very gentle taste, nice dashy flavor and also flavor bacon perfectly matches with soup and the tofu. Love them. Probably if I move to the Mako Island, I will have a longer life because of this healthier food and also the peaceful atmosphere. Yeah, loving it. And it’s time for the sea grape. You know, the last time when I eat the sea grape, it was when I was a high school student, I visit Okinawa by the school trip and I haven’t eaten the sea grape until then. So, [Music] This sweet vinegar sauce perfectly matches with the sea grape. The sea grapes. It’s like a topping in my mouth. Yep. It’s macho and loving it. [Music] It also comes with mo seaweed. [Music] It’s not sour matchy. Nice lemon flavor. Loving it. Speaking of today’s weather forecast in this mango island, it was a crowdy day whole day. So I kind of worry, you know, it becomes not good view. However, it became a totally sunny day and I’m super happy. Thank god especially I love this ube. We have a secret in Okinawa style drinking restaurant in Tokyo too. But yeah, probably it would cost double but half amount of this. This sea grape only cost 350 Japanese yen. But this much amount I was surprised. H That was pretty good. Price was 1,450 Japanese yen. Thinking about the place. Loving it. Yep. What a beautiful day. Inside the shop there is also a touristic info place too. And they told me one of the best observatory in this island. So we are heading there. It calls Makyama. So let’s drive there. [Music] All right. So let’s go. So this must be the way. Ah seems like there are many people over there. So that’s a popular spot, huh? Wow. Beautiful street. Seems like the street in the studio Gibli. Is it the sound of old? Nice nature street. Oh, so that must be the spot. It seems like pretty old building. Yep. Ruptor. Oh, more of it. This building reminds me the building in the Armageddon. You know, before he left the earth, he visited the same spot. I can’t remember where it is, but uh this place reminds me there so nice obser. Oh, wow. That’s beautiful. So, that’s the main island we stay. That’s the longest bridge in Japan that you can pass without paying money. Oh my goodness, what a beautiful island there. Also in this way, we can check up this island. Yeah, from here I feel like nothing here. That’s like the Jurassic Park island, huh? Interesting. So, the next spot is the 17 and it’s right next to the airport in this island. We can see the very beautiful clear ocean from there. That’s what the local people told me and it’s one of the must check spot over here. So why not? Let’s go. All right. Now we arrived to 17 and the beach. That’s the airport. And yep, the street continues all the way down. Wow, that’s a beautiful beach. No one is here. Ah, look at that crowd over there. Looks like the guy just diving into the ocean. Wow, there is nothing but ocean. Sweet. So that must be the 17 over there. Oh, wait. I see. So that’s the beach and the 17 end is all the way down over there. Seems like it’s a long way to go, but it’s okay. Let’s keep walking. By the way, water it’s very clear. Maybe I should have brought the parcel too. It must be pretty nice swimming over here. But uh no shower, though. Oh, I see. Maybe they are waiting for the plane to leave. Seems like we are right on time. Yeah, must be that’s the spot. Yeah, it’s coming. So, I guess this must be the spot. Hold on. Seems like it’s going to the other direction. So, it’s not coming over here. Huh? Since everyone is here. I thought it’s coming this way though. But uh yeah, it’s already gone. Interesting. So I just asked to the people actually they are waiting the flight is coming from there to here. However, there is a delay on the flight. So that’s why it never comes. And then also that was a flight heading to the Kyushu region. So that was not the flight they were looking for. They were waiting for the flight coming from there. Yeah, it totally makes sense now. Oh, and this must be the way to go to the 17. And however, seems like now we can’t enter. H I’m just wondering where they get the bicycle. It must be pretty easy, huh? Oh, so this must be the one. The original arriving time was 4:25. However, there is a delay and it will arrive here at 5:02. It’s about 20 minutes to go. H maybe we can wait here. No shade. So, waiting over here for 20 minutes. It’s a long way to go. Well, since I didn’t bring the parcel, I will be the turtle. I will escape into the shirts. Let’s keep waiting. Oh, finally. It seems like it’s coming. Everyone’s here. Yep. Everyone was waiting for that. We’ll see. I believe still it will take a while now. Oh, wow. Well, to be honest, I was expecting more closer look with the huge solder, but uh yeah, you know, Japan is a safe country, so their safety cord, it’s maybe more strict compared to the other countries. So, this is the I think closest distance that we can see. It was very interesting though. And now everyone is going back to the car. So, let’s go back to the car. Let’s keep walking. You know, they only have a several flight in a day. So, I think we are pretty lucky. Yeah, we just wait like a 20 minutes. Actually, 15 minutes. So, not bad at all. This 17 and the ocean could be the hidden spot. However, there is no shower, neither the local. So, if you are coming here with the family, I recommend the beach that we visited this morning. Oh, yeah. It’s almost there. Finally. All right. So, let’s go to the next spot. But this place is crowded. So, let’s go. Yep. It’s a long line. Oh my goodness. Suddenly, the rain started. I guess it’s cold. So now we are at downtown area of Yakojima. Seems like there are many cars and also shops as well. Plus people are walking on the street. So this side area there are many sightseeing hotels. If you don’t have a car probably you want to stay around here. So this must be the place shopping town near Kojima. Seems like we have Daiso here too. All right, finally we arrived. Oh, seems like it starts raining again. Let’s go inside the supermarket. Yeah, we got run. Oh my goodness, it’s so suddenly heavy rain started there. It’s just cold, huh? Wow. Interesting. Beautiful town though. So it’s like this regular supermarket, but they have a Okinawa foods too. They have sashimi. Must be really fresh, too, huh? Oh, interesting. Okinawa squid and also the veggies salad. Let’s do it. And the spicy cucumber with octopus. Why not? Let’s do this one, too. And this one. Chinese style mimikar and also the jellyfish. I think that’s something special here. Let’s do it too. Oh, I think this one is a special Okinawa thing as well. Food choo. Interesting. Why not? Let’s do this one too. Oh, really? They have coconuts here. It’s my first time to see selling it in the supermarket. The 430 Japanese yen and also papaya and a huge cherry too. It’s my first time to see to interesting. Maybe like a cucumber. And also they sell the papaya. Wow. Interesting. 666 Japanese yen. And also they are selling mia kosoba. But we can’t cook it in the hotel. They have a half price sale. 342 Japanese becomes the half price. So 150 Japanese yen. But I don’t know how to eat it though. Interesting. Oh, really? They have a Oreon chuhai. Never seen it in Tokyo. They have a passion fruits, kabuchi, and also Okinawa Kashi. Why not? I want to try. Oh, let’s do it. Oh, hold on. They have a shasa taste. I think this one sounds more mako island. So, let’s do it. I mean, Okinawa. Wait, forget about the chuhai. They have a Orian beer, the premium, the dark, and also the passion fruits. Uh, let’s change it to those. And also, they have a shimagoni pillar, too. This one interesting, too. I got to try it. So, let’s forget about the chai. Let’s go with the beer. This one, too. It’s my first time to seeing selling it in the supermarket. Taco rice, kapow rice, and also to rice. Interesting. Also, that’s my first time to see. It’s a shasa drink 100%. Price is 537 Japanese, which is pretty expensive compared to the regular drink. But it says if you drink straightly, it’s super sour. So, please drink it little by little. So, must be something very special. Interesting. Oh, sweet. Already rain has stopped. Now came into the car and we can see the sky beautifully. When I try to film outside, my lens fogged up because of the humidity. So I can’t film outside. So eventually I got this much. It’s all of Okinawa food. Price cost 2,264 Japanese yen. However, compared to the eating in the restaurant, definitely it’s much cheaper. You know, two large glass of beer already cost like this much. So, I think that’s a good deal. Anyways, it’s always interesting to explore the local supermarket is something special. Well, I can’t wait exploring the other prefecture supermarket in the future when I visit other prefecture too. So, hope everyone enjoys that too. Anyways, so let’s go back to the hotel. I need to place it into the refrigerator. By the way, my hair looks weird, but never mind. So, let’s go back to the hotel. So, this is the Mako Island and we are over here. This is the downtown area and our hotel is here. So, we need to drive like 30 minutes. Let’s keep driving. Seems like there are many apartment over here. It’s a residential area. [Music] And we came back to or hotel. Sweet, sweet, sweet. I’m wondering if we can find a brick in here. Uh, probably we can, huh? Yeah. Oh, wait. Is this No, that’s for the stairs. So, nope. Yep. In the night time, it’s harder to find a park. All right, we parked over here and the hotel is over there. Yep. The cam is fogging again. 84% humidity. No wonder. Oh, maybe we can eat over here, huh? Oh, really? It starts raining now. Well, I think this place is good. However, since it’s super humid, it’s 85% humidity, my cam lens will be fogged. So, probably we better go back to it really. Well, hold on. Maybe it’s still better compared to this old table, though. Let me try it again. Well, I tried to clean it up, but it seems like it’s still fogging, huh? Yeah, it’s super humid. Maybe I better go back to the room. I don’t know. I don’t see. H. Well, I think they had the table at the lobby. However, I think it was pretty dark, so I’m not sure if I can use it or not. Well, if it was not raining, this place would be perfect, though. H, let me see. Yeah, I think in the hotel rooms feel better. Let’s use this small table. Anyways, here we go. [Music] Uh since I came back to room, let me place it back here and then refresh everything so that we can cut high with the cold one. Yeah, it’s perfect. All right, so let’s cut high pie. Sweet. Orian the dark. It’s like compared to regular Korean beer, it’s a bit bitter taste. So, it is a Chinese style mimiga and kurag jelly fish. So, what’s a mimiga? Yes, mimiga is a pig’s ear. I know it sounds totally weird, but we will never know until we eat. M. It’s like the chicken cartridge. Not smelly at all. Nice vinegar flavor. Perfectly matches with jellyfish. I love this kind of a chewy taste. Especially it’s perfect with beer. So according to the info fu shampoo, it is a popular Okinawa stir fry food featuring fu. Probably you’re wondering what is fu. So fu is a popular Japanese ingredient made by the wheat gritain. So [Music] It’s not the oily but little bit of oily flavor perfectly matches with this veggie. It is a very gentle taste. If I had the white rice, I think I can eat maybe one or two bowls with this. M. [Music] And this one. Yeah. Before I eat it, I know it’s good. Taco. So, it’s a spicy octopus with cucumber. Must be good. [Music] I love eating octopus. This octopus is fresh and also it is chewy. Chili becomes the accent for the little bit sweet octopus. Perfect with cucumber. And the next one, it’s Okinawa style nango piler. Try. Oh, the bitterness is not much. It’s very fruity. It’s like drinking chuhai but with the beer taste. M nice. [Music] And the last one, Okinawa squid with veggie. This must be something sour, I believe. So, [Music] M. Yeah, as I expected, light flavor of pickle the veggie. Very refreshing taste. It’s totally different compared to the other fruit. It’s like eating the salad. Yeah. So, these four different kinds of dishes all together, it cost about 1,000 Japanese yen. Yes, it’s only 1,000 Japanese yen. I know Japanese supermarket is incredible. Especially they have a light snack as well. So, people who don’t cook much, yeah, it’s a good option as well. Of course, people who cooks, there are many ingredients, too. So, that could be a good option, too. H this year it will be the year that I’m checking off my bucket list and one of my bucket list is watching the beautiful stairs in countryside of Japan or in some other places. However, yesterday it was cloudy day and then there was raining as well and tonight as you see there were raining as well. So unfortunately I can’t see the stars. One of the reason why I rent the car is because there were the possibility that we could see the stars. But seems like this trip, yeah, we couldn’t see.
