EPISODE 4: JAPAN – OSAKA & HIROSHIMA #Osaka #Hiroshima #Japan

World. I am Prem and I am Latha. We are thrilled to share our incredible travel adventures with
you. For years, we have explored new places truly experiencing our planet’s vast beauty. We have now explored 59 countries spanning Six Continents. Thanks for watching our first three
episodes. We really appreciate your feedback. If you are new, please don’t miss Tokyo, Mount
Fuji, Nara, Kyoto, and Kobe in previous episodes. Now, Welcome to Episode 4: Japan – Osaka and Hiroshima. In this episode, you will see Osaka Castle, Dotonbori Shopping Street, Haruka’s 300, and Osaka Universal Studios. Also, Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Dome, Peace Memorial,
and Hiroshima Castle. Don’t miss “the Universal Studios colorful parade show”. After an early breakfast, we were off to Osaka. The bullet train, the Shinkansen, whizzed past us at incredible
speed. This time, Kisshor got super excited watching the train speed go over 280 km/per hour on the display. It’s truly thrilling. We soon arrived at Osaka station and Wow, it was huge. Osaka Station is the fourth busiest railway station in the world. Once again, Kisshor collected his Eki Stamp in
Osaka. It is a fun way to collect souvenuirs and remember the places we have visited. We are in Dotonbori shopping street in Osaka. What really blew us away, were the unusual and amazing sign boards above the shops. We were fascinated by the enormous Crab Signboard. Kisshor actually spotted a shop making “Takoyaki” which is an octopus ball. Okay, this is the Dotonbori street food.
This is Octopus balls. Everywhere you look, there are giant colorful billboards
make the whole street feel so alive and exciting. We saw these fantastic Cow designs displayed on top of shops with the giant Cow heads sticking out. It was so funny and unique. A large Dragon billboard sits on a shop. Its famous eye-catching symbol in the lively street. Prem and Kisshor enjoyed a fun activity at a shop
trying to catch a wooden ball that was attached to a string. They would throw the ball upwards and
try to skillfully position it back into place. It was a simple yet engaging game that brought
smiles to their faces. “Thank you so much.” We are now in Shinshaibashi Shopping Street,
a super famous and exciting place. This long, covered Corridor stretches for about 600 m.
Which is fantastic, because it is perfect for any weather. It is like an indoor mall with a lively buzz of an outdoor market. City tour boats offer fantastic views
of landmarks and the lively atmosphere. On our way to the famous building Harukas 300, we enjoyed the views along both sides of Osaka’s Yodo River. We hopped into the lift, to go up to Harukas 300. We were on the observation deck located on the 60th floor. Harukos is a super important building in Osaka. It is 300 m tall and currently the second tallest skyscraper in Japan. What’s truly special is, the combination of its incredible height, that unique architectural design. The 58th floor of Harukas 300, features the Sky Garden and Open-air wooden deck, and a Cafe. It offers a relaxing space with a stunning 360° views you get. We were absolutely amazed by the view from up there. From inside this top floor has huge glass windows showing all of Osaka. It feels like you’re floating above the city. This tall, sleek building
looks grand against the Sky. Huruka’s Observation Deck offers a surprising treat. Its toilets boast floor to-ceiling glass windows providing genuinely fascinating and unique city views even from the restroom. [Music] After Haruka’s visit, we saw something
really interesting. It was amazing to see how people could walk about the busy roads on special walkways with many paths crossing over each other. It is such a clever way to keep people safe. We are in Shinsheki district which is a vibrant old-fashioned part of Osaka. As you walk around, you will feel like you have stepped back in time. Now we are walking towards Tsutenkaku Tower, a famous landmark in Osaka, meaning “tower reaching to heaven.” You will also see many Billiken Statues. Billiken is a cute, smiling, chubby character like “A little God of Good Luck”. People often rub his feet for good fortune. A really interesting thing we saw was at a
restaurant. They had tanks with live fish inside. People could actually choose the fish they wanted to eat right from the tank and then the restaurant would cook it fresh for them. It is a very fresh and fun way to have your meal. We took a buggy ride through the big green park
all the way to Osaka Castle. The castle has a long history, being destroyed and rebuilt
several times. Today, it stands proudly as a popular tourist spot. After a long day of sightseeing and visiting many places, we unfortunately could not make it inside Osaka Castle before it closed. The Eki stamp collection is a unique and delightful aspect
of Japan. Kishor collected another stamp at Universal City Station in Osaka. All right, folks. Let’s go. Let’s go. Universal Studios Japan. Our visit to Universal Studios Japan in Osaka was truly unforgettable. This amazing Theme Park opened in 2001. It is a famous and popular with tourists because it brings all favorite movies and characters to life in such an exciting way. Millions of people visit every year. I hope you’re ready because there is no limit to wait, It is
coming at you in just 15 minutes. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] I’m coming. [Music] Oh, [Music] Oh my god. [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] Osaka Universal Studios is split into different worlds, each with its own special feel and attractions. We explored so many colorful places. [Music] Finally, we reached the world of Harry Potter
and it was absolutely stunning. It felt like we had stepped right into the movies. The
main Harry Potter Castle looked incredible. Especially its reflection shimmering in the
water. It was a truly magical sight. Our boys are huge Harry Potter fans and they loved this
part of the park so much. There were characters dressed like those from Harry Potter acting on a stage and a huge crowd was watching them. [Music] [Music] You could even buy magic wands there, just like in Ollivanders. [Music] So cool. [Music] As a souvenuir, Kisshor bought a fun Toad Hat. [Music] Our bullet train journeys between cities were
a pleasant part of our Japanese adventure. [Music] We are in Hiroshima Gokoku Shrine. It’s
a peaceful place inside Hiroshima Castle Park. It honors people from
Hiroshima who died in wars. The original shrine was destroyed by the atomic bomb, but it was rebuilt. Many locals visit for good luck. [Music] Hiroshima Castle was rebuilt after the Atomic Bomb. Today it’s a museum showing Hiroshima’s history and offers great city views. Okay, we went up to the castle. We went up to Hiroshima Castle. We did. It was a pretty castle from the outside. We didn’t explore inside because we’ve been to many castles that look like that. This castle got destroyed by bomb. This got completely destroyed by the atomic bomb and they rebuilt. Yeah. When people say Hiroshima, most of us immediately think of the atomic bomb dropped during World War II. It is just ingrained in our minds. [Music] The Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Dome
is kept exactly as it was after the bomb. It’s a really important symbol of the atomic bombing and
was made a UNESCO World Heritage in 1996. [Music] It is still standing today because it was almost
right under where the bomb exploded. Even though everything around it was destroyed, some of its
walls just stayed up. Lots of people from all over the world come to see it. It really helps them understand the terrible power of the bomb and why peace is so important. It’s a special part is that, it’s still broken, showing exactly what happened. The drumming and singing are acts of prayer and mourning, a deeply cultural way to honor victims and wish for a world free of nuclear weapons. Hey, [Applause] I’d really enjoy to be the guy
on the drums, to be honest. The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Arched Tomb is, this
carved stone monument in the peace memorial park. This peace memorial park itself is a big quiet place that remembers the people who died from the bomb. It also hopes for peace around the world. It was built on the land that was completely
empty after the bomb. The whole idea was to make place for thinking about peace and learning. [Music] The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Hall helps us remember atomic bomb victims. It stores their names and photos. Inside a special room shows a 360° view of the destroyed city,
helping everyone understand the terrible event and hope for peace. Inside the park, there is a museum called the Peace Memorial Museum. It shows pictures and things from the bombing. Hiroshima was devastated in 1945, but today it stands as a vibrant modern city and a global symbol of peace. Our Japan tour ended highlighting its most admirable qualities, Impeccable Cleanliness and the Disciplined Behaviour of its people. [Music] Thanks for watching. Get ready for our next adventure, an exciting 14-day Baltic Cruise Tour. We will explore Seven Countries starting from Rotterdam, Netherlands. See you in the Next Episodes of our Sea Adventure.
