【富山】立山黒部アルペンルートに行って来ました!室堂では土砂降り!黒部ダムほか
It is now June 13th, 4pm. How are you all doing? I’m leaving the rainy season and the Kansai region is taking a break, so I’m getting on the highway at Ebisu-cho Interchange. I’m driving from the Hanshin Expressway Loop Line to the Higashi-Osaka Line. From Higashi-Osaka JCT, I’m on the Kinki Expressway. From Kadoma JCT, I’m on the Second Keihan Expressway. I’m going to the Keiji Bypass at Kumiyama JCT! Kumiyama JCT is a popular junction among enthusiasts . The Keiji Bypass, which splits off from the Meishin Expressway in Oyamazaki-cho, Kyoto Prefecture , rejoins the Meishin Expressway in Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture. I’ll get off the highway at Ishiyama Interchange. Hello , I’m driving on a road near Lake Biwa on the lakeside road in Shiga Prefecture. It’s 5pm now, but I’m going to Toyama, stay overnight, and then tomorrow morning I’m going to take the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. After that, I’ll stay at Unazuki Onsen , and depending on the weather, I’d like to ride the trolley train the next day . Karahashi in Seta. This is the only bridge over the Seta River that flows out of Lake Biwa, and it was built in the Asuka period. When the Seta River enters Kyoto, it becomes the Uji River, and finally becomes the Yodo River before flowing into Osaka Bay. Cross the Lake Biwa Bridge to the west side of the lake. Drive on the National Route 161 Bypass and Lake Biwa West Longitudinal Road. There are no traffic lights, so it’s very comfortable. National Route 161 merges with National Route 8 in Tsuruga City, Fukui Prefecture. Pass near Tsuruga Station. From Tsuruga Interchange, get back on the highway and the Hokuriku Expressway. We’ve arrived in Toyama! Good morning Good morning
It’s the morning of the second day. I’m going to Tateyama Station now. Today I’m going to Kurobe Dam and back on the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route , and then I’ll take a walk around Murodo and Daikanbo . It takes about an hour by car from Toyama City to Tateyama Station . I’m worried that the weather won’t be very good. The reason why I chose this date, which is a bit of a tricky time during the rainy season, is that I wanted to see Snow Otani, and due to various circumstances , I could only schedule it for mid-June, which is the closest I could get to seeing it . The sky is full of rainy season. Tateyama Station on the Toyama Chiho Railway Tateyama Line is the starting point of the Toyama side of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route . The starting point on the Nagano side is Ogizawa. Arrived at Tateyama Station. Arrived at the parking lot. The parking lot is free, by the way . It’s pretty early in the morning… Today’s first train is at 7 o’clock. Is it fake? I was told that it was fake , but I was dressed like a Montbell fan from head to toe. It’s fake, it’s fake. There are a lot of things, it’s a resort area , there are various pensions and lodges, but well, I can’t log in. The check-in time (last night) doesn’t match, so I logged in, which is not wrong in a sense! lol Is it a machine ?
It’s not a machine, but it’s too early and there are so many things and none of them are open yet. Onigiri can be taken home. Delicious white shrimp croquettes! It looks delicious. This inn is also in the best location. This inn, huh?
It’s the best location, closest to the station. And, oh, there are people who want to buy tickets on the day already waiting for the ticket office to open. Oh , that’s right, they accept cars for return journeys. I didn’t know this, so I chose to go to Kurobe and make a round trip , but I thought I could drive to Ogizawa (Nagano) too. Of course I could, so I wondered what to do with my car, but if I was going to Ogizawa , the only option was the train. If I came here by car and chose the route to Ogizawa, there seems to be a service that will return my car to Ogizawa. This is Tateyama Station . The altitude here is surprisingly not that high, 475m, and then I get off at the rotary in front of Tateyama Station. I’ll take that . I bought my ticket online and made a reservation. There is a special ticket machine inside the station. Inside Tateyama Station. There is a convenience store and a food court. Is there a Montbell store? This electric tunnel bus, Tateyama Tunnel electric bus , seems to be new this year. *Actually, it’s a
trolley bus. Before that, it was a troll bus. I wanted to try riding it. Kurobedaira is currently at 13°C , Kurobe Dam is also at 13°C. According to today’s official forecast, it will be sunny around Kurobe Dam, and Murodo is cloudy. Well, it’s not too bad. I was prepared for rain, so I was hoping it wasn’t a downpour. I was hoping it wasn’t a downpour . And Murodo is currently at 11°C , Daikanbo is at 13°C. This is today’s round-trip ticket to Kurobe. Let ‘s go! Tateyama Station is at an altitude of 475m, while Bijodaira Station is at 977m. It’s a short 7-minute trip with an elevation difference of about 500m. We arrived at Bijodaira Station. From here we change to a bus and go to Murodo. We’ve arrived. The stairs are quite steep, so we change to a bus and get on the bus. We ‘re leaving Bijodaira. But Bijodaira isn’t really a place for regular vehicles.
That’s right, just like Kamikochi, regular vehicles can’t enter . It’s a national park, so that’s how they protect the nature. Of course, Bijodaira Sky Road. Tateyama cedar trees are said to be over 1,000 years old. Shomyo Falls, Japan’s largest waterfall, boasts a drop of 350m. Until today, I thought Nachi Falls was the best in Japan. Shomyo Falls is a four-tiered waterfall, and although Nachi Falls has a larger drop as a single tiered waterfall, it seems to be larger overall. As we went up in altitude, we could see some remaining snow. I hope I can see a ptarmigan. I guess we ‘ve passed the tree line, the view has opened up. This is it, Mt. Yakushi . From the left, Mt. Dainichi, Mt. Nakadainichi, Mt. Okudainichi. Wow, the snow has really piled up ! Amazing, the seasons are going backwards! Oiwake toll gate is just around the corner ! Snowy Otani!
Oh, wow, it’s amazing ! It really is a wall! I think it’s gotten much lower! Murodo is a heavy snow area, and Otani here in particular has a lot of snow because of the snowdrifts, and the wall created by snow removal can exceed 20m. The wall that is created in this way is Snowy Otani. Anyway, we’re almost at Murodo, so I’d like to take a little walk, around Mikurigaike Pond, etc. We’ve arrived at Murodo. It’s so close, from here to Snow Otani , oh, it’s cold , this is an electric bus, but I was planning to do some sightseeing here, so the broth smells good
, soba noodles, Tateyama soba, Tateyama soba , what time does it start? From 8:30? (Right now) Just before 8 o’clock… Then I can go see the snow and eat it when I come back, right? There are things like soba oyaki , wow, I want to eat, I
want to eat, Tateyama Murodo, the altitude here is 2,450m, where can I go outside ? I don’t know where the exit is. I want
to go outside, I bought one each of oyaki with bean paste and nozawana , it’s hot,
I gave up on the hot exit and decided to eat the oyaki. Hot , I’m going to eat the mountain vegetable soba. This is breakfast, is it delicious? It’s delicious, the broth is a little sweet , it’s delicious, it’s right here, Hotel Tateyama, above this, and the exit at Murododaira… There’s also spring water, the third floor , Snow Otani Walk… Can’t I get out? 6℃ until 9:30! It looks cold, it
‘s nice , this hotel, it’s kind of stylish, the entrance to Hotel Tateyama is on the second floor of the old-fashioned terminal. Hotel TateyamaBears are seen above the terminal hereI don’t go
that farI’m just going to take a walk around the area so it’s fineWhy did the bear attack me
? Looks coldWow , so coldIt ‘s raining really hardIt’s really rainingThis is the observation deckI wonder if Mikurigaike is up aheadIt ‘s raining a little so I’ll put Murodo off for now, go to Kurobe first and take a walk around here on the way backNow , I’m going to get on the electric bus nowI’m looking forward to itI got a commemorative card for the rideThere are two busesI got on the electric busIt took about 10 minutesUntil last year it was a trolley busA trolley bus is a bus that runs on electricity from overhead lines like a train.I’ve reached the halfway point of the tunnel. Directly above is the main peak of Tateyama (Mt. Oyama). The main peak of the Tateyama mountain range, Mt. Tateyama, is said to be made up of three peaks, one of which is Mt. Oyama directly above, and the highest peak is Mt. Oonami.I’ve arrived at DaikanboI’ll go to the observation deck for a bitIt ‘s this way, oh it’s rainingI thought so tooOh , what a shame, I’m going homeAh , it’s cold! Eh? Is this snow!? Perhaps it’s amazing, this is snowThis is amazing but this, it’s raining really hardThe cable car ticket gates have begunIs it a ropeway, or not a cable carAhh , really… What are you sayingAhh
, what are you saying, I’m taking pictures of everything, so here you goAhh , what are you sayingIt’s a crow or a kiteDaikanbo is 2316mNow we’re heading to Kurobe, Kurobe is the type that you ride standing up, of course, that’s rightThe seven-minute walk through the air begins.Wow , amazing! Amazing! Snow! We arrived at Kurobedaira and decided to put off our stroll here and go to the dam first , so we went to Kurobe Dam and then strolled around on the way back. To be honest, I was really looking forward to strolling around Murodo, but I guess I had no choice but to come. Bura Tamori . Oh, it’s kind of chilly. Even though we’re way lower in altitude, it still feels cold. The air is just as you’d expect from Lake Yamanaka.
It’s not Lake Yamanaka. That’s Yamanashi.
Lake Yamanaka. There are mountains, but it’s not Lake Yamanaka. There are mountains. My ears are ringing. My ears are ringing. Wow, it’s amazing.
It’s really just a light rain ! This is Kurobe Dam, the dam lake . Oh, it feels like the sun is shining in a faint light. Amazing, amazing
, amazing, they built it in the middle of the mountains, it ‘s amazing! Wow! It’s so high I feel like I’m sucked in . I know someone who said they walked here. It ‘s like a catwalk. Yes, there’s that place. It’s blue and it’s so amazing . You can see it from above and from below. I wish they were releasing water . I wonder if they release water at a set time? They said it was probably mid-June . They say it starts releasing water. It’s like melting snow water is stored there . This is amazing . There’s still more below… Rainbow Terrace. From the name, it seems like you can see a rainbow from there when the water is released. Wow! Amazing! You lose your sense of height. You can really see how amazing it is compared to the people above. Wow, it’s amazing . Kurobe Dam is 186m high! Of course, it is the tallest dam in Japan. Special venueThere was a place like a Kurobe Dam museum. Admission is free, so I decided to take a look. Kurobe Dam/Kurobe River No. 4 Power Station, commonly known as ‘Kuroyon’, is a dam dedicated to hydroelectric power generation, construction of which began in 1956 and was completed in 1963 . Just securing a route to transport supplies was extremely difficult, and 171 people were killed in the process before it was completed. Electricity generated at Kurobe Dam is still being supplied to the Kinki region through Kansai Electric Power. Local cider from Kurobe Dam. Kurobe spring water. I’m back at the cable car station . I’m heading to Kurobedaira. To Kurobedaira Panorama Terrace. Wow, amazing! A wonderful panorama from an altitude of 1,828m. You can also see the dam lake. Take the ropeway to Daikanbo. I’ve returned to Murodo. I thought I’d take a leisurely stroll around Murodo, but… it’s raining! Is
it still raining? Wow, it’s amazing, it’s raining so much, it’s still raining, it’s raining so much,
it’s pouring ! I can’t see anything,
I can’t see anything, I’ll stop, I could go with an umbrella, but I can’t see anything, I’m really disappointed, but I’m going to take the bus to Bijohira, look, I wanted to take a stroll in this weather! I wanted to walk to Yuki-no-Otani, but I was also disappointed to see Mikurigaike . I left Murodo with a lot of regret. We took a bus to Bijodaira and then took a cable car back to Tateyama . This is what it looked like on the way back. It was completely white. We couldn’t see anything . The ground was covered in snow and was completely white, and the sky was also completely white. We returned to Bijodaira. From here we took the cable car back to Tateyama. We took the cable car back to Tateyama. We went down to Tateyama Station. This cable car used to carry materials to the construction site of Kurobe Dam, and this loading platform is a remnant of that time. We returned to Tateyama Station
. It’s not raining now . Only Murodo over there . And Murodo is the main tourist spot of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route , but because of the bad weather it’s packed with people and you can’t do sightseeing. It’s amazing . So, we left Tateyama a little earlier than planned, but we moved to Unazuki Onsen. Tonight’s accommodation is the Grandvrio Hotel Unazuki Onsen.
