Award winning ramen and gyoza chef Yuichi Ochi has brought his celebrated Japanese born Ramen Ochi restaurant to the San Gabriel Valley.

Located in Rowland Heights, the restaurant held its soft opening on July 15 with plans for a grand opening happening next month. It was founded by Ochi and his grandfather Ochi Katsuhisa. Chef Ochi has won more than 30 awards in Japan including the Dai Tsukemen Haku Ramen Champion award, which according to a release is Japan’s most prestigious ramen competition.

At the core of his success are the chef’s signature broths. They are simmered for a minimum of eight hours daily and one of the chef’s top creations is the Triple Rich Broth, made from a blend of chicken, pork, and beef.

Some of the menu highlights include the Original Nikutama Ramen, featuring a Sanjyu Broth, a rich combination of soy sauce, chicken, pork, and beef bones. it’s served with thick noodles, sautéed pork belly, onions, red onions, chives, and naruto (fishcake). Also popular is the Wasabi TamagoKakeMen or TKM for short. This dish is made of thick noodles mixed with homemade soy-based sauce, served with sautéed pork belly, onions, chives, and a  raw egg.
