(atypical) day in my life in japan
[Music] Today I woke up at 4:30 in the morning to catch a flight for one of my favorite perfectionures in Japan called Okinawa. I arrived an hour before my flight and went through security within 2 minutes. We got bus to the plane which is a drag, but whatever. The flight is cheap. The flight from Tokyo to Okinawa is less than 3 hours, so we arrived just in time for lunch. Our friend had never been there and wanted to try local food, so we took him to A&W, which is an American fast food chain. We were only teasing. For context, Okinawa was under United States occupation for 27 years. They still host American military bases to this day, so there’s quite a bit of influence and drama, but more on that in future shorts. I checked into my hotel after lunch and knocked out for 3 hours. For dinner, we walked through some alleys filled with pubs and settled on a random spot. They served the most fresh seafood, and all the other dishes were just as yummy. I got shiquasa juice to cool off. It’s a kind of lime that’s grown in Okinawa and Taiwan. And that was my day.
