[Music] [Applause] [Music] Hello everyone. Welcome to the wonderful Japan channel. Today my sister and I are in Inyama in Ai Prefecture and we’ve brought our gheta that we made last time because just down the road there is a yucata rental shop. So we are going to rent some gorgeous yucata and wear them with our gheta down the beautiful streets of Iniyama to immerse ourselves in the old Japanese city atmosphere. History lives on in Inuyama City, home to Japan’s oldest castle and national treasure, Inuyama Castle, and so much more. In the castle city, you can wander the old Edeto streets frozen in time while enjoying modern delights like fancy gourmet skewers. Goat. Goat. Come with us today on a stroll around these charming streets. Cuz I got my red. And here we are at the Yucata rental shop. Are you excited, Tay? Very. Yeah. What kind of Yucata do you want to try on today? I do like red. So maybe red. Yeah, I can see that. I can see that. But we’ll see what they’ve got. What about you? Let’s see. Well, I’ve got some dark colors. Maybe a dark yucata. A cool Yucata. Yeah, a cool looking one. But we’ll see when we get in there. So, let’s head on in. I don’t know. Here at Inyama Kumachi, they offer a huge selection of kimonos and obi in all kinds of patterns and colors. If you’re unsure what to pick, the staff will help you put together the perfect look. Whether you prefer a traditional style or something more modern. What plants? What flower is this? They even offer plans that include hair styling to suit your style as well as a variety of accessories like traditional bags and hair pieces. Oh, that one’s got butterflies. Time to get dressed. Let’s go. [Music] What do you think? Do they suit us? Mashed them with our [Music] What do you think, Taye? What do you like about yours? I love the Orbee. It’s so pretty. I love how they folded it and they added this detail. Oh, it’s gorgeous. The color coordination so nice. What do you like most about this? Oh, I love this obi. This gradient here with the blue and the white. And actually, it’s got seashells all over it. And of course, I love orange. All right, let’s go for a walk. Let’s go. [Music] The Inyama Castle town has remained mostly unchanged since the Edeto period, over 200 years ago. Walking the streets, you’ll pass many buildings that have been standing since the Edeto and Shore eras. [Music] I’m looking. [Music] So, we’re back here in front of Sanko Inari Shrine because we heard you can ride on a rick shaw here. So, let’s go. Japanese rick shores typically have two wheels like this one and are pulled by a rickshaw puller who guides you around the town. We signed up at the reception area and hopped on for a ride. [Music] We’re on a rickshaw in our youth. Aren’t we so cute? Yes. [Music] Wow. Isn’t that beautiful? Look at that scenery. The shrines. Yeah. Going to ride through the shrines. Wonder where we’re going to go. Oh, we’re going down the street. Very cool. Aren’t these streets so cute? Oh, those are pretty scary. Oh, they’re Oh, that building is cool. That is It’s very jibly like. Yeah. Wow. Look how cute this street is. I really love like I don’t think I’ve ever seen another country that has preserved so much of its architecture like this. But how many countries have you been to? True. [Music] But the Japanese these beautiful buildings, they are gorgeous. Like even this road here, there’s the old one on the right and the new building on the left. I like Wow. Yeah. the the castle. Yeah, you can see the castle and we can see the street. Yeah. Wow, that’s really pretty. That’s gorgeous. Oh my god. I might have to get a photo of that. Get a photo. Get a photo on the back of a rick shaw. Yeah. On a rick shaw through an old Japanese street in the castle in the background. [Music] Like even there’s like all the old wood buildings. It’s beautiful. Look at that. Stunning. Like you can see where the stain is like sort of coming off a little bit. And yeah, it’s beautiful. It’s also really so much beautiful nature too around here. I love I love seeing so many trees in a city. That’s not something you get a lot in Australia where we’re from. I guess cuz it’s much drier in Australia. But it’s so beautiful. It’s such a nice weather today, too. We’ll be able to see the castle in just a moment. There’s just a building in the waist at the moment. Yeah. [Applause] [Music] So in there he was saying that little matcha shop, the inside of it, the interior was designed and it was inspired by Rapunzel. Oh, cute. Like the Disney movie Rapunzel. So it’s uh it’s known as a little photo spot cuz it’s very fancy and very pretty. We might have to go in there later. Yeah, he recommends if we have time. M I definitely want to go. Yes. [Music] And our 15 minutes is up. Didn’t feel like 15 minutes. It felt like five. It was really fun, wasn’t it? Yes. How was it? It was really, really fun. It was really beautiful as well. I was gorgeous. You have the gorgeous view of the city and having uh Inuyama Castle in the background. It was absolutely gorgeous. Especially when we’re coming up that road towards the end when we could see the castle in the distance with that beautiful street. Oh, it was so pretty. Absolutely gorgeous. I kept getting distracted by the food though. Yeah. The guy was saying our rickshaw rick shaw guy was saying uh all the food here is delicious. Yeah. Yeah. Did you understand what what he said? A little bit. He recommended when I asked him what he recommended, he said he recommended everything. Yeah. So, I guess we’re going to have to go back down that street and try everything. Let’s go. Our first snack for today, fruit candy. Let’s go. We are at kam no money. This is the shop our rick shaw puller recommended. See on this one. They sell classic sweets and drinks like candied fruit and puddings that match the oldtimey charm of the castle town perfectly. Oh, you say it so fast. We chose candied strawberry grape skewers. [Music] This is the popular photo spot that our rick shaw puller told us about. The lanterns reflected in the mirrored walls creates a beautiful, fantastical atmosphere. Mine’s the blue one. Here goes the red one. [Music] Cheers. Cheers. [Music] Cold. [Applause] [Music] It’s so cold. That’s so good. Oh, mine’s a little sour. Oh, I love the sour ones. Mine was really sweet. M. That’s really good, though. Oh, cold green. Mhm. Got some good candy. Is the grape going to be as cold? The grape is so good. It’s not as cold. Well, mine wasn’t. [Music] That’s good. Really good. That’s really juicy. Mhm. Super juicy. Got a little marshmallow at the bottom. I like this one. It looks like a heart. M. Yeah, the marshmallow. Oh, this here. My strawberry looks like a heart. Oh, cute. There’s a little heart chap strawberry. Okay, I’m scared. It is cold. We wanted to eat more, but unfortunately we ran out of time and had to return the yucata. So, how was our walk around Iniyama today? It was fantastic. Yeah. Wearing your cute little Yucata. It was really fun and really uh pretty. Yeah. It’s your first time wearing a yukata in in Japan, right? Yes. Yeah. Around the streets. Yes. And with our ghetto, which How are they? How are your feet? Oh, so comfortable. Right. Well, I love these Geta. I want to wear them home. But now we have to go return these. We have to go give them back. Oh, and that rickshaw ride as well. Beautiful. That man was so lovely riding in a rickshaw in a Yucata. I don’t want to give it back. I love it so much. But we have to go and give it back now. So, it’s time for us to go. Thank you for watching to the end of this video. See you next time. Bye. [Music] [Music]
