Is Japan really Expensive?

¥0 in Japan? Yep, here’s a list of things you can do without spending a single yen 🆓🇯🇵

Day 28/90
Hi, we’re Sagar and Ami, currently on a 90-day challenge to figure out what we really want from life. We’re traveling full-time, creating content, and doing everything we can to avoid going back to the 9–5 grind.

🚸 Shibuya Crossing View
Forget the overpriced Starbucks hack. Head to Shibuya Scramble Square, take the elevator to the 12th floor, and enjoy the crossing view for ¥0.
💧 Free Water
Download the mymizu app, it shows refill spots all over Japan. Tap water is safe to drink, and parks usually have fountains. Skip the bottled water and refill as you go.
♨️ Onsen & Shrines
Some public footpaths (like in Sakurajima) are totally free. In Tokyo? Visit Meiji Jingu, Senso-ji, and other temples, no entry fees.
📶 Free Wi-Fi
You’ll want an eSIM (we used @airalocom ), but Japan is surprisingly Wi-Fi-friendly, even on ferries! Just use a VPN like @surfshark to stay secure.
🌆 City Views
Want a skyline shot for ¥0? Go to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, observation decks are free, and the whole area is stunning even without going up.
Send this to a friend who needs a ¥0 Japan guide 💸
