Ep 26: Porta Street Kyoto Station Food Tour | Cheap & Tasty Kyoto Eats #tkyototravel #kyototrip

Hello friends, welcome to another video. Kyoto station for phototo means food. It’s actually a fantastic place to eat. Kyoto station is more than just a transit hub. It’s packed with famous restaurants, casual eats, and souvenir suites. Korto dining street is located at underground level. Porter area. It’s part of the Kyoto Porter underground shopping mall directly connected to Kyoto station. Here there are more than 30 restaurants which serves food in the price range 800 to 1,800 yen. Here you can find a good mix of Kyoto local specialties like sushi, udon, katsudon, tempura, Japanese comfort foods, and westernstyle cafes. In the video, you can see some of the chicken and seafood dishes that I ate during my Kyoto trip. I tried seafood okonamiyaki. It is a delicious version of the classic Japanese savory pancake packed with seafood ingredients. Okonomyaki translates roughly to grill as you like it and seafood toppings are among the most popular choices especially in areas like Osaka and Hiroshima and you can also find it in Kyoto. Batter made from flour, eggs, dashi, Japanese soup stock and shredded cabbage. Yamay Moore, Japanese mountain yam is often added for extra fluffiness. I will recommend this as a mustry food. [Music] Japanese chicken karagi lunch is a classic comfort meal. Crispy, juicy fried chicken served with simple sides popular in homes, restaurants, and bento shops across Japan. Udon noodles in chicken broth is a comforting and mildly flavored dish, though it’s less common than the typical dashy based idon. Hope this video was useful. Thank you for your time.
