๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿœ Ichiran Kyoto Ramen Review | Best Ramen in Kyoto? Honest 2025 Japan Travel Food Vlog

Ichiwan restaurant in Kyoto is an introverts paradise. So when you first go in, you can choose what you want to eat on the main screen and then you pay. You’re then handed the sheets where you can actually pick like the specific preferences of the meal that you’ve ordered and you’re led down a walkway into your private booth. These boos are so cute. They’re actually like the little office foods that you have at work. You then have to choose your preferences for your meal as far as, you know, flavor, richness, spiciness. They have a very helpful circle around most popular choices, which really helped me because I had no idea what to choose. Once you’re ready, press the little button and they’ll raise the screen and take your order. I must say, it did feel quite weird to me to not be able to see their faces, though. These wooden calling cards were so unique and really, really cool. They were in Japanese and English, and they allow you to communicate with the server about how you’re feeling or if you need anything, and you just literally don’t even need to talk to anybody. If you decide that you actually want to add any extras, like mushrooms for example, I’m a mushroom freak, then you can get this little card and once again, press this little light in front of you and the little sheet gets lifted and they take your order to add it to your meal. You do have to pay in cash for the additional parts of your order there, though. I ordered a Coca-Cola because it really needed some refreshments. But I love the way they give you everything really kind of guarded with the gloves, too. So, those are my mushrooms. That was my Coca-Cola. And my meal actually came really quickly after that. The ramen came and the egg came and it was actually so delicious. So, I was trying to be all ladylike and demure and then I found out that the louder you slurp your noodles in Japan, the better because it actually shows an appreciation to the chef. When you’re finished, you can press your lights and the server will come and take your bowl and you’re ready to go. Don’t forget on your way out, grab yourself some of the famous Ichan noodles for at home. [Music]
