#FirstOneHereDelhi’s beloved Harajuku Tokyo Café is now in Mumbai, and we got the first look!
Is there ever enough of Japanese is the question. Welcome to Harajuku Tokyo Cafe BKC Travel and Leisure India and South Asia. You’re the first one here. So finally you’ve brought Harajuku to Mumbai. Can you tell us a little bit about your vision and then take me through these amazing dishes on the table? So ever since we opened in Delhi, the dream was always to bring Harajuku to Mumbai next. And here we are 4 years later in a much better and bigger avatar of Harajuku. Going forward, I am looking at about 15 to 20 outlets across Mumbai in the next year or so. And we’re looking at 90 outlets across the country in the next 3 years. The chicken gyoza, that’s a goay, that’s a avocado cream cheese roll, that’s a rainbow roll, salmon nigiri, and prawn tempura. Tell me a little bit about your journey in Japan. I brought two chefs from Japan during my travel to Japan. I traveled across Kyoto, Tokyo, Saka, a lot of other Japanese cities with these chefs trying out all the bakes, all the food, and we’ve pivoted from a bakery with four dishes on the menu to a full service Japanese casual line, Fine restaurant as we may call it, and we were one of the first few Japanese bakeries in the country. Everything that you touch, everything that you eat, everything that you see is all supposed to be very soft, very fresh, and very unique. We want to showcase you and we want you to remember your trip to Japan by visiting all our different outlets.
Inspired by founder Gaurav Kanwar’s travel to Japan, explore the district of Shibuya showcased through this new outlet—along with Japanese comfort food, pop culture, playfulness, and design-led storytelling.
