One Young World Summit will be hosted in Tokyo, marking the first time Japan has held the event.

Business Events Tokyo announced that the capital had secured the bid for the 2027 edition, with the event taking place from 28 September to 1 October at the Tokyo International Forum. It has been held once before in Asia, with Bangkok hosting the 2015 edition.

One Young World is the largest global network of young people who are making positive change across communities and businesses. The 2027 event is expected to attract more than 2,000 young leaders from over 190 countries around the world. Delegates will engage in debating, formulating, and sharing innovative solutions for today’s most pressing issues, together with some of the world’s most respected and innovative global leaders.

Kate Robertson, co-founder at One Young World, said: “We are thrilled to be bringing the One Young World Summit to Tokyo in 2027. Tokyo stands as a beacon of global leadership, innovation, and cultural depth, and it is a city that shares our belief in the power of young people to shape a better future. The Summit will be one of the most international gatherings Japan has hosted in recent years, and a powerful opportunity to connect the next generation of leaders with the companies and institutions ready to back their vision.”

Osaka Business Events has also announced that the Corporate Games will be returning to Japan for the first time in six years. The event, a global sports festival that has been held in over 85 cities across 37 countries, with more than one million participants to date, will take place on 11 October. In Japan, it has previously been held in Tokyo, Osaka, and Okinawa.

The event, which highlights corporate health management, employee welfare, team building, communication, and regional revitalization, will feature 11 different sports: full relay marathon, half relay marathon, futsal, baseball, 3×3 basketball, dodgeball, tug-of-war, jump rope, table tennis, and boccia.
