Singapore-based coffee brand Alchemist has entered Japan with the opening of its first two international stores in Tokyo, marking its debut beyond Singapore.
The new locations are in Aoyama and Asakusa. The Aoyama store covers 140sqm and has 30 seats, while the Asakusa branch spans 200sqm with 70 seats. Both feature Alchemist’s minimalist design and serve coffee brewed with beans roasted in Singapore.
“We’ve always admired Japan’s deep-rooted coffee culture and attention to detail,” said Will Leow, founder of Alchemist.
“Our mission has always been to create a moment of connection over coffee. Expanding into Tokyo felt like a natural step forward for us, and we’re humbled by the warm reception from the local community. We are excited to share our vision with coffee lovers in Japan – a country that already has such a deep and refined appreciation for quality and craft”.
Founded in 2016 by barista and entrepreneur Will Leow, Alchemist began as a small coffee stand in Singapore’s CBD. It has since grown to 11 locations across the city-state.
The company plans to open 10 more stores across Tokyo by the end of 2028 as part of its long-term expansion strategy.
