Racing down country roads on a Honda Super Cub 50
Finally, I was ready to ride on my grandfather’s Honda Super Cub 50 bike and head to Fukushima. The trip is a 9 day cycling trip, staying at campsites in Niigata and Fukushima. Take Route 55 towards Kamo. Honda Super Cub 50 Honda will cease production of the Super Cub 50, along with other 50cc and under models, in May 2025, due to stricter emissions regulations and declining sales. It’s a 1997 Super Cub, and because I like the wabi-sabi aesthetic, I’ve left it as is, so it looks quite old-fashioned. I was a little nervous about riding it on a 1000km trip. Continue straight on Line 55 I am heading to Tagami Town, with plans to ultimately camp in Aga. So far so good riding the super cub 50 and I am feeling so good with my grandpa. This one isn’t very fast though lol I installed a box in the back for storing my tent and gears. ONE STEP Motorcycle Rear Box(6000 yen by Amazon) Surprisingly, this doesn’t take up much luggage. But it has a key to lock. Tmount’s Tent. It was 7000 yen at Amazon. Actually it was a great tent, so I highly recommend for a solo traveling. I actually got lost, but I think it would be easy to get to Fukushima if I headed East! As you drive through Niigata, the roads are lined with idyllic views of rice fields. Niigata Prefecture is indeed known as Japan’s number one rice-producing region, according to THE NIIGATA. It consistently ranks first in terms of rice acreage and harvest volume in Japan. Towards Tsukigata This time, I was staying at a free campsite, so just spent about 20,000 yen for 9 days including all cost. Let me know if you want to know the information of camping sites. Continue straight until passing Route 8. 50cc are safe to drive, and this Super Cub is a good mileage. I filled up the gas was about 300 yen a day. To Tsukigata Bridge. This video was a riding from Iwamuro to Tsukigata. Next time, I will post a video about Aga, Niigata.
