Nagasaki: Private Kunchi Festival, VIP Stadium Tour & Peace Memorial Park | Japan Cruise Day 7

Welcome to Explore Travel TV. My name is David and we are in Nagasaki, Japan. Another episode of our honeymoon. Um, today we have a very long day. It’s we have an original special performance by Japanet. It’s a mini kunchi festival, like a dragon festival kind of thing there. Uh, we have the Nagasaki Stadium City Tour. It’s a stadium actually built by um, Japanet. And we have the Peace Memorial Park. Now, this is a park that was dedicated to the Hiroshima or Hiroshima uh bombing. Quick view of our breakfast and then we get off the ship ready to go on this tour. Very long day tour. Uh they all said good morning to us on the way out. This is the greeting that we get when we leave our ship which is pretty cool. Now, we made it to the shrine area. This is the Chinsi Tashia Sua Shrine. I know I messed that up. I am so sorry. I am not good at this. uh pronunciation of the languages. Uh we did have to climb up a lot of steps as you’ve known in a lot of our other videos. There’s always a lot of steps. So, uh they did take some of the people up uh around the outside by vehicle for those that could not climb the steps. Um but I wanted to kind of show you just this cool little uh view of going up the steps and u the other view of of the behind me as well with film with my 360 camera. So, I can get both at the same time, which is pretty cool. Again, this was a special performance. They usually don’t perform this until a different time of year. Um, but Japanet got these people together to actually uh perform this dragon festival with us. Now, we got a chance to um explore the uh shrine a little bit um with the uh this little water thing that they do. a little ritual and so on. So, I’m going to go ahead and just uh shut up here and let you guys enjoy uh the views and and sites of this shrine. [Music] and lower one of your hand to the the first joint like this and then the hands to imaginary lions help you to quit some bad habit or or bad relationship that you would like to you know stop. And uh uh if there’s anything you want to stop, please offer uh 100 yen here and then open the lid. And there’s a string here. And uh you can tie uh one of the strings uh to uh the one of the legs of either of the lion. [Music] Father, no more. [Music] [Music] [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Music] [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] Yeah. Love you. [Music] [Music] Okay, now we’re at the Nagasaki Stadium uh cities, what they call it. This is actually built by uh the Japanese, the people that that hosted this whole cruise. Um and and and I want to turn the camera around and show you our view at uh for lunch here. Um it is the whole stadium, which is really really cool. They built this. They built the stadium and we’re having lunch here now. So, um, we’re going to enjoy it. I’ll let you know what the food looks like. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Hey. [Music] [Music] The Nagasaki Peace Park is a tranquil space that commemorates the atomic bombing of Nagasaki. on August 9th, 1945, which destroyed a significant portion of the city and killed tens of thousands of inhabitants. [Music] The complex is comprised of two parks and a memorial museum. [Music] This was a really beautiful park and a lot of these statues were donated by various people for various reasons. [Music] Welcome. Hello. Welcome. Thank you. Beautiful. Hello. Hello. Thank you. [Music] [Music] [Music] Okay, that was just a fabulous day in Nakasaki. What’ you think? I loved it. It was great. What did you like the best? the historical part. Um at the Sento um p Sento temple that we went to, they did uh like traditional type Sento um expressions with the dragon dance and they had geishes there, music and song all going back centuries in their history. I really love that. Yeah. And it’s actually part of a thing that they do in August and they actually put this together for us with the Japanese tour. They made it uh so they can entertain and perform in front of us just for our cruise people. And I think there were some other kids, maybe some school kids there, too. But um fabulous stuff there. And then we got a chance to see the uh the stadium. Of course, you’ve seen all the videos. We’re just doing a a little caption, little little closing of the the video for the day. You notice we’re in our jammies already. We’re done. We’re so exhausted. We had a nice dinner and stuff, but anyways, but the whole day was really good. A couple things is um you probably want to be mobile, have some mobility, uh being able to walk and have good shoes because there’s a lot of walking on this. Now, we do have a few people that have some mobility challenges and they do try to accommodate them as best as possible. One with a wheelchair, one with a cane. There’s elevators pretty much everywhere except for sometimes the the the the like the the shrine area that we went to had had a lot of stairs, but I think they went into a back way. They put them in a car and went up even closer. So yeah, this this shrine/te temple was a lot different than the one that we went to at the very first day of our land excursions. There’s no way anybody with mobility issues could have got up there without being hand carried. Exactly. So um be careful. And at that point too during that one, they actually had other um excursions available as well, I think, that people can go to that that might not need that. But um this is just some some tips is you know good walking shoes uh is definitely nice to have um hats and and we don’t know if it’s going to rain or if it’s going to be sunshine. We are burnt because the it was cloudy for a little while. It was cloudy. We’re getting that UV burns, you know, and then the sun came out and we were cooking. So um keep nice little burn. Yeah. So keep another pro tip. Keep some sunscreen in your backpack no matter what the weather says. We did not do it. So, this is a tip for you and this is for our next We still have a long ways to go. I know. We’ve got so many days left and it feels like we’ve been here like two weeks already. I know. We have a long ways to go. So, we we keep bug spray and uh and we’re going to keep the the suntan lotion in there. And also, we have some little portable fans. Uh maybe I’ll show you tomorrow some more for some of our tips of some of the things that we bring with us uh to kind of make things a little bit easier. But had a great dinner at the main dining room today. And um and we want to show you too is well this was the um the stadium. They gave us this VIP tour as you saw in the video. Um kind of the real behind the scenes tour of the stadium. A brand new stadium. It looks awesome. Um but we also had a little time to do some shopping. Um we went to a little grocery store and uh and we bought some snacks. We bought some candies. Yeah, candies and little chews and things like that. And we’re probably going to do a video maybe when we get home trying this. Oh, this is the glittery sparkly one. and the Kiraafua gummy. Yeah. And it has little sparkle sprinkles all over it. All kinds of stuff. So, I I think we’re going to save these and do them when we get home and just do a Japanese candy tasting uh video. So, uh don’t forget to subscribe and like this video uh so you can follow along with our the rest of our journey. We’ve got a long way still to go. Uh and then of course when we get home, we’re going to we’re going to do these kind of things here. Um eat our noodles from the other day. Our cup of noodles. Oh, yeah. And our cup of noodles. So, if you haven’t seen that, we went to the cup of noodles um uh museum and we actually got a chance to make our own cup of noodles, which is pretty cool. So, um anyways, I hope you enjoyed this day uh watching it from video. If this is something that’s interested you guys, if you want to do this kind of trip, contact us. I’ll leave my information down below. We do own a travel agency and we can book you on this trip. There’s only only three dates that they’re charter. This is a charter and it’s very exclusive. There’s only three dates next year in 2026 and it’s like March and April. There’s a couple different routes. I can give you the information on that. Um, and it’s again it’s a very exclusive and uh all-incclusive really. We haven’t had to pay for much other than snacks and an occasional drink at one of the restaurants, but otherwise we are getting spoiled. Her first cruise, she’s spoiled. The bar is set really high for me right now. Yeah. So, I think anytime other cruises we’re going to do on, she’s going to really see the difference of what it’s like and but we’re very grateful. No Carnival cruises for me, please. Probably not. Probably not. Yeah, I’ve been on a few. She’s heard the rumors. Um, but anyways, this has been a fantastic cruise. So, uh, anyways, that’s it. We’re going to bed. So, uh, remember, life is short, so live it and travel more. See you guys tomorrow. Good night. Okay. Bye.
