Why I Still Choose Hyatt (After 300+ Hotel Nights & 10+ Brands Tried)

I’ve spent over 300 nights across luxury boutique and business hotels, but one brand kept surprising me and it wasn’t the one I expected. Here’s why Haya is still my top choice and five states that truly remind me what hospitality should feel like. If you care about points, perks, or just great travel value, stick around. I have been a Hayatt globalist for years and also been a Marriott titanium just one night shy of ambassador. So when I say I’ve seen the good, the bad, and the truly forgettable, I mean it. But Hayatt has consistently surprised me. And here is why. First hire treats loyal guest like loyal guest. In my case, two out of three stays get upgraded to a suite, sometimes a villa, even for longer bookings like four or five nights per stay. And even when there’s no suit at checking, I’ve had them upgrade me stay as soon as one becomes available. It feels like they are trying and that alone set them apart. As a former Marriott Titanium, sweets upgrade were rare to me and I often had to choose between breakfast and points as a welcome gift which always felt like a tradeoff at a level where you hope to get both. Second, the consistent quality. I’ve stayed in higher place house regency park hayas across the world and honestly 99% of time I feel safe booking blind clean wellround and open better than expected also shout out to the globalist concage they have helped me use upgrades sort out requested and answer questions way faster than I expected and third the food. After staying at so many different Hayatts around the world, I have rarely been disappointed by the food. From Indonesian dishes in Jakarta to a Mexican western fusion breakfast in Mexico City to traditional Japanese breakfast in Japan and the Cantonese dim sam in China. Breakfast has honestly become one of the things I look forward to at Hayatt. And I also love that at Hyatt they just know when your breakfast is complimentary. No awkward signing, no questions. It’s seamless and it makes a difference. But of course, no brand is perfect. Hayatt’s biggest problem, in my opinion, there are just not enough of them. Most properties are in big cities, which means when I want to explore smaller towns or offbeat places, I’m often stuck choosing between loyalty or adventure. Honestly, it sometimes feels like being held hostage by a brand. Hayatt acquire Mr. and Mr. Smith, a collection of luxury and boutique hotels. Yes, it gives more options, but most of those stays don’t honor global list perks and the price are usually higher. Aside from earning points at night, there’s no added value unless there’s a specific motion. I rarely book them. The value just isn’t quite there. So, which Hayatt Hotel actually made me want to come back? Here are five that really stood out, plus a couple of bonus mentioned at the end. I went in higher regency Wahing with no expectations but left wanting to return and I did return. My upgraded sweet came up with a larger private garden that opened directly into the swim out pool. It feels like my own hidden retreat. The spa was incredible. Not just the treatments, but the building itself. It’s beautifully designed and truly stand out. The beachfront was long and quiet and the daily activities surprised me. Swimming, archery, tennis, yoga, and even water arerobotics. I was very busy every day. It really felt like a full resort experience without the price tag of one. The Regency Club was solid, the food was delicious, and the staff absolutely fantastic. Grand Haya Hong Kong is a classic and still one of my top picks. Perfect winter location and seven restaurant on site. I didn’t film my stay at the hotel. Back then, I wasn’t planning to make videos, but their website has excellent room videos which I’ve used here. If you stay here, definitely book a harbor facing room. The views of Victoria Harbor are stunning. I stayed a bit longer and they sent me fresh fruit plates every day. Little things, big impression. And the food, probably the best I have had at a Chen hotel. Grand Haya Kwaming was opened in August 2024 and it shows beautiful finished deep red and gold tones and a modern yet warm design. I especially love the suite. It feels thoughtfully designed and genuinely elegant. There was a small ceramic mo planter on the table. Such a charming touch. The bathroom was done in marble with a large socking top that’s honestly rare to see at this size. The sweets were special and the service was confident but no ste. and the Yunan inspired dishes in the restaurant and the club was surprisingly refined. I’m really rooting for this property to do well. Hayatt Regency Yoga is a hidden gem. The hotel has about 30 years old history with strong Japanese design elements and is one of the best value Hayatt I have found. Old school charmed, massive garden grounds and a strong sense of place. Staff remember our breakfast drinks that says everything. Also, you have tennis, golf, swimming, a lots of things to do there. You won’t get bored. While I was there, they were renovating some rooms. Those are now finished. Great for earning nights, relaxing, and feel truly welcomed. Let’s just said if you like beach round you will love Park Hayatt Abu Dhabi. The sand was white, the sky was clear and the vibe was peaceful without being boring. The biggest surprise I was unexpectedly upgraded to a one-bedroom villa. It was huge and beautifully designed. The soft white and pale blue interiors feel like an extension of the beach and the sky outside. There was a private pool, an outdoor shower, even a small pantry. I genuinely wished I could have stay a few more days. And as always with Park Hayatt, the food was excellent. Expensive, yes. Worth it also? Yes. It was a truly memorable stay. I have also had amazing stays at Hayatt Regency Bali, Secret Akumo in Mexico and Fuji Speedway Hotel in Japan. Each has its own vibe. I’ve done four videos on all of them and I will link those below if you are curious. In the end, luxury is great, but what I value is the balance between experience and value. You don’t always need to spend a fortune to feel truly looked after. As a longtime Hayatt globalist, I’ve rarely been disappointed. That’s why Hayatt is still my go-to no matter where I travel.
