Tokyo Walking Tour 4K HDR: Asakusa ➡️ Skytree ➡️ Tokyo’s Famous Temple 🇯🇵
Today we are going in Tokyo from Asakusa to the Tokyo Skytree in Sumida. And then back to Asakusa to Sensō-ji Temple.. A walk from Asakusa to the Skytree takes less than 30 minutes Oh we’re in luck, this is the ship “Himiko”, the first futuristic ship created by anime master Leiji Matsumoto. The ship sails from the Azuma-bashi Bridge in Asakusa across the Odaiba Marine Park to Toyosu. A boat trip to Odaiba in less than an hour is definitely worth it. The Tokyo Skytree welcomes us. We now have the tower firmly in sight and will be there soon. Due to its size it is close, but there are still 20 minutes to walk. Dear Skytree, I’m coming to visit you. I took a detour, you can get there even faster. Just to make the video longer. 😉 We have finally arrived. A beautiful sight during Golden Week. Unfortunately it was very cloudy. But the view of Tokyo is still impressive. Let’s go for a walk, because there’s more to see here. Let’s go to TOKYO Solamachi. Tokyo Solamachi (lit. “Tokyo Sky Town”) is the large shopping, dining and entertainment complex at the base of the Tokyo Skytree. Due to the Golden Week, there is a small event. Many events take place here, e.g. a Christmas market in December Let’s take a break. Let’s take a few minutes to watch the hustle and bustle in front of the west entrance. These colorful streamers are shaped like carp, symbolizing strength, courage, and prosperity. Families fly koinobori to wish their children a happy, healthy, and strong future. Let us now go back to Asakusa by a different route. What is this? A ship or not? This is the building of the Asahi Brewery in Asakusa. It is known for the Asahi Flame, a huge golden structure at the top, said to represent both the burning heart of Asahi beer and a frothy head. Many shops in front of the temple offer delicious food. Or buy souvenirs to remind you of your visit. We see the inner gate of Senso-ji Temple, the Hozomon Gate. The Hozomon is known for its giant red lantern and statues of two guardian deities. Have your future predicted by drawing an omikuji, a lucky card. You shake a box of chopsticks, draw a numbered stick, and then receive a card with a prediction. At the entrance to the temple area there is a Chozuya, a traditional purification fountain. This well is used to perform ritual hand and mouth cleansing before entering the temple. A travel tip: go to the temple in the evening. It’s not so busy and everything is beautifully lit. Watch a video on this channel to experience the temple at night. Thank you very much for watching.
