WELCOME TO SHIZUOKA!: Modeling History – Dig More Japan
This beautifully constructed wooden model is a reproduction of Kyoto’s Kiom Mizua Temple, a registered world heritage site. Norio founded the company that produced this amazing model. [Music] This model of Shizoka’s Sumpu Castle is the work he’s most proud of. Built by Shogun Tokugawa, it was demolished in the 19th century. With few records remaining, recreating it in model form was extremely difficult. Tsunaki developed the model with the help of Shibata Sami. She studied the limited available diagrams from every angle [Music] to refine the castle’s design. This is the result of their hard work. [Music] [Music] The model designer is also responsible for making the assembly instructions. That’s great.
