Starting in Beppu on private car, drive over the mountains to lake Shidaka where you can feed the Swans and the fish, then off to Yufuin to walk around the traditional Japanese village and have lunch, in the afternoon relax in one of the many Onsen of the Onsen prefecture or chose your own itinerary 😉

I am a retired Ex-pat and have been living in the city of Beppu for 5 years. I Enjoy showing visitors of Japan around Beppu and the beautiful nature the city holds. I especially like to take people to all those places you wouldn’t have the chance to go on your basic tours. In Japan it is a smart choice to travel around with someone who has great knowledge of the area and also be able to communicate with. I speak fluent English and enough Japanese to get myself around. I have a brand new Toyota Roomie which is suitable for up to 3 people and I’m more than happy to have children on-board.

I personally think that it’s always a shame when visitors come to explore Japan and only visit the main tourist attractions when there are so many hidden beautiful places all around, especially in Beppu. The country side always holds the most beautiful natural landscapes that you would only get the chance to see in Japan yet a lot of it is unseen and undiscovered by tourists. My purpose is to be able to show around people who come to visit Japan all the amazing hidden places the city of Beppu has to give.
