The Ultimate Star Wars Fan Trip to Japan | Ray-Ban Meta Travel Vlog
Come with me to Japan. I recently flew across the world to attend Star Wars Celebration and demo the new Star Wars VR game Beyond Victory on the Metaquest. This was such a cool opportunity. I have always dreamed of visiting Japan and as someone who has been a pretty big Star Wars fan for most of my life and went to Celebration Orlando in 2017. Coming back as a content creator made it all the more special. Now, I filmed almost the entire trip using my Ray-B band Meta glasses. If you don’t have a pair, I highly recommend them. The flight to Japan was long and filled with mushrooms. Now, I’m a vegetarian, and for some reason, they think all vegetarians want are mushrooms. I’m not sure how or why mushrooms became a meat replacement. They don’t even have protein. They’re slimy and gross, and y’all need to stop forcing mushrooms on vegetarians. Anyway, finally arrived in Tokyo late at night. Before hitting celebration, I took the bullet train to Kyoto, getting a glimpse of Mount Fuji on the way. Kyoto was definitely the highlight of my trip. I did a lot of walking, but also used the Kyoto metro to get around, which is actually one of the most punctual train systems in the world. It was always right on time. One of the first things I did was check out the Ki Mizu Dera Temple. There were 10 jillion freaking people there and a million stairs, but it was stunning and well worth it. I then got to attend a traditional tea ceremony where they dress you up in a kimono and teach you the proper way to make and drink matcha. My wrist nearly gave out from all the whisking, but honestly, it was such a cool experience. and the gardens where the ceremony was held were absolutely beautiful. It was definitely a highlight of the trip. I then went to check out a peaceful little walk called the Philosophers’s Path. It was very serene, very beautiful. Then it was time to head to the Fushimi Inari Shrine. This is one of Kyoto’s most visited spots and it definitely felt like it. So, I took a quiet detour through a bamboo forest to escape the crowds. I wasn’t able to reach the top before sunset. However, I did get to walk through the iconic red gates. I woke up early the next morning as it was my last day in Kyoto in my heart. Unfortunately, I could not find a gym, so I had to improvise using bamboo. Then, because I am a huge moss fan, I headed to Saiji Moss Temple. I started with a suja tracing, very peaceful. Then, I wandered into the garden and entered a full state of spiritual ecstasy over the moss. After reaching Moss Nirvana, I stopped at a tiny sober shop nearby, apparently one of the oldest in Japan. It was run by the sweetest older lady who didn’t speak any English but was very enthusiastic about sharing the history of the place. It ended up being my favorite place I ate on the trip. Then it was time for some more hiking. I took in the views including Remy Malik and then headed off to the next destination. The next place I went was a little known garden that I heard was great for seeing cherry blossoms. I was amazed by all the colors and the lushness of the flowers. This was definitely one of the most beautiful places I went in Japan. And I also to try some strawberry mochi which was super yummy. My final stop in Kyoto was the Studio Gibli shop. I absolutely love Studio Gibli, so it was super cool and I love that they were playing the Todoro theme song. I then took the train back to Tokyo and was met with a pretty cool view from my hotel. I walked around Tokyo and tried some of the famous claw machines with zero luck. This might shock you all to hear, but I think they might be rigged. The next morning, I checked out Team Lab Borderless, which is an insanely cool digital art museum. It had so many cool and unique rooms that photo and video just can’t really do justice. I would highly recommend it if you ever find yourself in Tokyo. Then, of course, I had to get some ramen. So, I went to one of the ramen spots where you sit in your own little booth so you can be antisocial and eat in total peace. Honestly, it is an introvert’s dream. Then, I went to this really cool place called Cafe Reissue. They do custom 3D latte arts, so I had them make my Otterly logo and it turned out so good. I absolutely loved it. Then, it was time for what I came to Japan for, Star Wars Celebration. I was ushered into a private demo booth to try out the upcoming Star Wars VR game, Beyond Victory. After a brief intro to the game, I put on the headset and was transported to a galaxy far, far away. This Star Wars game is unique in that it combines both VR and mixed reality. The VR was impressive with great attention to detail and on par with the previous ILMX Lab Star Wars games. Then I got to do the pod racing in mixed reality, so I could see my surroundings while racing my pod. The pod racing was definitely challenging at first. You have to have very quick reaction times, but I do love a good challenge. Overall, it was a super cool experience and definitely a dream come true for a Star Wars fan. I’m excited to play the game in its entirety when it comes out. The next day, I went to Hitachi Seaside Park to be one with nature. So did everyone else. There were approximately a trillion people there. But honestly, it still blew me away. Endless fields of bloom flowers, tulip gardens. It was like stepping into a Windows wallpaper if that wallpaper had a crowd control problem. On my last day, of course, I had to stop by the Tokyo Nintendo store. It was a really fun spot to explore and the giant Mewtwo statue was super cool. The final thing I did in Tokyo was head to Tokyo Dome City and hit the amusement park there. The roller coaster is insane. It hits 80 mph and has a stunning view of the city. I went on multiple times. Sadly, they wouldn’t let me record in my Ray-B band meta glasses. They probably would have flown right off. Then I went on a log poop style ride and naturally got completely soaked at the end. And finally, I hit the ferris wheel. This ferris wheel had karaoke, which I think all ferris wheels should have. This ferris wheel has ruined all other ferris wheels for me. I sang Selen Deion and obviously absolutely crushed it. [Music] In my life is always [Music] this trip was honestly incredible and I already can’t wait to come back to Japan someday. I’m super grateful to my Rayban Metag Glasses for letting me capture so much without pulling me out of the moment. If you’re interested in checking them out, I’ve dropped my affili below. And please do use it if you can because I accidentally dropped my favorite pair in the pool and uh would really love to replace them. Thank you all so much for watching and supporting. It really means a lot. Hope you all have an utterly awesome day. [Music]

Great Leia themed outfit. I went to the Star Wars Celebrations that hit while the prequels came out. Got to meet Carrie Fisher without waiting in line for an autograph because I managed to catch her in the hall while she was going back and forth from the bathrooms.
Woooooooo
0:42 I feel your pain. On the dietary spectrum, I'm still an omnivore, but hang out as much as I can between vegetarian and vegan. Wild caught salmon, free range eggs, and no sugar yogurt are pretty much my only animal protein I still eat, everything else is plant based.
love the backpack
This is GOLD Otter!!! Seriously, its awesome seeing the world through your eyes! This is like a bucket list trip for me ❤
Also, You have a beautiful singing voice 😆 #mossgirlsummer
Wow, the trip of a lifetime, you showed me things in your video I've never seen in other Japan blogs before, I really loved those little signs you can show to the restaurant staff so you don't have to worry about them understanding what you are saying. Also, I'm not vegan but even I love mushrooms 😁
マジか!!
Other YouTubers make long series out of their travel videos, so why did you choose to make your videos compact?
I love the natural wholesomeness of this video. No influencer type portrayal. Just you being you. Great job. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
So jealous! I want to visit Japan so badly.
Looks like you had fun, can't wait to see the new Star Wars VR game.
AWESOME! It was nice bumping into you on the plane. Small world! Yes Totoro theme song <3

Hey Otter just wanted to ask your opinion on the HTC VIVE PRO 2 headset was just out today looking at it. I would really value you opinion of them cause of how much VR you play. And your trip to Japan looked awesome please come to Australia New south Wales someday I'll be you tour guide lol.
I have celiac and so usually any gluten free meal is seafood. I hate seafood, unless it was some free range beef that feel in the ocean.
Great video and I loved seeing all the temples and woodland areas in Japan. Beautiful. And, oh, the moss is cool too! 😉
The backpack alone earns my 👍
Nice to see the dancing otter in the wild!
