Tourist Mode Activated! Exploring Tokyo Like a First-Timer
good morning chase the traveler in Tokyo I feel like a tourist and I’m a little surprised at what Tokyo is like I mean I’ve always considered Tokyo to be similar to Osaka and the kai area but I’m kind of feeling it’s a little different definitely more [Music] lively you most certainly have way more foreigners the atmosphere is most certainly different I mean I’m in an area called Shinjuku just walking around and I can honestly say [Music] that at least this this area you don’t or I don’t [Music] feel like people notice me as much or that I’m kind of like a foreigner but of course I am I see a lot of foreigners over here so I guess people don’t really think about it as much as they would in Osaka or Kobe but I definitely feel it’s a little crowded wherever I go but knowing what I know about Japan I’m pretty sure if I just take the Subway or the train an hour out of here and things will get back to normal it’ll get back to like the Japan that I know now of course I would say that Tokyo is the kind of place where if you’re young you definitely want to come and have a look but I would still say [Music] that I don’t think that I would want to live here I mean temporarily yes permanently no and I’m kind of happy that I didn’t come to Tokyo at the beginning to live I’m really happy that I went to Osaka a little smaller according to people here the people are a little bit more aggressive but hey it worked for [Music] me when it didn’t work for me and I mean yesterday I met up with uh one of my viewers and you’ll see the video about how he was so excited to get to Japan but then of course like many of us we have our trials and tri tribulations mean my English has always gotten bad over [Music] here I’m not sure if it’s going to get any better and you know it’s funny how you know things that I I kind of don’t see in Osaka I see over here I see people live streaming all over the place not exactly sure who Their audience is or what they’re talking about cuz I didn’t really spend that much time listening but there’s definitely way more going on here than there is in Osaka but I wouldn’t say that there’s nothing going on in Osaka but I would still say that again and as a foreigner you’re definitely not going to be getting the most out of this place I think people come over here and enjoy the nice sights people like looking at these ladies in these I don’t know if you call them platform shoes or but all the ladies over here are on some kind of elevator everybody wants to be tall and I guess in about 5 years the style will change and it’ll be stilettos all over again but most certainly you know I kind of I feel good that I’m here I’m definitely happy that I came because I definitely need a little change and of course I believe that Tokyo is different you definitely have more people I’m not sure if there’s more action in regards to what you can do here as a foreigner but I guess if you want less competition you go down to Kai osak aob in these areas if you want more competition you come down to Tokyo if you’re not used to seeing these bright lights in these millions and millions of people walking [Music] around then I [Music] guess Tokyo is for you [Music] I mean most certainly you can also get overwhelmed and you know the thing that I’ve noticed is that I do see a lot of uh foreign couples which in the past was basically just a foreigner a foreign guy with Japanese lady nowadays you see foreign couples which is kind of new well I guess that’s what happens when Japan opens up you know and the immigration process isn’t as strict as it was before even though before it was like I mean I went through hell with it don’t have to go through hell anymore though but now it’s not I’m not sure if it’s the same there is definitely money out here but I’m not sure if the foreigners are the ones that are making the [Music] cash most certainly wouldn’t mine drive in that but I’ve never seen a foreigner [Music] anyone I’ve never seen a foreigner in a well actually I have seen a foreigner I mean yes yes yes actually when I did first get over here there was a a guy that I knew I’m not going to mention his name cuz he didn’t really give me permission and we still talk he had nice cars but I’m not sure it’s at the level that the locals here against you and yes of course Japan definitely excites people I wish that you know if I didn’t know Japan if I hadn’t come to Japan I guess these streets would definitely give me way more excitement than I’m getting right now and I guess if you’re not from here and you’ve never been here then most certainly you’re getting excited and that’s why I think that I kind of need to travel so that I can get excited because once the the high wears off sometimes there’s paranoia and you might not even be high I’ve seen it I mean I would say that the excitement in the high wears off after a few months some people have told me that it’s uh it’s after a year and uh I guess it’s different for everybody but most certainly it is exciting it’s definitely exciting seeing new places in Japan exciting walking new streets that I know nothing about and I wouldn’t mind coming back for a little trip here and there but I also did notice that this area isn’t as clean as some of the places that I’ve seen in Osaka not sure why that is well of course it’s bigger so but most certainly I recommend coming to Tokyo at least once and I recommend coming before I mean I don’t recommend staying too long because like I said you’re going to get high not on drugs just on the atmosphere but you know with any High there’s a time when you come down and most certainly in order for that not to happen you got a know what the limit is but it is most certainly exciting I mean yesterday when I was walking around going to These Bars I mean there were like two or three streets where pretty much there were just foreigners in these little places I mean I did take a video here and there and it’s definitely different I didn’t see that in Osaka where you have like two or three streets where youve got foreigners In These Bars I mean they weren’t big they weren’t like you know super super big or anything like that but but like little teeny tiny shops with like maybe five six seven seats and foreigners occupied all of them on that street with like you know a few Japanese people I also went in for a drink and the lady told me well you know something it’s good and bad because yeah the foreigners are coming in but the old school Japanese people are not coming in because the foreigners are coming in so she was a little um I would say h saddened by that but of course you know how Japanese do it they say it in such a polite way that you can’t hate [Music] them so yes of course I’m glad I came and most certainly I don’t regret it but I would also say that the foreigners that are coming here to work I’m not sure getting really much out of it I also feel like the ladies over here look a little better than what I see in Osaka they dress better I would even say that nowadays Osaka might be a little bit conservative ladies don’t dress as provocatively I’m not saying that the ladies over here are dressing provocatively but again I’m in Shinjuku I guess the equivalent of this in Osaka would be I mean there are other places I can go to like little funy but I’m not sure I’m going to have time for that today so I might have to wait till tomorrow to do that H actually no no no no no I might not be able to do it because tomorrow I might not be here wonder what’s going on on here guess it’s some kind of manga event you know I’m kind of a little uh disappointed I didn’t get involved in manga I mean when I was thinking about Japan there was no such thing I mean I mean I guess it was around it just wasn’t as popular with foreigners [Music] I still kind of feel [Music] that not enough foreigners make it here I mean you see all these Bright Lights big buildings but I just haven’t seen any Foreigner who’s actually built any of these big buildings who owns anything substantial over here maybe that’ll change I mean this whole place is changing this whole place is seeing an influx of foreigners so maybe in the next 20 years we’ll probably have somebody like me become a billionaire in Tokyo I’m definitely pretty sure it’s not going to be me but who knows I mean most certainly Tokyo is a place that people must visit it’s most certainly one of the places that if you’re traveling around that you got to see I don’t think that foreigners are going to make it here like they do when they go to America [Music] but I guess they can try that doesn’t hurt eventually somebody’s going to break through eventually but as for me myself and I I reckon that Tokyo is a wonderful place to visit to visit and like I’ve said before if you’re not making any money in Tokyo if you’re not putting money away you’re not bettering yourself it’s a waste of time but not if you’re on vacation I mean if you’re on vacation going to these restaurants looking at the city looking at a city that you haven’t really seen before enjoying the sights that is definitely most certainly a very good thing mean because I do think that there’s a lot to learn from whichever City you go to whichever City you are in whichever whichever place you travel to whether it’s rich or poor you’re going to learn something you’re going to take away something from there and every country that I’ve visited I’ve learned I’ve experienced things that I haven’t experienced in other places so most certainly I think that Tokyo is one of those places that people should go to and experience things that they haven’t experienced before you can get high on what you haven’t seen it definitely excites you if you’re not used to it you could also get paranoid on what you think the people are thinking about you so it cuts both ways and Tokyo like I said like any City whether it’s Brazil whether it’s Paraguay wherever you go has everything whatever you’re looking for you’re going to find it but like I said most cities can do that wherever you go whether you go to Brazil whether you go to Paraguay whether you go to Osaka kyotto you see nice cars here you’re going to see nice cars in all those other countries you see nice restaurants here you’re going to have nice restaurants there you just need to know how to find it and where to go so of course I would say that I think I made a wrong turn can’t go any further that was like the employee entrance to a high-end department store so like I was saying Tokyo definitely does have everything and I recommend coming here and getting high off the sights and sounds off of the food and the shopping that you’re going to experience but until then Chase The Traveler stay tuned see you in the next episode bye
