Living in IRAN 🇮🇷 What’s Really Happening Now: Media Myths vs Real Life! ایران
A metro station in Tehran My goal in this video is to show you places in Tehran where daily life takes place. I want to show you what real daily life is like in Tehran. The metro is the best place to start. It is mostly used by the middle class, which makes up the majority of the population in Tehran. Most of the people you see on the subway are neither poor nor wealthy. They are ordinary people who are either workers, employees, or students. What you see is actually how most of the population of Tehran is. Of course, the news and media in your country may have told you something different about Iran and Tehran… I have never traveled outside of Iran, but in the comments some said the Tehran metro is much cleaner than the US metro. Many of you have said that the Tehran Metro is very similar to the Delhi Metro. Tehran is the capital of Iran, and it is a large and vibrant city. It is sometimes compared to New York for its size and dynamism. Tehran’s population reaches about 19 million people during theday, many people from surrounding cities such as Karaj come to Tehran for work. Due to its very high population and heavy street traffic,
Tehran relies heavily on metro lines. It may be surprising how the Tehran Metro remains so clean with such a high volume of passengers. What’s more surprising is that hijab is optional in Iran. Some wear it, and some don’t. If you have any questions about Tehran Metro, ask me in the comments section. The people of Tehran are a mix of different ethnicities and cultures. You can learn a little about Iranian culture by seeing people on the subway. Be sure to tell me in the comments which country you are from, it’s an honor to meet good friends like you from all over the world. Iranian art is displayed in all Tehran metro stations At larger stations, you will find shops that mostly sell decorative items and food. Because Iranians care so much about food and the beauty of their homes. I’m sure Iranians have great taste in food, if you’ve never tried Iranian food, you’re doing yourself a huge disservice 😅 In the next section, we will go to the largest store in Iran. A store that even has a large space for ice sports Tehran, Iranmall Did you think you would see such a place in Tehran? Is this what they show you in the media? Sometimes I read in the comments that some people can’t believe these videos. They say: This video is fake. 😐😐 Because they can’t believe Iran is a developed country. And much of its infrastructure, shops, and houses are quite modern. Some say we thought Iranians were black. They are shocked when they see that Iranians look like Europeans. And this is my face after reading these comments 😐😐😐 This is another section of the Iran Mall, which showcases Iranian art. Interestingly, each part of Iranmall has its own unique design. Each section has cafes and restaurants that match the design of that section. This part of Iran has very beautiful architecture, and its beautiful chandeliers are also very eye-catching. As you saw at the beginning of the video and in the
metro section, women’s hijab is optional. This is a fact that most media outlets ignore. In the next section, we go inside one of the stores that sells sweets and beautiful decorative items made by Iranian artists. In Iran, there is a deep cultural appreciation for sweets, dried fruits, nuts, and ornate handicrafts The vibrant displays of pistachios, almonds, saffron-infused treats, and colorful sweets reflect the country’s long-standing culinary heritage. Iranians often serve these delights during celebrations like Nowruz (Persian New Year) or when hosting guests, as sharing food symbolizes hospitality and warmth. Equally important is the aesthetic of presentation. The shop’s elegant chandeliers, intricate plasterwork, and neatly arranged goods showcase a traditional Persian attention to beauty and detail. This is not just a place to buy food or souvenirs—it’s an embodiment of Iran’s passion for artful living. Even the decorative items, like textiles and clothing, echo motifs from Persian art, reminding visitors that Iranians value both taste and visual elegance. This harmonious mix of culinary indulgence and ornamental artistry makes such stores in Iran-Mall feel like a modern-day bazaar—bridging past and present, luxury and culture. Exploring traditional bazaars, sampling local sweets, and wandering through picturesque green countryside, you’ll quickly see a side of Iran that’s full of life, color, and kindness so different from the one-dimensional images often shown in the media. Many international media outlets often portray Iran as a dry, desert-like land dominated by endless stretches of sand and barren mountains. While deserts like Dasht-e Kavir and Lut do exist and are breathtaking in their own way, this image is far from the whole story. Iran is an incredibly diverse country, with lush, green regions
that might surprise many outsiders. The north of Iran, along the Caspian Sea, is covered in dense forests, rice paddies, and tea plantations. Provinces like Gilan and Mazandaran are famous for their misty mountains, vibrant villages, and fertile landscapes. Even around Tehran—often imagined as a sprawling, arid metropolis you’ll find beautiful, green villages nestled in the Alborz mountains. These areas are rich with streams, orchards, and cool air,
offering a stark contrast to the stereotypes. Iran is not just deserts and ancient ruins; it’s also vibrant gardens, diverse climates, and a culture deeply connected to beauty and nature. But Iran’s beauty isn’t only in its nature—it’s in its people too. Iranians are known for their warmth and hospitality. Visitors are often greeted with smiles, invited for tea, and treated like family. Iran isn’t just a destination; it’s an experience of vibrant culture,
stunning scenery, and heartfelt connections. Thank you very much for watching this video and sharing your comments with me.

I often think of visiting Iran. It's really beautiful and disciplined.
Hey look Iran is more or less like any other country… except you have a dictator and limits on your freedom.
