⁴ᴷ Hokkaido: Chitose Station (北海道: 千歳駅) – Japan Walking Tour (July, 2025)

To begin my journey around almost the entire island of Hokkaido, I took an 18-hour ferry ride and landed in Tomakomai. My first filming location was Hakodate, the southernmost city in Hokkaido.

After that, I traveled from Tomakomai to Chitose — a neighboring town, you might say. While Chitose is well-known thanks to New Chitose Airport, it doesn’t seem like many people actually get off at Chitose Station itself.

That said, the town gained some recognition as a filming location for the Netflix drama First Love: Hatsukoi. In several scenes, the main character, Yae Noguchi, is shown eating Napolitan pasta at a local diner called Seiyoken. However, the real Seiyoken has since closed, and it turns out Napolitan wasn’t even on the menu.

Expecting the building to be gone as well, I went to the site to check it out. Surprisingly, both the sign and the structure were still there, so I took the opportunity to film what remains.
