Kyoto Cherry Blossoms 🌸 Quiet Sakura viewing spot 山科疏水 | 🇯🇵 Japan travel VLOG

We are going on a Sakura 🌸 chasing trip. Our first time flying by Peach aviation, a Japanese budget airline. Didn’t know there’s a “Zoo” 🐅🦓🦒 in the transit area. It’s gonna be a red-eye flight for us. Having Dunkin’ Donuts for supper. The leg space is very good for a budget airline! Upon arrival at Kansai airport, we collected our 5 days JR Kansai wide area pass. The JR Kansai wide area pass will cover our train ride from Osaka Kansai airport to Kyoto. We were pleasantly surprised to board the JR Hello Kitty Haruka train bound for Kyoto. Hello “Hello Kitty”! We feel so blessed to be able to enjoy the cherry blossoms during the train ride. The washrooms & toilets in the train are adorned with Hello Kitty designs. So cute! More cherry blossoms! Feels like this came straight out of a scene from a high school anime, filled with cherry blossoms in full bloom! Arrived at Kyoto train station. Greeted by Hello Kitty station master. Kyoto train station is huge! Our first night hotel is just within Kyoto train station. Not easy to book especially during the sakura season. Quick room tour! We will be heading to Ine tomorrow, so today’s the only chance to catch the cherry blossom views in Kyoto city. Off to cherry blossom viewing after a toilet break. Yamashina station is just 5 mins away from Kyoto train station. We will be walking to our first cherry blossom viewing spot! Cross this tunnel and let Google maps guide us. We chanced upon this pretty cherry blossom arch. This unmarked location is just so pretty! We are big fans of Makoto Shinkai’s animations. This is the “5cm per second” moment! 🌸 Reached Yamashina Canal… captivated by this beautiful sight! 😍 Peace and quiet. Lovely contrast of cherry blossoms & yellow rapeseed flowers. Cherry blossoms bloom in clusters on the branches. We took some time to slowly soak in this magical place. Do look forward to our next vlog as we travel to

Yamashina Canal is such a hidden gem for sakura viewing, and just only 1 JR train station away (5min) from Kyoto station. It’s a magical place blooming with cherry blossoms and yellow rapeseed flowers!
