Wendy Wu Tours has launched its latest Japan brochure, showcasing a bold new design and layout along with immersive new tours aimed at meeting the growing demand for culturally rich, experience-driven travel across Japan and beyond.
For the first time, all Japan tours are now listed by duration rather than style, placing Classic and Go Beyond itineraries side-by-side for easier comparison. The refreshed brochure highlights the most popular seasonal departures, with cherry blossom and autumn leaves featured on most tours.
A brand-new tour is launching in 2026, Hidden Japan: Spirit of Kysuhu, specially designed for those wanting to venture beyond the typical ‘Golden Route’ of Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka, or for travellers returning to discover a different side of Japan – this new tour meets the growing demand for more immersive and varied journeys.
“Japan has long been a favoured destination for Aussies, and we’re seeing a growing trend towards slower, more immersive styles of travel,” Wendy Wu Tours Australia managing director, Simon Bell, said.
“We’ve introduced a new cruise and tour format, extended our rail options, and brought in unique region- focused itineraries like Kyushu to meet that demand. We’ve also refreshed the brochure layout to help agents quickly match the right tour with the right traveller, it’s all about flexibility and depth.”
Three brand-new tours feature in the 2026/27 edition, each offering distinct and authentic ways to explore Japan and the surrounding region:
Hidden Japan: Spirit of Kyushu (12 days from $11,180 pp twin share): Discover the lesser-known southern island of Kyushu, renowned for its natural beauty, craft traditions and heartfelt hospitality. Highlights include soaking in an open-air onsen, visiting a traditional pottery village, and exploring the deeply moving Chiran Peace Museum. Guests can also enjoy a kimono experience in the tranquil Sengan-en Gardens, taste Kagoshima’s locally-aged black vinegar, and visit an authentic shochu distillery.
Japan by Rail and Sea (23 days from $21,680 pp twin share, outside cabin): This new cruise and tour journey combines land and sea travel from Kobe to Tokyo. The itinerary includes cultural icons such as Kyoto and Tokyo Skytree, along with memorable experiences like sushi making, snow monkey spotting in the Japanese Alps, and onsen bathing in a traditional hot spring resort.
Taiwan by Rail (10 days from $5,980 pp twin share): Though outside Japan, this new Classic tour is featured in the brochure as a regional extension, offering a fast-paced adventure across Taiwan by rail. Travellers will cruise Sun Moon Lake, explore Taipei’s night markets, ride the Alishan Forest Train, and taste mountain-grown Indigenous coffee.
A newly redesigned airline partner guide also features, offering added convenience for agents helping clients choose the right tour and flight combination. The updated brochure also features a modernised visual layout, enhanced tour summaries and clearer regional mapping, providing agents with all the tools they need to connect travellers with the right experience across Japan and nearby destinations.
