Naomi Osaka, currently ranked No. 53 in the WTA, has used her substantial career earnings, which exceed $21 million, to acquire lavish homes previously owned by renowned celebrities.

Her impressive wealth, boosted by Grand Slam victories at the Australian Open in 2019 and 2021, and the US Open in 2018 and 2020, is further supplemented by profitable endorsements with TAG Heuer, Nike, and Louis Vuitton. It comes after her emotional exit from Wimbledon this summer.

The 27-year-old tennis star has made savvy investments, owning two luxury properties formerly belonging to Nick Jonas and Nick Lachey. In August 2019, the Osaka-born athlete, now based in the United States, bought a sleek home from pop star and actor Jonas for around $6.8M.

Built originally in 1965 and revamped in 2015, the 4,129 square-foot Los Angeles property boasts five bedrooms and four bathrooms, along with a detached two-story guesthouse complete with a bedroom suite, office, and private gym. The main house features floor-to-ceiling glass doors, a spacious living room, and a cutting-edge kitchen, while an infinity pool and spa grace the garden.

Jonas, who reportedly bought the property just under a year earlier, is thought to have sold it after marrying Priyanka Chopra in December, as he was eager to find a permanent home with his wife. But Jonas’ former residence isn’t the only Californian property in Osaka’s portfolio.

In 2022, she snapped up a $8.4Mm gem located in the heart of Tarzana, just a hop, skip and a jump away from the prestigious Calabasas neighborhood.

The sprawling 6,855 square-foot estate features five bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, and is nestled amidst verdant greenery, boasting state-of-the-art technology.

A standout feature is the idyllic backyard that offers breathtaking views of the sunset. A pool deck sets the stage for unforgettable summer fun, while an outdoor fire pit encircled by comfy seating invites serene late-night unwinding.

When she bought it, the property also featured a top-notch basketball court, accessible through a secret stairway from the garden. The grand mansion was formerly home to famed singer-songwriter Nick Lachey and his wife, Vanessa, who raised their three kids there before Osaka took ownership three years prior.

DON’T MISS…

As of 2025, it’s unclear whether Osaka splits her time between both properties, or if she has chosen to reside in one and treat the other as an investment. This summer, Osaka made her return to Wimbledon, eyeing her fifth Grand Slam title.

The tennis sensation kicked off her SW19 campaign in impressive style, defeating Talia Gibson in the first round and then besting Katerina Siniakova on Wednesday. However, her run was abruptly halted during Friday’s third round, when she squared off against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova on court two.

Osaka began powerfully against the WTA No. 50, clinching the first set 6-2. But the Russian player rallied in the second and third sets, winning 6-4 each time to secure her spot in the last 16.

This marks the third occasion that Osaka has been eliminated from a Grand Slam in the third round, having previously fallen to Venus Williams and Angelique Kerber in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
