Tokyo Vlog ๐ฏ๐ต๐ผโจ 72 Hours of Shopping, Eating & Exploring in our fav city!!
[Music] That is right you guys. We are back in Tokyo, Japan. Last time that we were here was about a year ago. Yes. And it was when I proposed to Ryland and we got engaged to be married. That’s how special this place is to us. So special. And I’m so so happy to be back here. I know. We have a long list of things to do that we have been missing since the last time we were here. But of course on top of that, lots of new things we want to do, see, try. Yes. The usual. Exciting. Exciting stuff. So happy to be back. But first, we have something very important to do. Yes. [Music] [Music] Look at all of that breakfast. So, so good. Nothing beats a 7-Eleven breakfast. Honestly. Okay. So, I heard the new thing on the block is to add the coolish, which is so good. Yeah. Into just an Americano and it makes a perfect latte. I’m surprised that you’re doing this because we’re about to do a literal six course coffee. I wanted to try it. Okay. I wanted to try it. We’ll share it. Look at this. Oh my gosh. That’s looking delicious. Is that ice cream? Yeah, it’s ice cream. I didn’t know what cool this was. Oh, it looks so good. Okay, I’m going to stir it around. Oh, let me take the straw off. Okay, ready? Yeah. Oh my gosh, that looks so good. Honestly, right. The color. Okay, ready? That’s so good. It’s not too sweet. All right. This right here, I was very excited to try. It’s going to look very weird. Black pepper fried chicken. That looks insane. The 7-Eleven fried chicken is so good. That looks crazy. Actually, it’s so good. It is so good. I got an egg, pork, bacon, and nanny sandwich. And it looks so good. Like the presentation even on a 7-Eleven is like crazy. [Music] Good. Mhm. Mhm. All right. You know what time it is now? I used to have such a hard time with these things. You did. I always had to do them foreign. I’m a pro now, but I don’t want I don’t want to jinx myself. I know. Now you’re going to jinx yourself. All right. Solid. Solid dismount. Oh. Oh, perfect. Perfect. So perfect. Red salmon and salt, of course. The best one. Yum. So good. Literally my favorite thing in the world. This is what I miss the most. This Oh my gosh. Yeah. Pukari sweat. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] So this spot is called Coffee Mamea. They have a few locations around Tokyo, but we chose this one because of their coffee omocaz, which is such a unique concept. A five course tasting menu all focused on coffee paired with different yummy foods. The workers are dressed in lab coats and everything is just so official and precise. We could tell this was definitely about to be the most fancy coffee experience we had ever had. I got their signature menu and Juan Marcel ended up getting their seasonal special which means that all of his coffee was going to be from geisha beans. We had never heard of this but apparently geisha is one of the highest quality coffee bean you could possibly have and it’s known for being more floral and smooth. Our first drink was a mocktail which was made from something called kascara which is basically the dried skin of the coffee cherry and it was so delicious. From there, they brought out our first course paired with food. Mine was this cold brew, and it was served with this mysterious looking orb. And of course, when I tried to eat it all fancy, that did not go to plan. Let me see. Let me see. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] That’s got to go down is one of our most unique experiences ever. Yeah, that was so so good. So cool. What a concept that is. Let us know any of our viewers that are from New York when we go back home. We got to find a place that does a good milk brew cuz that was amazing. I know. He said we could make it ourselves, which I’ll start doing. Oh, we’ll see how that goes. All right. But anyways, we have been using the crap out of these New Balances. And so now we need an upgrade. There’s this shoe brand that’s been going crazy called Onitsuka Tigers. Yes. I mean, they’ve been a thing for a while now, but we have never owned a pair and we want to do some shopping. We’re going to get matching pairs. Depends. Depends. I want to see what they got going on. Stylist. Yeah. If you agree with what I like. Wow. I’m kidding. We’ll see. We’ll see. But we’re going to go do some shopping. Last time we were here, you had to get physical tickets or a physical sua card to use the metro from these machines here. Yes. But now they have this new thing that our friend showed us. Look at this. You can get the speaker card right here. And you just have to load it with like money off of one of your cards or whatever. And then look at this. You can just tap right in. You don’t even have to do the double tap. Yeah. So easy. Wow. I hope there’s no line. What’ you say? I hope there’s no line. Oh, from what I’ve heard, every location of these onsuka tigers. Oh, not Oh, no. Thank you. Thank you. From what I’ve heard, every location of these onsuka tigers in Japan, there’s a line. There’s a line. I see it. It looks good. Wow. I hope they have parent one. Which one do you want? Do you even know? I don’t know. [Music] Apparently, One Marcel has a shoe size that runs out of stock very quickly because Every pair that he asked to see was not available in store. But I did get my pair. Juan Marcel was super bummed. But we decided that it would be our mission to find him a pair. So we headed to another nearby location. This one was actually called Nepon Made. And I’m sure any locals watching already knew this, but this place has all of the coolest and most specialized ona collections. And that comes with an increased price sadly. Like every pair here was so cool, but it was three to four times as expensive as normal pairs. So, we decided we would try out another location. So, we headed to a more popular location, which was in Ginsa. And this was definitely going to be our last attempt. So, we really had our fingers crossed. Our confidence definitely got a bit shaken once we saw how absolutely massive the line was, but the line moved pretty quickly, so we decided to stick it out. All right. I can’t believe after all the effort only one of Just kidding. Anyways, I don’t know how lame that just looked, but we’re excited as you can tell. I mean, look at these things. So cute. But anyways, we are in a bit of a rush because we made reservations for something we’re very excited about. Yes. Last time we came to Tokyo, actually the first time we ever came to Tokyo, so not the last one, we went to Team Lab Planets and and it was amazing. Oh, one of the coolest things ever, but there was another one we heard of called Team Lab Borderless, which was closed at the time, so we didn’t get to go to it. And last time when we came to Tokyo, it was open but super hard to get reservations or tickets. Mhm. We managed to get some this time. So, we’re headed there right now. [Music] True. It’s a dance we know the most. The bow, the dip, the woo. Though the words are true, the state is old news. Wrap me in your arms. I can’t feel it. But rock me in your arms. I can’t feel it. [Music] Get up, get down. Get up, get down. Feel stop. See the next one. Get up, get down, get up, get down, get up. But the pair of feet change. I know my words will dry up on the skin. Just like a name I remember hearing wild winters. Warm coffee. Mom’s gone. Do you love me? Blazing summer. Cold coffee. Baby’s gone. Do you love me? Grab me in your arms. I can’t feel it burn. [Music] Rock me in your arms. I can’t feel it burn. [Music] If you have watched any of our previous Tokyo vlogs, you already know this spot. At this point, it is a yearly tradition. It really is. Finding a sushi spot that’s like available for walk-ins in Tokyo can be pretty hard. We’re not the best planners and usually things are booked out for like weeks or months in advance. And so three years ago, we were having difficulty finding sushi and then we walked into this spot. We just stumbled upon it and no wait, we walked right in. Usually we would think maybe that’s a bad sign, but we sat down and we had the best sushi we have ever had in our lives. So So also right after we got engaged, we came here. Yes. It holds a special place for us. A it’s never led us astray. We come back every year. We had to do it. You already know what we’re getting. Why are you even looking? Oh my gosh. Yeah, I already know. We’re salmon lovers. We’re probably going to get 16 pieces of salmon. That’s what we normally do. They always try to correct us and say, “Oh, no, no, no. That’s too much.” And we’re like, “Yeah, we want that much salmon.” 16mon. How many? 16. 16. 16. Eight pieces each. [Music] I’m so excited. Oh my god. I can’t believe we’re back. I’m starving. I feel like we’re not making a big enough deal about this, babe. This is our first bite of sushi back in Japan. I’m just so hungry that I can’t even I can tell your energy has gone so down. It’s insane. I’m so hungry. Ryan’s one of those people who cannot She cannot hide when she’s hangry. I cannot function hungry. You ready? Yeah. Cheers. Oh my god. [Music] This right here is my favorite cup of coffee in the whole world. I have been dreaming about it for the past year and I cannot wait. I know. All right. This is the spread. This right here is the honey oat latte. This is the espresso with mochi and soybean flour on top. So good. It’s like a little dessert. Oh my god. Delicious. And then and then my favorite ever, which is the matcha espresso. So it’s matcha latte with espresso in it. It doesn’t get better than that. All right. Cheers. Cheers. Well, as good as you remember. Better. Better. Mhm. It is better. Get it. Get it. That’s a coffee dance if I’ve ever seen one. Let’s try this bad boy now. Holy crap. It’s so soft. It’s literally so soft. It’s like falling off of this stick. It’s so good. It’s like peanut. Remember? Yes. I forgot. Yeah. The inside has some sort of like yumminess. Mhm. Okay. Give me that. You are not ready for how good that is. Are you joking me? The reason that we are here this morning, besides the coffee, is because we are meeting two of our really good friends who they’re kind of the main reason we rushed from South Korea to come here so fast. Yeah. Because this is the last day of their trip here in Japan. And they just got engaged, which I’m so happy for them. Yes. We need to celebrate them. They’re Sarah and Pow. We met them on our group trip to Ireland and since then we have been best buds the best of friends and we just love them so much. We’ve met in New York since then and now here. So excited to see them. We’re going to have a fun day. They’re literally meeting us up the street. Yeah. So, let’s So, we kind of have to hurry. We realized as we turned the corner that Sarah and Powell had not seen us yet. So, of course, we decided to jump scare them. That first hug was so special and we were so excited to see our dear friends. Sarah is actually vegan. So, in honor of that, we went to a fully vegan sushi restaurant that she loves here in Tokyo. And while we were pretty skeptical, we have to admit everything was super yummy and we were pleasantly surprised. We talked about their engagement and admired the beautiful ring. It’s just so special that we all got engaged right here in Japan. Anyways, after our yummy meal, we hopped on the train to take them to one of our favorite places. [Music] [Applause] It’s my life or wasting nights. This isn’t what I had in mind to get along. Do I need someone? I think about it all the time. I was going to be alone. Guess I didn’t know the curious could amount to this. When you came along, I knew what was wrong. Want to know exactly what I meant. It’s you. I’m just saying. [Music] You’re what I’ve been chasing. Show me where my days went. It’s I’m just [Music] been chasing. Show me where my days went. All right, we are going to attempt a haul right now. We tried to warn them that it was a dangerous area to shop here cuz many very dangerous and they agreed it destroyed us. We will never financially recover from right wallet. This bag is all used. So just run through. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Capri. White. White capri. Very cute. Bloomers. Been looking for these. Is that what that’s called? Okay. Yeah, these are bloomers. These are so small, but they actually look really cute on her. And they’re not too transparent. I know. Yeah, maybe a little. And then this shirt. Everything’s a little bit see-through, but in a good way. This skirt, which fit really nicely. White skirt. I got a lot of skirts, guys. Yeah, it looks so good. Even those who didn’t get. And then another skirt. Another skirt. Yellow. Oh, this one is my favorite from Rubies. My favorite, too. Very like Aladdin or something. Yeah, it is. Yeah, I think so. I got this dress there. Oo, this that was my favorite from your shopping. I love it. What was that again? I can’t even remember. It’s a skirt. It’s your skirt. Oh, it’s my skirt, right? Yeah, it’s my skirt. Oh, yeah. I love that one for you. I don’t remember. I Where I That one’s Dylan. Dylan. Ah, yeah. That might be Dylan. So, this was from Dylan. Like a really cool pattern silk and button-down shirt. Yes. I was searching for something like this. You’re a natural. He’s a natural in the hall. He’s a natural. So, this is England jersey. What would you call this? Jersey. That’s a polo shirt. Yeah. This is a super fun bowling shirt. Yeah, I think it’s cool. Oh, no. You remember I said I was afraid it’s too much bowling and Ryden said, “No, it’s not bowling at all.” Not bowling at all. It’s a cute It’s a good No, no, no, no, no. In a good way. I said a little bit bullying, but in the best way. Oh, yeah. I’m on to you. You’re sabotaging me. Yeah. This is a funny little graphic tea. This one says, “Who rocks the party that rocks the party?” Yeah, like that. And then on the back it tells you exactly who rocks the party. That rocks the party. Kelly Stukco rocks the party. That rocks the party. And who is that? We don’t know. This guy right here. Snowboarding. It’s like a snowboarding bear thingy with I don’t know, but he looks very cool. He is rocking a party somewhere. This I don’t know if you’ll even be able to tell in this lighting that it’s striped. It’s so cool. It’s like a striped. These are my favorite things you got. Japanese denim. Yeah. This is my favorite pickup today. Now show your zebra pants. Oh, okay. So, this was a one one of a kind. One of a kind pants that I found. And after I bought them, I found they were actually five of a kind in the same store. There’s five of the same exact zebra baggy shorts, but I still like them. I stand by my purchase. Oh, yeah. I’ve got a few more. I forgot. Yeah. Okay. Red shirt. Really cute. Quickly. Oh, no. Show the back. Back. The back is so cool. Has And I can undo this so it’s really open. Yeah. And then skirt. This was a perfect skirt, right? Yeah. This is fit you perfectly. Love. And then a little gold jewelry. Wow. Guess who did the best today? Maybe. Yes. I think we have a winner. You. It’s you. No, I don’t. I don’t. How many things did you get? I think I got one, two, three, and then everything in this bag. One, two, three, and everything else. Everything else. I think I got 10 things. 10 things. Double digits. I think with the bracelets for me, it’s seven. Yes, it’s seven for you. And I got like three pieces that I absolutely love. In the end, we’re all winners. Yeah, we all win. All winners. Yes. Not the wallet. It’s a loser. After saying our goodbyes, Juan Marcel and I headed home to drop off our new clothes and get changed for dinner. As we got off the train, there was a cute little flower stand. And of course, being the sweetheart that he is, one Marcel stopped to surprise me with a little bouquet. With all of the time that we have spent here in Japan, we have tried lots of typical Japanese food. But there is still one major dish that we have never had here, and that is Japanese curry. And there is a spot that we keep hearing about named Bondi and it’s supposed to have some of the best curry in the city. [Music] All right. That was our first time having Japanese curry in Japan. Yeah, it’s kind of crazy that it took us this long. Third time in Tokyo. Why have you guys not told us we had to do that urgently? That was one of the best meals ever. It was amazing. 10 out of 10. So, so freaking good, man. Oh my gosh. I don’t know if that was like the wrong place to try our first Japanese curry because it was so so good or if they’re all that good. But wow. But anyways, can you tell where we are now from all the lighting and the craziness? We’re in church. Yeah. [Music] I’ve been trying to call. I’ve been on my own for long enough. Maybe you can show me how to love. Baby, I’m going through a tr. You don’t even have to do too much. You can turn me on with just a touch. Baby, I look since it is cold and empty. No one’s around to judge me. I can’t see clearly when you’re on myself. Oh, I’m blinded by the lights. No, I can’t sleep until I feel your touch. I say I’m drowning in the night. Oh, when I’m like this one. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] got the goods. It looks so good. Look at the color. It’s as green as his plant. Is insane. Honestly, I’m not the matcha enthusiast of the two of us, but even I can see that that’s special. This is special. So, we saw this spot. Five stars. Completely perfect reviews. Five stars to where we’re staying and we were like, it’s a must. Yeah. I mean, it’s been all coffee. Coffee. Coffee. We’ve been neglecting our matcha drinker. Yeah. And also, we’re in Japan. Exactly. So, it’s a must. So, let’s see. First matcha. Yes. Of the trip. Well, I didn’t need to cheers you. Cheers. This is amazing. We got the premium matcha. It’s insane. Okay, let’s see. Oh my gosh, it’s literally like a cloud. The cloud cloud. It’s like so fluffy and it’s so good. Yummy. I think that this goes up against Kijijura. Are you serious? Well, I mean, we’re in Japan. Me personally, that’s one of the best cups of match I have ever had in my life. Me, too. I give it a 9.5 out of 10. Wow. You heard it here first, folks. Cloud Club. Cloud Club. So good. Amazing. Matcha. Literally feels like you’re drinking a cloud. Also, the caffeinated levels I’m on right now, dude. It’s already hitting me. No. See, this is the thing with Ryland. Placebo effect hits her hard when it comes to caffeine. All right. Because there’s no way it hit your system that fast. No, it hit my system. Oh, yeah. Yeah. All right. Well, you have a caffeine addiction. That’s why we’re going to Bongan to get him another Why are you telling on me? Look, my thing with matcha is the opposite of Ryland. I feel like it does nothing to me. I need coffee. You’re crazy. And we are walking distance away from my favorite coffee in the world. So, might as well. Yeah. [Music] [Music] With oatmeal and what will come soon. Okay. [Music] Oh yeah. Look at you. You caffeine addict. You have to be feeling the matcha though by now. Uh-oh. That’s more like it, baby. That is more like Oh, you’re pointing at my Yeah, you stomped and it drew me to them. My Onsuka tigers. We went through a mission to get these. You know, I’m wearing them. [Music] We are at a spot that is very special to us and to our lore. Mhm. Last time we were here was when I proposed to Ryland in Shinjukuan. This is the park that I did it in during cherry blossom season. Yes. It looks so different now. I know. Summer. Yeah. But it’s it’s beautiful in a different way. Beautiful. Yes. A very different way. But we knew that we had to come back here and relive the memory. I feel like every time we come to Tokyo now, we have to. Yes. No, we of course. Oh, it’s like all the memories come flooding back. I know. I remember being at this tree when it was a cherry bloss like full of cherry blossoms. Really? That’s the one. And I could tell you were so nervous like right when I was taking videos of this tree. This one right here. Yeah. I could feel your nervous energy. Do you like it? I love it. [Music] To all the days we were together. [Music] to all the time we were apart. [Music] Love each other’s lives, [Music] heart to heart. [Music] So I had a late arrival. Though we never saw the start [Music] of each other’s lives. [Music] Oh yeah. Yeah. I see the sign. It’s right there. That’s the same exact sign. Babe, do not enter. This is nice and private. Yes. Found it. Oh my god. It makes me emotional. You know what I’m excited for? What? We can bring our baby here one day. We were right there. It’s grown a lot. It’s grown so much. Oh my gosh. Right. [Music] Okay, we are starving and we are craving ramen. So, we referred to this long list of recommendations from one of our amazing amazing subscribers, one of you guys. Look how spicy. Which one do you recommend? Which one do you This one number one. Okay. Wow. That was so fast. Nice. Those look so good. We got the gyoza. Wow. Wow. Wow. This looks delicious. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I don’t want to butcher the pronunciation, but the person that recommended this was named Udo. So, thank you, Udo, because this looks amazing. And the vibes are so good in here. They’re so good. It’s like all locals. I feel like we found a little secret spot. though. This is between you and us. All right. You ready? Cheers. Oh my god. [Music] I’ll trade you. I’ll trade. No. No. This as a researcher. Come on. Of course. Japanese beer. Come by. This is to you. Yes. Thank you for an amazing ramen spot. So good. As we finished our ramen, we were feeling so sad about our time here in Tokyo coming to an end. It always feels like there’s never enough time to experience this city. I feel like you could live here your whole life and never run out of things to do. restaurants to try or matchas and coffee to drink. But there was still one thing we hadn’t done on this trip that is a necessary staple of every Tokyo trip and that is Shabuya scramble. Last night I was screaming out loud. California sun was making. Thank you guys so much for hanging out with us for another beautiful trip to one of our favorite cities in the world. And thank you, Tokyo, for always welcoming us back with open arms as we relive all of our favorite memories together while also making new ones.
