Semboku, Akita (秋田県仙北市) – Natsuse Onsen Miyakowasure (夏瀬温泉 都わすれ) VIP room Kusabue (貴賓室 草笛) tour

This is and this is the VIP room here. It’s the top room. Um, natus onsen is the area. Mako was mako means capital and was means forget. So it’s in a remote part of Akita prefixure. But um uh you know people long to go back to the main capital city of Kyoto. And so uh I guess this place in you know if it exists in the old olden days would make people feel like hey I I don’t miss um the capital city or or my hometown because a lot of people were transferred over here during the early days to administer this uh remote region uh known as Tohoku. So anyways, this is an Akita prefixure uh just like the Akita Inu the dog. Um and uh it’s uh near Lake Tazawa or Tazawako in Simboku is the uh county I guess Senbukushi. And so you have um this is this is a top room VIP room Kishinu. It’s modest by um top bioan standards. Um, but this place is uh does have authentic hot springs onsen and is supposedly has first rate food. Um, it’s a small joan and uh I don’t know where this leads to. Aha. So, this is the uh Turn this on. Yep. This is the shower room up here. Here it is. And then you can either go out this way, but we’ll go out the front way. So, all rooms here have built-in uh in room private onsen baths. They also have a communal gender sec segregated bath which you know it’s called dio. Um and they also have one private bath that you can uh rent all all guests can rent um or reserve on a complimentary basis. But look at this. So this is uh the bath. So, so the difference is this is the standard onsen that you go into and then over here you can see that you can kind of sit and lay down and and lean your head back and just chill out while enjoying the uh the view from the room. This is the end unit, the very far end of the quarter. You can see the the the wonderful nature all around. So, uh to get here is uh off the main road. It’s about 3 to 4 kilometers of gravel road and a windy uh road with uh nothing but a lot of foliage around and a lot of switchbacks. But uh looking at this, it looks like it’s going to be worth it. Um I don’t know that we kind we really need to go in the private bath, but uh we did reserve it and uh it’s reservable on a first come first serve basis. So make sure you put in the request for your bathing time as soon as you check in like we did. So uh I didn’t show the bathroom. I mean the toilet, but you know you know what they look like. They all look the same, especially in in Japanese. So, Natsu Onen Makuaku, it’s not far from Kakuno, a former samurai town, a merchant town. Um, that’s known for its Sakura cherry blossoms when it’s in peak bloom. And it’s also near Lake Tazawa, among other things in Akita Prefecture. This is a the VIP room here.

A walkthrough of the VIP Room “Kusabue” (貴賓室 草笛) at Natsuse Onsen Miyakowasure (夏瀬温泉 都わすれ), a 10-room luxury onsen ryokan located in Semboku, Akita, Japan (秋田県仙北市). It’s the top room at the ryokan, making it one of the less impressive accommodations among the properties that we’ve visited. However, the Onsen is “gensen kakenagashi” (源泉かけ流し – straight from the source, free flowing and never recirculated), and no water is added to cool down the onsen, which means the spring is not diluted in any way. And the view of nature (including the river as well as the Hydrangeas in full bloom) make up for it.
