The Blue Island in Japan | Miyakojima

Around 300km south from Japan’s mainland, there’s a little island surrounded by calm
beautiful nature and endless blue of the sea. This place is called Miyakojima. It’s
a small island in Okinawa Prefecture, and a place that doesn’t feel like
the Japan most people know. On this island it’s all about nature, slower
life and full of peaceful moments. This time we started our trip from Osaka, and
to reach Miyakojima, we have to take 2 flights, first we have to fly to Okinawa then have
another 50 mins flight to Miyakojima island I arrived at the sunset and this
is my first meal of the day. The first place I want to go is the Yonaha Beach, people often called it the
most beautiful beach in Japan. The sea is so clear and with that turquiose
blue sea color with the white sand, this place is so peaceful and the best part of it, it’s not even crowded although they said
it’s the most beautiful beach in Japan. And from the beach, you can see the Kurima Bridge
at the background connecting the Kurima island. Today I actually planned to explore the Kurima
Island, so after a morning at the Yonaha Beach, I drive across the bridge and found
one of the best Soba on the island. Kurima Island is a small, charming island on
the south of Miyakojima. Although it’s small, it has something special to see and explore here. And I found a beautiful sea cave where
I can walk inside when it’s in low tide. Before leaving the Kurima Island, I stopped by the Kurima port. It’s a little
fishing port just next to the Kurima bridge. And the rest of my 2nd day was exploring some
part of the island and doing some photography. The next day, I am heading to Irabu Island, it’s
the 2nd largest island in Miyakojima after the main island. This is the Irabuohashi bridge,
it’s the longest bridge over the sea that you can drive for free in Japan. And it took nearly 40
years from planning to completion of this bridge Irabu Island is actually lots of
farmland and not much to stop by And after crossing over Irabu Island, I
arrived at Shimoji island. It’s an island just next to Irabu. And this place has a
very special name called 17END. The name actually means the end of the runway 17
of the local airport When in low tide, there’s a small white sand beach appears right
by the runway. But what really made me to come here was to watch the planes flying from
the endless blue ocean to the airport. And today, I am at Cape Nishihennazaki,
the northern most point of the Miyakojima’s main island. It’s a narrow path leads
all the way out to the tip of the cape. I got here way too early until
sunset, so i explored around, climbed a few cliffs and just chilling
around waiting for the sunset. And finally, the color of the sky
is turning into beautiful orange and I am so happy I stayed here until the sunset. Today is a long day coz after dinner I
am heading all the way to the bottom tip of the island. and tonight the sky is so clear,
it’s the best time to photograph the Milky Way. It’s not my first time seeing Milky Way, but
this time is the clearest one I’ve ever seen. I could even see it with
my eyes without the camera The next few days I did not film much but just
to enjoy the beautiful nature of the island. Driving back and forth to the top, crossing
between the islands to photograph some different moments of the nature. Miyakojima
is small but it has so many to experience.
