FIRST TIME IN JAPAN 🇯🇵 We DID NOT Expect TOKYO to Look Like This!

We are stood right now at the very
bottom of the tallest tower in the world.  The pavements here are clean everywhere. Like
there’s no rubbish. If I’m not wrong, these are love hotels!!
I think they are!! like this is the kind of thing that
you have to do when you are in Tokyo. I can’t look down. Oh, it’s wobbling. I’m scared. Welcome, welcome, welcome. And Konichiwa
from Tokyo, Japan, a brand new country. We’re right out on the streets right now. I am
very, very happy to be here. Oh my goodness, look at the sun shining. And we’re in
the largest city in the world, aren’t we? 41 million people?
41 million.  Easily the largest city in the world. 5 million
plus vending machines as well, making it the vending machine capital of the world.
It’s also the second largest uh like   economic city after New York. This has been on
the bucket list for a long time. Literally since even before we set off travelling almost 4 years ago.
It’s meant to be hot, sticky, and rainy. But hey, we bring good weather. It’s about 24°, which
is honestly perfection when you’ve come from about 35° with like 80% humidity. Let’s get on
the metro, show you guys how things actually work here. It’s going to be an actionpacked day
today. Oh, first day in Tokyo. Let’s go. It is. Hopefully, we can get one from here.
Commuter pass. Just make sure you guys have a car. Oh, yeah. I was looking for the English
option. ticket. Then we can search the station name. Is it this one?
Yeah, I think so. Asakusa bashi.  Okay,
we need two tickets. Yes. So, we press on the side.
There we go. Brilliant. Two adults.  Uh 340.
340. Not bad. Now, you guys need to have this a car. This is going
to be a lifesaver here cuz you can pay for your   tickets, 7-Elevens, everything literally. So,
we purchased it last night. You pop it in there, right? And then you are able I think
you can actually pay cash here too.  So two tickets one. The tickets are so cute here.
They are cinema tickets back in the day. I love it. Okay. Where are we going
now? We attempt to go and get   on the trains. There we go. Comes out this way.
Happy days. Which way are we meant to go now? So it’s actually very well signed.
Shinjuku. Now we go on the left   side. Oh, look. We’ve got our first view
of our vending machines. Also, lockers, which I’ve heard is a big thing because I heard
that metro stations don’t have many escalators. There’s lots of like um stairs. So, often people
don’t carry their luggage around with them. So, lockers is a great idea if you’re out and
about in the city, you want to spend the day,   maybe you’ve got a late flight or you’ve just got
the bags on you, pop your stuff in your locker, stop by the vending machine, grab a
drink. Perfect. You’re good to go.   We are going to Asakuso. We’re going to start
our day there. See what it’s like. Okay, this is looking busy. Our first impression of Tokyo Metro.
It’s not even rush hour right now. Flipping out. That was quite impressive. packed train, but it
was so quiet. Still love it. Have a look at the platforms here. I have yet to find any rubbish.
There’s nothing. It looks pristine. Really, really cool. So, as far as first impressions,
go ticking all the right boxes. Tokyo. There we go. Perfect. Thank you very much. Lovely.
Lovely. That was nice. All right. Look where we go now. Follow the signs. Asa Cusa and Oshiagi.
We have arrived. We’re starting from the area of Asa Cusa. I mean, this is in Shibuya. Yeah,
but you can see the crossing here already. And it looks like it is busy here, too.
It It is crazy busy already. Oh   my goodness. Look at that.
Have a look. The whale and his wife’s out here already. And this is just a
week day, guys. Just to give you an idea. Wow, we’re not even starting off late. The time
right now, if you’re wondering, is 11:00. So, okay. It’s not exactly the earliest of starts,
but hey, it’s not that late either. Quick tip, if you want to start things off here in Tokyo,
make sure you come out well early. Okay, what is   going on here? Is this like all shops and things?
Yeah, this is one of the um the gates, I think. All right, so this looks like one of the main
high streets and then I believe if you keep   walking down, it’s where D temple is. So, it’s
one of the I think it’s one of the most famous and one of the most important temples here in
Tokyo in Japan. So, I’m excited to see it. This looks like it’s going to be all souvenirs
down the side. Maybe some food as well. But I was saying, do you reckon
we’ve started a bit late today?  Yeah, for sure. For this spot. Yeah, 100%.
I mean, I looked at the time, it’s 11:00 and I thought this was early, but from the
looks of it, uh, not so much. No, I heard if you’re coming to this spot, you got to come
at like 8 9:00 a.m. and then it’s better. Yeah,  it’s a sensory overload out here. I’ll be
honest. Like, there’s so much going on. Right down at the very top is the Seno
G temple that Libby was talking about. We’ve been thinking about this trip for so long.
And now we’re here, it feels really surreal.   Strawberry candy going on down here. Ooh, we
got to try strawberry mochi as well. Sorry, I’m going to get so excited by all the food
that we got to try while we’re here in Japan.   So, if you have any recommendations already,
make sure you drop them down below, please, because we’d love to read through them all. I am
very much looking forward to this and we, if you don’t know, love food. So, that is one that we’re
looking forward to. All right, I think we made it   down to the main kind of area of where the temple
is. If you have seen pictures of Tokyo, you will have seen these pictures. If you Google search
it, this is what appears. This is Seno G temple. O wow, this is beautiful already. gorgeous.
So, this is apparently the oldest temple here in Tokyo. And this temple apparently attracts
over 30 million worshippers every single year, which honestly is absolutely insane. Like, that’s
such a large number of people. I think you can read your fortune over here as well, which is
supposed to be quite a popular little activity   to do. But it is picturesque at every single
point that you see it here. It’s beautiful. Wow. probably a photographers’s dream over here as
well to capture all of this. It looks absolutely amazing. You can read your fortune on this
side. So, you go and you take like some sticks, you shake them, and you pick one out and it’s
supposed to tell you like your your fortune.  Does it?
Yeah. Do you want to do it? Show me. Yeah.
Yeah.  I hear a lot of shaking going on,
right? How does it work? So, I think that there is like a slot. You
put in your your money. You have to check   this. Then you do it upside down. You pull
one of these out and whatever is on this, you match it to the door and then you read
it. And then sometimes you can draw a bad. There we are.
Okay. 95. 95 here. This one, which I swear is the same one that you
just pulled out. Okay. It’s in English actually as well. Number 95. I call good fortune.
Encourage yourself and you’ll be fortunate.   You haven’t seen the sign of good luck yet,
but you’ll get it in the future. Your wish will come true. Both marriage and employment
are good, and it is good to make a trip.  I like that.
There you go. Good fortune. Well, that’s all right. What do
we do with this now? Put it back in again.  That’s a good question, actually. I don’t
I think we we leave it back in here. I think this goes back in there for sure.
That goes there. Yeah. And   then this goes back in here.
This goes back, right? Or can we take it? I I believe so. Yeah,
I’m going to take it. But that’s yours   now. When we started planning our dream Japan
trip, we wanted to make it fun, easy, and totally stressfree. So that is exactly why we booked
everything through our best friends at Cluke. Cluke has seriously become our travel bestie.
From the JR passes to unique local experiences and even go-karting around Shabuya was insane
and it was all booked through Cluke on the app. Not only did it save us time and language stress,
but also we managed to get exclusive deals via the app that we wouldn’t find anywhere else. From
temples to trains to once in a lifetime moments, Cluke helped us make it all happen. Most bookings
gave us instant confirmation and we also had a really handy QR code. Everything was stored on our
phones, which is super easy and very convenient when you’re on the go and traveling as much as we
do. If you are planning your next adventure, then you should be sure to check out Clug. They have so
many destinations, so many activities. Honestly, go bag yourselves a deal. Use our code Taz and
Libby at checkout or you can check out our QR code on the screen now. Save your pennies, grab a
deal, thank us later. Back to the vlog. Let’s go. That is the actual cutest thing in the
world. So sweet. I love it. She knows. It is meant to be rainy season
here in Tokyo in Japan overall, but fingers crossed hopefully it’s going to be
amazing weather. And that is the fivetory pagoda. It is indeed. It was founded in 1942. And also in
the topmost pagoda is apparently a bone relic that was um donated by Sri Lanka. Apparently that’s
in there and it’s sealed away. It’s kept private, kept safe up there. So, isn’t that crazy? Hey,
that’s incredible.  Yeah, there’s something quirky going on
everywhere. You see, there’s something happening. This is again a relatively quieter
side here in Tokyo. Still too many people out and about. No one’s complaining, but this is
considered quiet. Hey, 7-Eleven. This is the first 7-Eleven that we’ve seen so far. And you
know what that means? We’re going to go inside,   have a look, see what there is here. The best
ones we’ve seen so far have been in Thailand. So true.
But the ones in Japan are on another   level. I’ve had you’ve got literally everything.
All of the goodness out here. Never seen any of this before. What is this? Crisp snacks.
Something like that. I want to   get something to eat.
Wo. Got ramen and ramen everywhere. Gorgeous. What have we got?
Oni sandwiches. You have oniri. What’s this?
Yeah. Tuna. We got a pickled plum. Ooh, I’ve
never seen that one before.  No. We got salmon, red salmon,
grilled salmon. We got
I love this one.  beef and green onion here. Grilled salmon.
So much burritos. Sandwiches. You’ve got full-on meals out here as well. You’re
literally in Japanese food paradise here, right?
Oh my gosh. There’s a   butter chicken curry inside of a rat.
No way. Is that a burrito? Yes, apparently. How funny.
All right, this one definitely   has way more variety than Thailand. That’s for
sure. I got um the beef and onion um oniri, but it’s not got the seaweed on it.
My lord, look at that. Spoted it at the same time. That looks insane. That looks like
heaven in a container. Oh, there’s two cakes in there. We can’t two.
We can.  One for you, one for me, or one for me. I don’t
know. Oh, now look at this choice of ice cream. That looks divine.
Wow,  look at that.
That looks insane.  Ohio brulee. I mean, we hope it’s a creme brulee,
right? It looks like one. So, I think this is all alcohol, which not right now clearly
in the evening. Come evening time.  Look at this one. This is a 9% pink one.
I don’t know what that is, but I have seen these all over social media. But we have loads of
different teas, coffees, juices, as well as some of lemony bits. You’ve got smoothies over here.
So, I think that you basically you buy the cup and then you’re able to make it into like
this smoothie like this. That’s insane.  I love it much. Oh, perfect. That
was nice and easy. We’ve got our little bits. Can we sit upstairs? But if
you’re going to eat, you’re not allowed to   uh like walk and eat. So you have to see it.
This is so cool. It’s like all partition. So you can sit here on your own and munch on some.
Yeah. You haven’t got to like mingle if you   don’t want to.
Yeah. You know, actually so nice.
Not bad. This is a nice little spot though. Huh.  I like this.
Yeah. This is actually quite cute. But yeah, I heard that you cannot walk and eat or like
walk and drink. So when you buy your food,   you must like sit and eat it there and then.
I mean, you can, but it’s just not there to get basically. So you just don’t want to like
drop your food whilst you’re walking around. So,  it’s more polite maybe
cuz also another thing in Japan is you don’t have rubbish bins anywhere. So,
that’s true.  You don’t want to be carrying around all
the rubbish with you the entire day. So, if you are by a 7-Eleven, they will have bins.
Yeah, that’s really nice. Actually, I just tried the lemon tea, which I don’t know, but very
good. How much did this cost us by the way? Uh, all together, 1100 yen.
So, for that £6. Yeah, that’s not so bad at all. All right. I am having grilled salmon.
Okay. I have beef and I know you have salmon. Real salmon.
Nice. M. This is better.   You haven’t even tried this. How do you know?
I can tell you it’s already better. This one, too. Okay. You got better rides.
Did you get any  of this? Yeah.
Mhm. Well, this place has got busier now. We were sat
on the other side before. Happy days. Get rid. be with that here. And now this time’s got busy.
We’ve been fed now. Happy days. Let’s make a move. See what else is happening. 7-Eleven here in
Japan. You’ve been absolutely amazing. Let’s go. Trying to make our way down there. Sky
Tree Tokyo. What is this like on top of this building? A golden nugget. No idea. But it’s
quite quirky. The pavements here everywhere. like back in one of the busiest areas that
we’re just coming out of. Clean everywhere. Like there’s no rubbish even here. This is pretty
impressive. Like for the city as big as Tokyo, I haven’t seen any plastic anywhere so far.
No, neither have I. I think it’s to do with   like encouraging people to take it home
and actually like recycle. I’ve heard that they’re quite strict on like the
you got to sort out your rubbish like   to make sure that it’s going in the right
what do you call it? collection kind of like plastic and plastic
paper combustibles and   combustible stuff like that. Yeah.
So, what is that up there then? It is the Asahi Beer Hall, part of the Asahi
Brewery’s headquarters in Tokyo. Often nicknamed the Golden Turd by locals due to its shape.
I literally called it that when I looked at it and I’m not even a local and that’s what it
looks like, Golden Tur. We are stood right now at the very very bottom of the tallest tower in
the world, otherwise known as Tokyo Sky Tree. So, we’re very excited to be on our way
to the Sky Tree observation deck. It will   be absolutely epic cuz it is meant to be the
tallest tower in the world. 634 m sky high. It’s also said that if you come on a clear day
like today, you can even, if you’re fortunate, catch views of Mount Fuji. So, uh, that remains to
be seen. I think it’s going to be epic if you can see it from here. Where’s the entrance?
Round to the right.  There we are. Follow the signs.
So, we actually managed to book all of this with Cluke, which was super convenient,
very, very helpful because if you know Japan, then you know you have to book all of your tickets
in advance. And obviously, for the tallest tower   in the world, we had to come. So, thank you.
I think I will have a bad back and a bad neck. That’s how high it is all the way. Look at that.
Jesus. Wow. The easiest way to do it is book. Absolutely.
If you want to go check out   activities here in Japan, especially in Tokyo,
they are booked well in advance. Make sure in order to avoid any inconvenience, go on clue like
we did. So easy. You get your QR codes and you can just walk straight through. So, we are going
to make our way through to the Tokyo Sky Tree. You definitely have to book in advance like Taz
was saying because I think this was sold out at   least a week in advance, if not more, especially
if you want to come at sunset. No chance. But hopefully, we’ve already actually got our tickets
like we were saying, we’ve got them on Clue.  Yes.
Okay. Number five, exchange ticket. So, we already have our QR code. All we need to do
is we don’t need to purchase tickets. We just need to uh exchange the QR code for actually a
physical ticket here. Just scan it. There we go. Oh, yeah. Perfect. So, this is us.
Yeah. Combo ticket. That’s us. Two   tickets. We got our tickets. Let’s do this.
So, this one’s got two observation decks. So, I think one’s at 350 and the other one’s like
400 and something. Here we are. I think so. Thank you, Arato. Right. It’s as easy as
that. Just scan your QR code. Thank you. That was so simple. We avoided any
cues. Nice. In We did actually book   a time slot or I think about 2:00,
but we’re here a little bit early. How many floors up is it doing?
Oh, I don’t know. I know we’re   going 350 m or 450 first. I’m not
sure which one it goes to first, but even tells you the speed. 600 m per minute.  Oh, my ears popped. That is
impressive. Just to give you an idea. Look at this. Look at this. I’m
actually super looking forward to my goodness. I’m so excited for this.
This is going to be wicked. Okay,   which side is Mount Fuji? That’s what we got to
find first. This is beautiful. I was looking at the forecast. Yesterday was raining. Tomorrow is
cloudy. Today is the perfect weather. So, yay. Ridgeway is Fuji. That’s why it would
be epic if we can see Fuji somewhere. I mean, I would highly recommend that
you come and do this at sunset. Like,   come just before golden hour and then watch
it turn dark as well. That would be insane. The lights will all come on.
Look at this.  Wow.
No way.  This is the real life Sim City here, guys.
This is the biggest city in the world. And we are here
sinking  at 350 m standing observing. Wow. Tallest
tower in the world. Insane. This is a bird’s eye view. 350 m up. This is what the largest
city in the world looks like. 41 million. 41 million.
All right. This is pretty cool. It tells   you the current view. So you can see Asakusa from
here. Tokyo Dome, Tokyo Tower, Shinjuku, Yokohama. Unfortunately, Mount Fuji, you can’t see. It’s 106
km. You can’t see Mount Fuji unfortunately today which is 106 km from here. This is pretty cool
as far as like information and stuff’s concerned. Tells you what you can look at exactly. There’s
another observation deck further up at 450 m.  Yeah,
the ticket does include that as well. You can book a combo ticket or you can book individual
ones as well. Like you can do just the 350,   you can do the 450 or you can do a combo. That is
exactly what we’re doing right now. Busy, busy, busy. You know, now that you said it, I can’t get
it out of my head that it actually does look like   the real life Sim City of like, you know, when
you just plop like blocks down and buildings. I literally can now see that. That’s insane.
Check this out. That’s literally where we were. Yes. And this is a Cela River.
Is that the bridge that we were   walking on? That one. That’s a giant
turd. We walked quite a bit, didn’t we? I think it’s about 1.5 km, 2 km, something like
that. But yeah, it’s a decent walk for sure. Everywhere you see there’s just it’s so developed.
I am loving this place. Where’s the traffic? I don’t see traffic for a city that has
got so many. So inside actual Tokyo,   like I think downtown Tokyo, I think it’s about
14 million. So imagine that amount of people on the roads. But where are they? I haven’t
really seen traffic outside. I haven’t seen   gridlocks anywhere. No traffic jams or anything.
I mean, we can see the road network right now. Yeah, I think the metro stations will be
busy at like uh peak hours, do you think? Isn’t Tokyo like one of the biggest
metros in the world as well?  Yeah, I think so. Which insane I’ve seen I
mean I’m sure everybody has seen all those viral videos that go crazy of people on
like the train stations where they they   try to push to get in because there’s just so
many people at the volume of people is insane. There’s a Duncan down there. It should be busy,
but hey, free flowing traffic everywhere. Right.   I want to go up another 100 m to the second
observation deck which is here I guess 450 m. Hey. So this is where we are right now. This is
called the tempo deck floor. And then the one at 450 m is called the tempo galleria floor. So with
the combo ticket you get to go see both of them, right? Yes, you do. Yeah. With the combo, you
get to go to both the 350 and the 450 deck. So   there you go. Amazing. Everybody go out here and
say anything. Thank you. There’s literally just four people here in this elevator right now. The
music’s just come on. Happy days. Look at this.   It’s an anime themed lift. Love it. Oh,
look. Oh, yeah. This is opened up. I mean there is
glass but yeah you know what I mean by and here happy days
very  I am loving this. It’s a bit tricky though
if you don’t know if I like it. 450 we’re here. Let’s go. Welcome to the second
viewing deck. Oh wow. Check this one out. Oh nice.
Wow. This is definitely better than the 350 m observation.
Really tall. Walk him. Walk him on the outside. Walk on the outside.
Oh, this is the highest point. Look. 445.6 m and the highest point is 451.
Oh, yeah.  So, this is a slope.
So, you can feel it literally. You you can feel the slope go down now,
right? Oh my goodness. I don’t think I like this. But I actually was reading that the design is
like the structural one is like basically like central which helps it if like in the event of
an earthquake it would help it be more stable and have more like um stability. Basically
it has five tears as well though right? Yeah. It matches like the culture and the the
architectural design here in Japan which is wicked actually that golden cat down there.
Oh yeah, we’re back to there again.   It is spiraling up as we go around the
observation deck. The views are incredible, but you can look down and go. Look at that.
But this just gives you an idea of the sheer height. So, this is still 450 m and we have
close to another 200 m further. Wow. How do you feel? I mean I definitely when we came out
I felt a bit wobbly but now I feel all right. Tokyo is such a sprawling city as far as
observation decks are concerned. These are some of the best views that we’ve seen anywhere. As
far out as you can see it’s all Tokyo everywhere. And why did they build this tower you ask?
Tell us.  Why did they? So they built it in they started
in 2008 and they opened it in 2012. And it was basically for
only in 4 years.  Yeah. Which is pretty crazy as well. But
it’s basically because as Tokyo grew and the population grew and the skyline grew,
this tower or Tokyo Tower was mostly used as like a broadcasting tower. And because all the
buildings in Tokyo were rising, so the signals and the interference was getting too much that then
they couldn’t do it. So they built this tower to 634 m. So it now stands as the tallest tower
in the world if we haven’t already said that. And the reason for that obviously is because like
the taller you are, the more clear the signals   are. Maybe unobstructed if you want to call it
that, uninterfered. Yeah, because Tokyo Tower used to be the tallest tow before. Now it’s Sky
Tree Tower where we are right now. So yeah, epic. This is so trippy. I’m literally holding on
for dear life on this rail. When you look down, it looks so trippy. It’s weird. You can see the
road down there below that little uh what is it? A river walk down there as well. Right next to us.
Look at the cars.  Creepy. We are so high up right now.
450 m. I’m done for the world. Hey, I’m done for the world. Hey, look
down. Oh, it’s wobbling. I’m scared. Yeah, it’s because people behind
you. They’re jumping and dancing.  No, thank you. I might have to get off.
All right. Ready? Go. What can you see? More. You’re nuts. I’m literally stood
so that I can get up as quickly as I can. This is all right. You’ve got another layout. Like
there’s another floor. That’s good. So, you’re okay. You’ve got double the protection.
You’re all right. It’s not that intense.  I see there’s two now. Yeah.
We have finally made it to the famous crossing of crossings. The mother of all crossings. Welcome to
the Shabuya Scramble. This is somewhere that we’ve always wanted to come. Now, from from there,
I’m going to make my way down here. Let’s go. We don’t even know where we’re going
right now. We’re just walking around   in the Shabuya. Scramble everywhere. Oh, this is
mental. This is a mother of all crossings, eh? Isn’t it just Oh my goodness. We’re going to get
run over. Mental. Okay, let’s just get out the road cuz the red man’s come on again. I think
as a motorist, I would hate to drive around this area or especially just this crossing. It
must be so frustrating. But that was quite fun actually. There we go. So, we moved into a new
neighborhood now. We’re in Shibuya, which is kind   of like more hip, more trendy. It’s bustling.
I mean, this is the equivalent of Time Square here in Tokyo. So, what Time Square
is to New York, Shibuya is to Tokyo.  Definitely. And so of course guys, you can’t
come here and not go up. So we’ve got to go find somewhere to go up, but that might be later
on. I’m not sure if we’ll do it right now. Get   something to eat.
Hungry. Yes. Should we find somewhere that
we can go and eat? Maybe.  I’m just waiting for the next scramble now. Of
course you are.  Like look at how many people are already lined
up waiting to cross. Do you reckon this is what people do? Just cross from one side to the
other all day long. And you never know. I mean, we’re about to join them. So
should we?  Why not? Yeah. I would absolutely not be
surprised if this is what people are doing as well by luck. We’re not the only ones. We
just made our way from that side over there and from there down here
and we’re about to go.  There we go. It’s going. We’re
absolutely crazy. We’re doing it again. This is crazy. Everywhere you go. All right.
I’m going this way now. I mean, we’re just aimlessly
going around. No problem. Like,   this is the kind of thing that you
have to do when you are in Tokyo. Oh dear.
This is hilarious. I really need to eat   something and find another activity to keep myself
occupied as well. This is too much fun. All right, let’s go. Welcome to Shabuya. I guess uh
dad’s got me a little Shibuya scramble fix. I feel like I’ve been part of,
you know, like this famous iconic   history or landmark here in Tokyo. Lovely.
Where are we going now? Should we go here? Yeah. The sun’s too bright as well right now.
It’s like golden hour upon us. You can’t come   to Japan and not get a hearty bowl of ramen. So,
I think we might be uh going somewhere along here. Maybe if we can find a good little spot somewhere.
Oh, this is cool. This place will be buzzing in the evening. Like I can’t wait to come back, see
what it’s like. Sun down. It’s going to be proper banging and all of the neon lights are on.
The sun goes down and Shabuya comes to life for sure.
Flipping   hell. Just love it. Are we crossing as well?
Uh yeah, we are. Here’s another crossing. You don’t get very long to cross, do you? Not when
you’re running around like we are. Look at this. We haven’t literally stopped smiling
since we arrived here in Japan.  It is such a cool place. This is also reminding
me of back home. Uh Regent Street, Oxford Street. Yeah, like on steroids though. This is crazy. I
think that there’s actually the largest uni club in the world here. It’s either here or it’s
in Shinjuku. I don’t remember which one. Oh, but it’s in Tokyo though, so that’s all right.
Yes,  we can probably go check it
out. Is there one duly close? Yeah,
that everywhere you see,   even on the side streets, right, it’s buzzing. And
this is just your normal weekday as well. By the way, just in case if you guys are wondering,
it is during the week, not even the weekend.   No. Could you imagine the weekend?
It would be absolutely mental. We will be here over the weekend as
well. So, there’s a British pub.  Oh, look at that. Yeah. Expecting to see one of
Yeah. We’re going to be in Japan for a good I don’t know 3 to 4 weeks.
Yes.  So, we will have plenty of time to go around.
Take all the sights and the sounds in of this beautiful country. Super super excited to be
here. Time to eat. Time to devour some ramen. So, we found a place for some ramen. But
guys, I will not shout cuz it’s a small   space. It’s just like the little bar area.
And I heard that like the typical traditional thing is like very very quiet in restaurants.
I don’t know. So yeah, I mean that’s a Japanese   energy. So we are having you’ve got this one spicy
ramen with a and sichuan pickles. Looks good. And then yeah, I went with ramen with fresh citro.
So did you get an egg with that as well? Yeah, the boiled egg as well. So we doing it in
front of us over here live cooking station.  I am loving this place. This is
like properly traditional Japanese. Really nice with tani as well. So it’s
in Shibuya and yeah, we just found this little place. Came in. This is our first
time eating in a restaurant. I’m excited. Eat quickly and get cracking because it’s
considered rude if you hold a table and you’re not eating. So some places even have time limits on it
as well. If you’re wondering why I’m doing this,   it’s because I don’t want to take the mic off
when the ramen comes out. Super excited. I’m looking forward to it. How excited are you?
Yeah, I’m ready. I’m hungry. This looks yummy. All right. What was yours?
So, mine was something like   lemony. Look, I’ve got lots of um
lemon. Yeah, citroen on the side. So, let’s see. I’m sure it’s going
to be amazing. It smells really,   really good. I’ve tried a bit of mine. It
is beautiful. Yeah. So good. Look at that. The presentation 10 out of 10. Absolutely love
it. I don’t know what the red bit is. But I’m sure it will taste amazing. I’ve got um beef
mints and um I’ve tried a bit of soup as well. So good. One minute. First time trying ramen
here in Japan. What’s the broth like? Happy face. That is so good.
Love it. Love it.  Really nice. And all like freshly done right
in front of you. All delish. Really nice. Definitely 10 out of 10.
I was just going to ask   you for a rating. 10 out of 10. Solid.
Mhm. That looks decent. That looks really, really good. Yeah. You’re a big fan.
That was big.  Oh, yum. That’s all beef here. Happy day.
Very tender. Really, really good. That looks really good as well. Yeah. I feel
like this was a really nice like authentic start. I mean, it’s not not too crazy.
It’s slowly introducing us nicely, but not much. Right. I’m going to eat. I’m starving.
This place is also tucked away from the main road.   Yeah, it is. We’re literally just up on the side
street over here kind of watching the world. So, there you go. It is lovely.
Great views. Sorry. Now we   can vouch. It’s really, really good.
Yeah, it’s delicious. Really nice. I’m going to eat. Thank you. Oh, that was really,
really, really good. Enjoyed that. And what way to start our Japan trip? That was such a
hearty ball. As I was saying earlier when we were on the lookout, it’s literally in such
an unassuming neighborhood as well. Like just behind this building on the other side is the
hustle and bustle of Shabuya. Whereas here, if somebody blindfolded
you and just left you here,   you would have no idea you are in Shibuya still.
Imagine. Yeah. If they just dropped you somewhere, you Yeah. You wouldn’t know.
You wouldn’t know at all. But  so quiet. There’s hardly anyone about here. But we
saw the reviews of this place. It’s called Tinari. M. It’s really, really good.
So nice. Nestled away in   this quiet lovely little neighborhood.
But I won’t get over like there’s just random vending machines just like dropped here and there.
Don’t they say they’ve got over 5   million vending machines
all over Tokyo or Japan? Japan, I think.
Yeah.  This is the neighborhood where we’re at right
now. And if I’m not wrong, these are love hotels. I think they are. Yeah. We were just discussing
as we walked through because there’s two different   prices. There’s a rest or there’s a stay.
You’ll come in to rest. There we go. If you’re resting, 4,000 for 2 hours. And if you’re
staying 9,300. I know which one’s a better deal. I’ll stay. Get a proper bang for your buck.
Bang for your buck. Shocking. Oh, with all the dad jokes coming out now. Are you super full or
do you reckon you can do a dessert or something? M I can do a quirky fancy Japanese dessert. I
think cuz I’ve seen this here. If we can get a smoothie cuz they have smoothies here as well.
So that would be amazing. Let’s see. Where is it? These ones here. Purchase at the counter
then blend with the blender unit. Happy days. Which one do I want to go for then?
I think this berries and yogurt.  Yeah, berries and yogurt. Sounds nice.
Green smoothie, strawberry, banana, soy. Oh, maybe not. Asai banana. Look at
that. So, it’s literally like all actual   fruit in there. You pay for that and then you make
put in the little machiney thing. So, what do we have to do now? We have to scan the barcode.
There we go. Take the lid off. All right. This is something we’ve
never done before, haven’t we?  No.
You got instructions here as well. Lovely. Okay. And now take the lid off. Put it in the blender.
This is not difficult.  This is a new experience. Absolutely. Okay.
This is gone. Start. Look at that. Welcome to the future where the machine’s going to make the
smoothie for you. It’s just putting water in it. That’s actually wicked, isn’t it?
You’re loving it.  Yeah, I can see if it’s doing it or not.
This is banging. Oh, yeah. Look now. Look at that. This is the first place I’ve ever
seen that you can do your own   smoothie like that. Never seen that before.
These are Japan things. How long does it take? Oh, it tells you.
Ah, about 70 seconds.  So, you got 70 seconds to go.
There’s a Here we are. And let’s get a
lid.  Lovely. This is actually fresh.
Fresh. Fresh. Fresh. Mhm. Is it nice?
This is really good. It   literally just mixed up with water. The fruits are
already in this. Happy days. That was impressive. How much was it? Decent. Uh, this was
It was actually like 380. So yeah, it’s like less than two pound. So um pound
two yen is actually like one is like 200 yen. So 380 almost about 2 quid. Not bad.
Oh, check these guys out. Japan. They’re all running around there. One cities just going around
Shibuya. I think they are. Yeah, because Shabuya the the scramble’s further up in that direction.
Oh, that’s given me an idea. All right, stick around. But I think for now it’s been a
really really amazing start to Japan. Loving it. Yeah, we are. Check these guys out.
It looks cool, doesn’t it? Hey, you guys look amazing. Yeah, that’s definitely
giving me an idea. But anyway, on that note, I think we’re going to finish it up, you guys.

  1. Travel goals! Really love how the culture and history is respected and preserved amongst the modern digital technology and sky scrapers! So excited to follow this adventure!

  2. 23:47 They said that the safest place to be in an event of a mega earthquake is at skytree tower, but underground at it's base.

  4. Guys !! You must visit Kyoto, Nara, and Osaka! These gems are close to each other. I bet my life you will fall in love with Kyoto and Nara! DO IT!!

  5. As you may already know, there is no need to buy a ticket each time if you charge money to Welcome Suica.

  6. I don't know who informed you about visiting Japan and the transit system. Just buy 2 suica cards, load them up and start travelling by tap and go. Stop buying the individual tickets ;-).
Also Shibuya is roughly 20km from Asakusa 😉

  8. If you walk from Asakusa to Ueno-Station,
    : Kappabashi Kitchen-Town
    : Ameyoko-Market
You can buy everything to be satisfied.

  9. Travel adventures alone can Provide us more Percentage of PINK JOYFULNESS always but mostly Sluggish Folks didn't even try it but simply makes Time Pass Hobby by typing Silly Comments for YouTube channel videos as usual but why.

  10. 大都市を堪能した後は日本の地方都市を訪れてほしい。
    ほのぼのとした本当の日本がそこにあります

  11. You can touch the gate and board directly without purchasing a ticket with your SUICA card.

  12. Suicaカードは、そのまま改札でSuicaカードをかざして通って下さい。
    Suicaカードで切符を購入する必要はありません。☺️

  13. We hope you enjoy your time in Japan and kindly ask you to observe the local customs and regulations.

  14. if you have a pre-charged SUICA card, You don't need to buy ticket for train/metro. Just touching the gate. Metro card is available also.

  15. The train they took for Asakusa is NOT metro. It's a JR's commuter train running above ground. Tokyo's population is 14 mil.
The population of 41 mil spans a greater Tokyo area including neighboring prefectures such as Saitama, Chiba and
    Kanagawa.

  16. Welcome to Japan. In recent years, summer in Japan has been very hot due to abnormal weather. Also, overtourism has led to crowds. When you come to Japan, don't forget to bring a sun hat and take measures against heat stroke. We hope that your trip will be a wonderful memory.

  17. we visited Japan last summer. Stayed in Kyoto & Tokyo with Day trips to Osaka & Himeji
Going back this Fall. Plan on visiting Nagoya & Tokyo with various day trips

  18. The estimated population of Tokyo as of June 1, 2025 is 14,257,254.
Why buy a ticket if you have a Suica card?
If you have an iPhone, you don't even need to buy a card.

  21. Travel Tip: If you have a Suica card or an iPhone with the app installed, you don't need to buy a ticket. Just touch the card to the sensor at the gate and you'll be through!

  22. So nice to see your Japan video finally out. It was very nice to meet you Taz and Libby at the stairways of Fushimi-Inari Taisha Shrine on June 16!
