My First Trip to Jakarta šŸ‡®šŸ‡© | A Japanese Traveler’s Surprising Business Journey

Hi there šŸ™‚
I’m off to Jakarta for my first overseas business trip
just 3 days, but full of adventure. Come along with me!
Haneda Airport is busy as always. I can’t stop thinking about business meeting ahead…
It’s hard to relax—but I’ll try to enjoy the ride. I’ll be back, Tokyo!
Just look at Mount Fuji—it’s so clear today. It takes about 8 hours from Japan to Jakarta,
so I settled in for a calm flight. Arrived in Jakarta! All the immigration forms—visa, health declaration, and customs—were done online. So modern! Ta-da! Here’s my hotel Shangri-La. Spacious, elegant—what a reward after a long flight. The night view was beautiful too. Makes me feel motivated to work—maybe? šŸ™‚ I stepped into a local neighborhood
deep, authentic Jakarta. The streets were full of life. Today’s an important meeting day. Before my presentation, I was soooo nervous. A quick video call with my English teacher gave me the boost I needed šŸ™‚ Thanks to my teacher for the encouragement!! ā€œFake it until you make it.ā€
That’s my great motto! Everything went well!
I’m proud and relieved šŸ™‚ Grateful for our friendly business partners.
They made me feel welcome. With the meetings done, I finally had time to breathe. It’s already the last night.
For celebration, I had a drink at the hotel bar. Sorry for the shaky camera—I got excited! This bar had a real American vibe—big burgers, live music, and a fun atmosphere. Stepping into Indonesia, I was immediately struck by the vibrant energy. You can really sense the momentum of growth here. Now, what shall I order at the bar? Isn’t this bar surprisingly spacious? I ordered the nachos—crispy chips with loaded toppings. So good! And thanks to happy hour, it was a great deal. Good morning, it’s the final day. Time to relax and enjoy the breakfast buffet. But honestly, I end up eating the same stuff every time. Haha. I chose fruits and veggies for a vitamin boost. The place is so big, I might get lost. I always check out the local food corner! And just like that—it was time to check out.
The trip flew by. One thing I noticed: fewer motorbikes than I expected.
And yes, Grab works great here. This central area of Jakarta is filled with skyscrapers. What’s that giant monument? I heard the traffic here is intense—like, 24/7! I made a quick stop at Senayan City,
a huge shopping mall. From luxury brands to ZARA, Japanese restaurants to cafĆ©s—so many choices! Lots of stylish young people, too. I also checked out a high-end supermarket. Japanese foods and international snacks… And shelves full of Mi Goreng noodles. I could’ve spent hours there! Yep, tons of coffee here. Final meal of the trip—local food! English signs were everywhere—super helpful. Finally, I tried a local traditional dish: Soto Betawi. Itadakimasu! mogu mogu It’s a beef soup made with coconut milk
so gentle, so comforting. It went with rice! I didn’t have much time for sightseeing,
but I feel like I experienced a real slice of Jakarta. Can’t wait to return again soon. Thanks for watching, as always šŸ™‚
